    Thank you so much for your very kind words. Truthfully though,the good shots I sometimes get are more the result of (as the saying goes) “even a blind squirrel finding an acorn every now and then.” I learned so much from our little impromptu shoot at the hotel. I would encourage everyone to attend the ImagingUSA conventions. So much great information at the presentations, but also you can learn so much from other photographers during those impromptu shoots and get-togethers. Booray, bless you for all you do for the photographic community. 🙏🙏🙏

      Come on Rick, you didn't learn anything. I was just holding the camera and you were doing all the work with the light. 🤣🤣

      @@BoorayPerry You are far too modest. Every time I have been around you I've learned things. What is truly great about the photographers I've met is that they are all willing to share and exchange tips and information. Not only do you do that, but you do it in such and entertaining fashion. We are blessed to have you as one of our "brothers in arms." 😉👍

    Hey Booray, really nice Wedding photos. Great way you explained the difference between a. Video light and flash light. I use a flash light for photography but i haven't used a video light. I used to use a video light in the old Video Camcorder i had. I like the detachable features in this video light, i guess those detachable features on the video light is kind of like a lens hood for video lights. Thanks Booray love your work. 😊📸

    BooRay, i'm looking to take portraits of my cat in my bedroom but don't want to startle her with a flash. Which video light would you recommend? Thank you so much for making this video!

    "Ubiquitous", Booray. It comes from the Latin, "ubique", which means "everywhere". You're welcome 🙂 Loved this video, as with most of your stuff.

    Hey Booray, Great video as always. I have no experience with off camera lighting, so here are a couple of probably naive questions. When using either source off camera, are you using a stand to mount it, hold it in your opposite hand or have someone hold it? Thanks

    • @BoorayPerry
      @BoorayPerry  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use whatever I have available. The best case scenario is to have someone holding it for you because then you can just tell them to move around. Second would be an actual stand and third would be to hold it in your hand

    Hi mate, the Aussie guy again thank you for your video it's really bizarre. I've been dabbling in portraits now for a little bit of time just friends and stuff getting into it as I'm a landscape photographer but I do want to get into some portrait photography and I've had this kind of swirling thought in my head about speed lights versus fixed lights as I call them and you just about all of my questions. I saw Ulanzi with one too. There's quite a few brands around it would also be a really good video. If you could actually set the video light up to show us where you put it. I know that sounds like a dumb question but where do you actually put it in relation to the person you're photographing.

      The starting point for all lighting when it comes to people is usually 45°.

    Godox just came out with a new trigger "XNano" that negates your trigger challenge. There's a time and situation for flash and/or COB. One size does not fit all - yet.

      Do they make one for Fuji?

    I’m waiting for my Fuji X100VI just like you are. Received an email from B&H apologizing for not knowing when they will fulfill the order. Tres bummed.
    I use a very small 56 LED for my artificial light situations. I don’t know how to use flash. Flash setups can be as complicated and expensive as you want to make them. I primarily do street photography . Unless you are Bruce Gilden there isn’t much of a need to learn this skill.
    For me, an ignorant flash photographer, the LED is best. I am a Fuji user so I have mirrorless bodies. The LED is a good solution for artificial light situations because of the WYSIWYG feature. I get to previsualize the image without taking test images. In addition, once the subject is use to having the light on them they won’t squint when the flash is fired. I do this all the time when photographed with a flash.

    being lit by a video light strong enough to over power the sun, it wouldn't be very pleasant to stand in front it.
