How I document my processes

  • Documenting your processes not only helps to improve your efficiency but it’s necessary if you ever plan to scale your business.
    By having a checklist or notes on how to complete a specific task, you can get the work done quicker as you don't have to remind yourself of the process each time. And you’re less likely to miss an important step that could set you back later.
    I’ve also learned that in order to remove myself as the bottleneck so I can grow my business, I need to have good documentation in place so that whoever is doing the work can do everything I need to the standards I require. Or if someone new starts doing this task, they can learn the new process quickly.

    Excellent video Paul! Ive been thinking lately to write down all our agencies' processes and for some reason i was delaying it. Your video gave me the "friendly kick" that i was needed. Much appreciated mate!

    Great video. Gave me the prompt I needed to document some processes I'd been meaning to do since reading E-Myth Revisited which discusses systematising your business.

    1. Process and Documentation: writing procedure, procedure (computer)
    2. Documenting tools sound useful
    3. Automation is easier with documenting tools
    4. Creating notes is extraordinarily helpful

    What would a good alternative to text expander be? I'm not sure if my company will allow it, but I really like the idea of labeling it in a 'folder' rather than having an endless google doc

      I don't know of any myself (I've been using TE for so long) but I'm sure a Google search would help you find some alternatives.

    Hi Paul, which of your videos explains why you use Asana and not Pipedrive’s Projects?

    Great video, thanks! I noticed that you have some tasks associated with a project called "Business". Am I correct to assume that this is a perpetually-open project where you keep repeating, important tasks? I have not considered this before probably because I've been hung up on insisting that a project have an end date.

      Yes it is. This is what I refer to as an 'evergreen project' (it's ongoing)

    I've started documenting my business processes. I've so far only done one thing (how to do a suburb research - one half only). I find it so difficult to start doing it in my busy day. How do you get the motivation or mindset to actually DO IT?? Takes me a lot of mental effort to overcome the inertia. I keep snoozing the item even if I schedule time to do it.... 😢

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's tough to answer. We're all motivated differently. I guess I would just remind myself if I don't do it now, the problem is going to get worse if I have to catch up later. That motivates me!

    Hi how to upgrade only one account on Asana ?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean 'team' instead of account? You can do this via the billing page in your company settings.
