And that's why Chris Cornell took Eddie under his beautiful wings, Eddie felt like an outsider because he came from San Diego California. Eddie has not a mean bone in his body. Eddie was devastated when Kurt Cobain died you can tell by the concerts and his performance after his death. Saturday Night Live on stage Eddie gave Kurt a tribute. Thank You Rory for sharing this video. There is still a rivalry between Pearl Jam and Nirvana fans. 😊💓🤘✌️
Regardless of any tension that may have existed, media (and some fans) looked to create or inflate controversy and drama. Definitely read "Everybody Loves Our Town" and "Grunge is Dead" for broader perspective. Lots of context and direct quotes on a wide spectrum of topics from this era... from those in the spotlight and behind the scenes.
there was no feud, BUT Kurt was kind of a pretentious prick and Stone and Jeff had roots in s Seattle long before Kurt. He was a bit jealous and it really wasn't a good look to be petty. Beyond Kurt's soundbites though, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice n' Chains got along really well.
I've also read that one reason Kurt was talking shit is because some people in the "scene" were accusing Nirvana of "selling out" so Kurt started saying stuff about Pearl Jam to deflect the criticism of Nirvana.
i think kurt meant it's easy to like pearl jam's music. while nirvana makes darker songs with lyrics about cancer and weird metaphors with more artsy videos. even though pearl jam's "jeremy" is possibly my favourite music video ever.
There was zero fued. All kurt said was their music was lame but really like Eddie and the other guys. People still making a big deal out of nothing 20+ years later

The books Your Favorite Band is Killing Me, and The Long Road, both by Steven Hyden, have an interesting take on this "feud."

They kissed and danced and made up! It was a beautiful thing!
Mate you have to check Rearview mirror SNL performance. The ‘happy’ drummer will be a pleasant surprise.
Kiddie metal with Adam Sandler killz
that performance rocks. i've recomended it to multiple reactors and i never got lucky.
@@virtualsnake1994 the whole band is on fire there. Also the song is a banger one of my favorite pj songs
Love buzz
What about the Smashing Pumpkins and Soundgarden feud (well it was more Billy Corgan being a bitch, but anyway..) Lul

They feuded about who got better drugs. Kurt won by default, Layne was a close 2nd and Chris was a distant 3rd in the game of smack.
