It was definitely slick. The whole no-UMD thing just kind of killed it. Society hadn't really adapted to buying games purely online at the time. However if they were to release it now it probably would have made more progress.
+amine lendani yeah but it would run the risk of looking stange since the console would either have to be a little thicker or wider to compensate for the drive whilst still maintaining it's slide up screen which is one of the key things that seperates it from the other PSP. +Mr. Bok I reckon the PS Vita would've done extremely well in that department if more game developers had got involved and if Sony didn't suddenly decide for no apparent reason to force everyone to use Vita exclusive memory cards which could only go up to 64GB...that and giving the vita its own excusive cable was a daft move (though in fairness they did fix that issue in the slimmer model). Seriously though the Vita is a brilliant upgrade from the PSP, it's a shame it's now on the verge of getting quietly swept under the carpet :(
It was more popular than the original in 3rd world countries where original games weren't accessible, so people had to use pirated copies of games that are installed directly to the memory cards instead. The go version made more sense for that and sony depended on the sales of the devices in those regions rather than the sales of the games
PSP was pretty amazing for its time. It was my main console growing up, until it got stolen and I bought a PS3. The games it had were outstanding, God of war blew my mind. I am so glad that emulators exist so that I can experience the same nostalgia that I did as a child. I am not much for brand loyalty but PS2, PSP, PS3 all played a pretty significant role in my growing up. And now, I'm in college and I have my PS4 right beside me every step of the way.
TyTech Lucky you, mine broke by accident just last week after almost 7 years R.I.P PSP. Good news is now I play my games digitally on the PPSSPP my games have never looked better.
I can't possibly comprehend why a decade old super outdated device still holds a ridiculously high price, even 2nd hand. I love my psp-2000 and was thinking about buying a Go model just to have it, but yeah, price is surprisingly high compared to the 2000 models on which you can actually play your UMD games.
What do you mean "best to hack"? They're all easy to hack. I think this one is just the coolest-looking and most portable but it's just not worth the price for the same games on a smaller screen... But it seems like 10 years from now it might hold pretty great value as a limited edition item.
Vita's biggest failure is the crappy childish/nintendoish UI which is the reason I didn't buy one. Big mistake after the awesome PSP. And also a big shame because the Vita has great built quality, how could they have that, and such an embarrassing UI.
while I do somewhat agree with you on the UI it to me seems like a bit of a minor reason not to buy one, I think the reason they went with that UI was a bit of a desperate attempt to draw in the Nintendo fans as well as smartphone users with the whole "everything needs a separate app!" shtick which honestly is nothing more than an annoying habit that big name developers have. My only serious gripes with the console are the incredible lack of storage (64GB is as high as you'll get), and Sonys sudden decision to remove the TH-cam & Facebook app
Wow what a throwback... over 12 years ago.. I remember so much about this time. My home, my childhood. Things are so different now... but man. PSP was awesome and a big part of that childhood and me getting more into mobilized tech. However, PSP GO didn't really pop off like that and rewatching this I can see why. Still, good video.
PSP go is the only PSP cuz PSP means PlayStation Portable and PSP go is the only PSP that is fitting in pocket and it doesn't need any cases to prevent buttons and analog stick from moving. So it's the best in portability.
This is a neat little system. I like that there was an S video cable available for it and it supports a PS3 Bluetooth controller. And nothing emulated PS1 games like a sony console. I already have a Vita but the PSN games available are different between the Vita and PSP stores. For instance Gran Turismo (PSP) is available to purchase on the PSP and Vita PSN stores but the game does not download onto the Vita only a PSP or PS3. Personally I'm interested in the PSP Go as a nice micro console for PS1 games I have lost, sold, or have broken over the years. And I don't feel the need to buy a PS TV or PS3.
Spanky Bruh oh lord... yeah man you need to send that back and get a refund if you can. The Vita comes with the same functionality as PSP go PLUS it plays new, PSVita games.
yeah, as long as you're on any ofw under 6.39 you can actually download signed games on your pc and put them on your pspgo and they would work without cracking the system. if you're over 6.39 you can get a cfw loader and play cso/iso games on the pspgo (note that using a hard installed cfw might void your warranty, so i suggest using a flash cfw that you will need to load up everytime you turn on your pspgo)
PSP 1000-GO > NDS 3DS > Vita Seems the next gen of portable gaming Sony will hopefully bring back a better PSP and not some expensive indie machine(Vita)
Yea I've heard that so many times, don't know why , its a great system awesome games too.... ppl keep buying Nintendo , can't stand Nintendo, all it has is Zelda n Metroid , other than those two games its useless to me
I can see why you would say that. It came with 16GB of built in storage, it was portable and it could only download games so UMDs weren't a problem to carry around anymore. I feel like they should have waited to release something like this though because at that time, people preferred UMDs. But soon enough everyone will have consoles like this because discs are phasing out.
psp go+case - 35 euro component cable - 5 euro charger - 2 euro ps3 controller - free (already owned) every game for the console - free (hacked+homebrew apps) so in total, awesome home console/handheld console for 42 euro
all i want a handheld console for is playing PSONE titles like final fantasy 7 which are already downloaded to my PS3 hard drive... is it worth getting one of these and will it do that?
question someone good help me out i wanna get a go but can u download all psp vita games or they only let u download some of the games? or is every single game u can get on digital form the store?
please consider my question urgent!! im planning to buy a psp go but im studying the mechanics of this thing so no regret if there's something i didn't like... now my question is... i have several games for psp that is saved here in my desktop... would the ""copy the game and paste it to the ISO folder"" method is still the way to put a game on the psp GO other than signing into Playstaion store and buy the game.... please reply ASAP!!

It was definitely slick. The whole no-UMD thing just kind of killed it. Society hadn't really adapted to buying games purely online at the time. However if they were to release it now it probably would have made more progress.
yeah if they added a umd drive it would be perfect
Also: Battery life. If it had the same or larger battery capacity as PSP 3000, it could've run the entire day...
+amine lendani yeah but it would run the risk of looking stange since the console would either have to be a little thicker or wider to compensate for the drive whilst still maintaining it's slide up screen which is one of the key things that seperates it from the other PSP.

Yes I agree
***** Ya I knw I don't own a PS3 though.
I've got my PSP go modded strictly for retro emulators. I love it. My friend modded it and hooked it up with thousands of classics.
I bought mines yesterday for $60. Thinking of bringing it anywhere I go. Installed Retroarch and an SNES emulator and it's an instant winner.
Got this for $300 today, so fun!
300 Dollars! it should be like 50 dollars since its aged and is a downgrade from the psp
You know you can get a Vita for 100 less than that?
+dapperfan44 really? I dont know much avout games but the guy who sold this to me on craiglist said its the newest game console and trending

4.3 inch screen, 512gb RAM, I don't care! I want one! Though I wish Sony release a Vita Go or Xperia Vita. That would be fucking awesome.

Is this still worth getting in 2014?
No, not at all haha
If u ure an old school gamer who likes gameboy and this kinda stuff you would have bought it....
Ummm haha I did buy it. IMO it's gay and it hardly has any good games.
Cus you must download it into the computer....
Nope it'll feel too outdated browser sucks and games are lame.
In 2016 who hacked their pop go??!
KandiesGirlz i hacked my psp e1003 but i need to run setup every time i reboot :D
KandiesGirlz I hacked my PSP E1004 and now I can put ROMs on there. No need to buy games :P

PlayStation might not bring a sequel to the Vita.
+Sheelo A. Lies.. I play the vita more than the xbox1 or the ps4 😠

Yea I've heard that so many times, don't know why , its a great system awesome games too.... ppl keep buying Nintendo , can't stand Nintendo, all it has is Zelda n Metroid , other than those two games its useless to me
I prefer a psp go then a ps vita
Are you being serious?
Do you have a PS Vita??
lmao you cant compare the two, the vita is on a console level and 1.234848433744645543 trillion times better
I can see why you would say that. It came with 16GB of built in storage, it was portable and it could only download games so UMDs weren't a problem to carry around anymore. I agree. Vita has no games
WAIT THIS IS 10 YEARS AGO
psp go+case - 35 euro
component cable - 5 euro
charger - 2 euro
ps3 controller - free (already owned)
every game for the console - free (hacked+homebrew apps)
so in total, awesome home console/handheld console for 42 euro
2024????

I remember this video like it was yesterday
Horrible system. Not really understanding why they went with a zune cable as well.
So this is an early unbox therapy? "Was supposed to release Oct. 1, we got it a bit early."

that's the most badass and manly name i've ever had the blessing of reading/hearing.
Go is really a underrated psp model
psp go or psp which one should i buy, somepne pls answer!!!!!
PSP GO is great to use for Mini's and other little hand held games.
Do you have to download games from psn or can you use the discs
The psp go omitted the UMD drive, so you couldn't use discs. The only method is through the PSN store.
ahhhhhh......... i miss you so much . i regret losing it .
So wait does the Go only have a micro SD slot or does it also have a Duo slot as well?
Got two psps , a vita and every next gen console including last gen and still want this
Can you play regular psp games on this? Or does this require it's own format of games?
you have to download games from the store.
Oh ok thank you.
@hbams1 you download them or you can backup your umd disks
Wanted one as a kid and got the 3000, loved the hell out of it. Who knows how it would’ve been if I had gotten the go though
@Silver2k what do you mean by running a homwbrew.?? is it cfw..??
This is the best portable emulation device.
One of the few pieces of hardware i have regretted buying, Their promotional offer sucked me into buying this.
who still wathching this in 2019 coz ihave one of that
Should I buy this bc I already have a PSVita slim
I have a white psp go from around the time it came out
The red light won't come on when I put it to charge can you tell me what's wrong with it
Hey Makalon which Psp do you prefer cause I have my 2000 however it broke so which psp do you prefer?
i miss this. I grew up with a PSP and I still have it, but I lost the charger D:
all i want a handheld console for is playing PSONE titles like final fantasy 7 which are already downloaded to my PS3 hard drive... is it worth getting one of these and will it do that?
Best unboxing ever, tell me people witch color i should get.
@EXA32 yeah, 16gb internal memory, and you can also add a 16 gb memory card too

I'm saving up money to get a handheld console should I get a psp go or a Nintendo dsi
ps vita or psp go which one should i buy????
Still watching in 2021!!!
Is the Psp go better than the Psp 3000? Because I may buy one of them & I want to get the wright one.
Now, you can't install games unless you do it via pc, the store is gone unfortunately.
do you have to buy the games that your downloading?
what's jack black going on the right?
question someone good help me out i wanna get a go but can u download all psp vita games or they only let u download some of the games? or is every single game u can get on digital form the store?
For Christmas i don't know what to get a psvita, psp go, or an atv. ?
atv....? wtf?
My old PSP is dead lmao. Lost the battery and unrechargeable. I will always miss you old friend.
Whats the difference between the go and the vita?
Watching this in 2019. Woa... 😶
please consider my question urgent!! im planning to buy a psp go but im studying the mechanics of this thing so no regret if there's something i didn't like... now my question is... i have several games for psp that is saved here in my desktop... would the ""copy the game and paste it to the ISO folder"" method is still the way to put a game on the psp GO other than signing into Playstaion store and buy the game.... please reply ASAP!!
excuss me im looking into these im just curious will the ps1 classics that can be sent to a psp work on this srry never used a psp online
umd drive is where you put the game inside, yes you can download and keep the games forever without paying if you got a memory stick and if your psp 3000 is hack/jailbreak.
when you download from the store you need to pay? and if yes, than how?
I still have the oldest PSP and I love it, I have played all of the other PSP's and preferably I do like the PSP Go because it it much more transportable than the regular PSP (1000, 2000, 3000) but the new Playstation Vita looks like a giant progression from the regular PSP but the size is not very "portable"
I never had the privilege to try out a PSP Go. Also, Jack Black on the right knows his technologic of game systems...
um so can u download every game that was on the older psp's? like i want kingdom hearts birth by sleep and thrillville, can i get both of these titles?
Do you have to have a ps2 or ps3 to download games?
technically if you use a cfw on the pspgo you got the same library of games that are available for the UMD compatible psp's.
and that is an awesome thing to have :)
ps vita's psp compatibility unfortunately is missing a lot of psp games because there were many UMD titles that sony didn't upload to the PS Store :(
When's this coming out
@1999Aadam108 sorry to tell you but they dont take discs you have to download the games that you want by going on the network store on the psp go
@LPG3D the GO is only £82 pre owned on amazon (black) whereas the PSP VITA is over £200 at it's starting price
@InternetSenation I agree 100%, even tho you can make it easier for yourself to use a credit card, you still have to download and install the game, which takes a long time even with a high speed connection, since most PSP games are over 1GB.
from were did you get it??
Does it have internet to begin with?
Where do You put the game !?!?!?!
How have people dislikes thid video? It was perfect.
Does it have a camera
Can PSP Go's play UMD Discs like the PSP 3000 ?
The dude in the black shirt on the left is "Guy cocker" Wtf...LOL
(im laughing) 😄😄 i mean...GUY COCKER...are you serious?!
@LPG3D Because Christmas is before it comes out?
whats the different between this and the psp 3000?? i wanna buy one :)
Is ther free games that you can download.?,or do all the games cost money?
