Straight up dying over here about the "is that a drill" comment. Literally just got in an argument with my wife and daughter about the proper name for my IMPACT DRIVER. Also just put in my notice at work. Going out on my own 11/10/23. Thanks for always encouraging!!
I use the corner/edge of the blade to cut through old plaster. Works well for me. Once the mesh is exposed, if there is any, use the teeth. In my 90 year old house, most of the walls were pure plaster and lath and the only mesh I found was from a partial kitchen renovation done in the 50's or 60's - that's where I found all the dangerously hacked (and hidden) electrical work too.
I did a whole house demo on a 5 bedroom house that I thought was going to be easy because it was drywall. It turned out to be drywall over plaster with metal lath that was over the original plaster with wood lath. Luckily I was still hourly at the time.
FYI: Impact drivers are meant for drilling. That is why they make special drill bits with a hex shaft. Very handy but it is not as efficient as a drill if you are going to be doing a lot of holes. You can buy sets of the hex shaft drill bits (generally also have a shorter flute section). Makes it easy to carry a selection in your tool belt.
We had old alcoholic master/ licensed plumber, electrician, carpenter, contractor, professor of engineering inform me you don’t use impact drivers in home construction, that is for working on vehicles. I upset him when I informed him that I wasn’t a professional, I was just hired to come in behind you and fix your screw ups. Lol
@@TheHandyman1ah one of the many many great pros to being self employed, I spend every November, December and January at the deer camp with the the exception of thanksgiving and Christmas Day! Good luck this season!

A grinder always helps me alot when going through that lathe. Especially when I can see the other side like this it saves them pricy multitool blades
You should put a fake treasure map in the wall cavity

You spelled "skills" wrong in your headline. Love the videos.
I did a whole house demo of plaster and lath, as an electrician because I chose a bad company to work for 😂. I don’t wish that hell on anyone.

I can't cut drywall straight to save my life 😂
Spanish Mackerel? Wha? You said what it meant, but never heard that term. Too funny. Would love to find out how that started.
What is DRYWALL ?
I can't believe some people's dont know what an impact driver is / Makita is best

Those bits you are talking about are for a quick connect adapter that goes on a real drill. NOT an impact driver.
The ones I have are rated and labeled for impact use. I have been using tools since before your parents were born.
That's hilarious.
