My over engineered deck was made from 2x4s on edge with 3/16 spacers between them. This deck is the 3rd one at the folks house and usually lasts about 20 years.
Would it suffice to use 4 stringers for 36" width stair at 12" oc for the Trex Enhance Naturals? According to Trex documentation, I need to use 9" oc. I already have installed the stringers so wondering if I could just add blocking to support the treads. Any thoughts? Thanks
The Trex composite material is very strong, but it is bendy. My personal opinion is that 12" OC would be fine, but you might get a little flex in the step that makes you feel uncomfortable when going down the steps. 9" OC would pretty much guarantee zero flex.

I've been wondering why there's a lumber shortage.....now I know 😊
It's because they want to raise the price of lumber
You need to add riser backing to finish the riser framing as well.
That's how you build a deck when you have 500+lb in-laws coming over for cook-outs.
Oh my gosh that's a lotta wood!

Wouldn't you want the blocking in two pieces
The blocking I use here is primarily to act as a target area for screwing in the steps, so I only need it between the outer stringers.
I bet those picture frames corners didn't hold up know that it's been a year
