Explaining that the ball cue would leave at 90 degrees from the impact point regardless of where it was before the shot and then deviate based on the spinning direction (or not spinning at all) it is priceless. I always think of where the balls need to "kiss"; never thought of the ghost ball position. Will try it next time I play. Watching this video makes me want to play! Or watch more videos.

Excellent! Well thought out and delivered tutorial. I've been playing both pool and snooker for over 40 years and you touched on each area critical to good beginner learning habits in a logical order. Knowing how to strike the ball does no good if you have an improper stance and poor stroke.

Tony wait until.your dads out or at work and practice by yourself and play around with the angles ( where u hit the cue ball) honestly dude it's a fantastic game if your enjoying it but don't feel pressured into it
I looked at 10 videos just to learn how to play pool even though i got the basic idea since i've played before. THIS VIDEO WAS AMAZING. All encompassing basic play but yet the ideas are laid out on how to become REALLY good. The ghost ball, the vertical line where the pool stick hits the q ball, how to hold the stick. Perfect.
Very good explanation... your preparation time shows. Only suggestion is to note APA, BCA, etc. have variations relating to choice of group in 8 ball, cueball placement following a scratch, etc. In other words, learn the specs for your league(s).

The way you hold the cue the chalk diagram the points on the ball the force you strike with this is what I've been looking for in order to learn to play pool the right way and not just mess around and not learn anything. I'll remember to put this all in practice when I take my cue to the bar/bowling alley and spend time learn to place my shots.youve been a great video teacher and I'm only a youngling padawan but you are the master of pool.

Me too, and I've been around pool tables casually for most of my life. This guy explains the physics in a simple and eye opening way. So good.
Yeah but with wide angles it doesn't. The object ball does spin. Which is why pro players will aim to miss on wide shots
