Exactly! And she isn't the only one. Back in my childhood I played tennis, but I never felt like I joined a community. With climbing it is so easy to feel at home.

Old comment, but my guess is climbing bros that are jealous that she climbs harder/ higher level than them and perhaps the occasional jealous female.
I think it is exactly this wholesome, confident character that triggers people who have been raised to be bigots. The success of authentic, inclusive content creators is a threat to their bitter world view and self-esteem.

I'm a bit late on this but... I really don't understand how one could be offended... I must have less neuronal connection or maybe more but... She's just lovely, full of joy, super fun to listen to and on the side of it ( I mean, it's not even the most important ) an amazing climber.
What I mean by that is... I'd love to be friend in real life with her even tho she wasn't a climber at all, I'm offended by how dumb and dead inside some peoples are to be offended by her existence.
Long live Hanna, you are a real gold nugget in the climbing scene, and I'm pretty sure outside of it too. Stay strong.
I cannot fathom the urge to comment like that, under any circumstances, but after watching one of Anna's incredible videos? I mean, that's your take away? Body hair? DID YOU NOT JUST SEE THE GODDESS OF BOULDERING, BOULDER?

Sadly, you will find negativity on anything on-line, even for someone as amazing as Anna.
The climbing community in general is quite positive, and anyone who finds her offensive is not part of that community.
Being very online (as Anna is) entails dealing with a lot of bitter, lonely, negative people (and shall we say... men? Being a man I hate to add that but it's true). She handles it with grace.
As a woman I find her very attractive it can be just because she doesn’t try to be attractive. She is just she. Doing her sport and enjoying it. All other comments are loosing their importance. I don’t even talk about the comments about her armpit hair, or being gay, or period stuff. All around the world we are dealing with these kind of dumb discussions. Mind your own business.
A couple of my close friends are guys that would comment something like that, they werent always like that, ive seen why they become like that and observed them gradually descend into a dark state of mind.
I watch little from Anna simply because our sessions and personalities in climbing are utterly different. However, I am certain I could learn plenty from her, value her place in the climbing community, appreciate her technical climbing abilities, and am thrilled for her ongoing success. I have nothing ill to say about her, we are just quite different individuals, and nothing she does or represents threatens my existence. Climbing is vast enough to allow her into the space and is better for her presence.
The random white males obsessed with their own strength (of which I am one) spouting vitriol can get out of the sport…
This seems to be how it goes in globohomo culture. Random white guys behave badly and then the rest turn into social justice vigilantes to drive them out. It's quite like what happened in nazi germany.
I think a lot of people just want to hate on others; I have posted true stories and people just straight out deny it could have been true.
Woops. Yet another inspiring human whose on-line "company" turns out to be kinda conditional on having the correct thoughts about "haters".
I feel a little sad. But please don't confuse my feelings with hate.

I cant agree the tr*ns bullshit. But this doesn't mean that i not like her, as a person. People should be able, to discuss eachother deeply. We dont need to hate eachother, just because we disagree in some specific subject.
Unfortunately your tolerance isn't matched in the diversity movement. They hate "haters".

After months of watching Anna's videos, I can honestly say that I hadn't noticed.
But then I hadn't suspected that this was going to turn into yet another anti-hater zone.
This girl is beautiful, i dont know... people are stupid in general. They dont have any empathy.

Anna seems like a lovely person and she’s a great climber but talk about going out of your way to find something to be offended by. Nobody is threatened by Anna Hazlenutt. Nobody is holding her back. Practically nobody in climbing holds the views she’s attributing to them. I’ve climbed for years all over the world and I have never once heard anyone make a disparaging comment about another person’s race, gender or sexuality. Not once. She’s creating those fantasy obstacles to appear heroic when there is nothing there. She’s literally tilting at windmills. The demand for prejudice clearly outstrips the supply. It’s a sad state of affairs. Dragging politics into every area of life for a shred of social capital is lame.
Uhm she was talking about comments that she is really receiving on her videos and never mentioned that it was the climbing community specifically?
