I get frustrated when I find Silhouette rimless frames that I like, only to discover they are now obsolete when I'm ready for new lenses. I'm not sold yet on buying the new rimless hinged version frames. I worry about them breaking easily or being too delicate to make small adjustments at home. Maybe they are stronger than I think.
I hadn't worn my own for well over 7 yrs. I did placed it into a plastic bag & only re opened the bag on 11-23-2023 gave the gold frame a wipe off with a cotton cloth & everything She said is so very true.... Yes it's expensive but,the materials it's made from compensate for many more yrs. of very good use !
I just ordered a new pair, going back to the brand after 10 years of not wearing them. I only spent $680 on mine, was able to get brown transition lens as well.
Danger!! Danger!! Please do not spend you money on these glasses. Nothing but bad news. My broken many times. Takes 6 weeks for parts and they are not cheap. Go elsewhere..please take my word for it..
@@lofihousefrog I have the ones with screws on the side and the screws broke after four years. The screws wore out. However, my optical center replaced the screws on the spot for free. They are since making my model without screws (probably because the screws did not last). I also have a different model without screws. They have not broken, but I wear them less often. I am getting a pair for readers, which I wear constantly. I will see if they hold up or not with constant use. I love how light the frames are. I would not order these online. You want to have a place you can take them to if they break.
I’ve had my silhouettes for 10 years. The broke once recently after they were sat on for about 5hrs. It took a week for them to fix them. Now they’re good as new.
