    $6500 is a lot just for the floor, vanity, and lighting fixture. I just re-did my bathroom for around 3k and I tiled the floors, new toilet, new tub, tiled around the tub for the shower, installed a new vanity, baseboards, lighting fixture and painted it.

      Did you charge yourself labor? You think this guy should be working for free? Or is it ok to charge the client so he can pay bills and eat food?

      Thank you, I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering if he meant this would have been a $6500 remodel if you hired it out. I am going down to the studs for mine and have the same budget as yours (its a hopeful budget but still)

      So what would be the right price to charge? That took him days, prepping, problem solving, skills and tools. A contractor would of charged double and have other people do it for $12 an hr.

    Great Job that having been said, Wow that tub and shower valve are Jacked up, A $20 buck builder light fixture with a mail order Wayfair cabinet.
    the reason you remodel a bathroom or a space is to bring everything up to date to add value and decor to that space for future resale and value.
    I get that you are dealing with a budget amount but don't settle for less than total completion to that area. If that 20 year old shower valve goes bad or the 20 year old tub cracks or develops a leak all things to consider when remodeling.

    yeah I can't believe that was 6500. You didn't do anything with the shower area, reused the toilet, and repurposed a light fixture. That must be really expensive tile and vanity.

    I had one of those same sink drains a while back and had the same issue. Found a place on the sink that I thought was causing the leak and could not get it to stop. Finally used a little silicone on the top part and Rector Seal T Plus 2 on the threads....worked like a charm. I use that stuff on almost everything now.

    I've heard of 11k powder rooms, it all depends on location and weather or not you want to actually be able to afford to do anything but work. I'm sure you can hire two guys for 150 a day each. but you'll have to buy them tools, pick them up in the morning, make them lunch, buy them beer, probably get robbed and then end up with everything installed up side down and backwards. leaks everywhere and a fire hazard or two. expensive is cheap and cheap is expensive.

    First thing you RAWK! Appreciate your Chanel very much. I got an off-topic question. As a handyman, I do work for a PMC. I drove out of town to repair a running toilet. I did the basics. The new flapper adjusted the float, and it needed a new handle with the arm for the chain to hook to. This toilet was older and arm corroded to the point the chain hole completely disintegrated. That was actually the problem. Anyways, the toilet worked. Showed tenant. 2 weeks go by, and I get an email go warranty. It's running again. I called the customer. How often does this happen. It only happened once. I get there record the whole thing with phone. The customer stands right next to me. Works 8 times in a row. He says it's weird. I'm not sure why it did it "that one time last week." I'm guessing that a piece of the old decaying flapper or something got stuck for a second that flushed out. The toilet is totally gross inside the tank and everywhere. I had to drive 35 minutes each way and pay myself and the office staff to email and send videos, etc. I charged my minimum fee for that area. PMC wants to know why. Lol... Do you think I should charge? Any advice?

      You think 6500 is a realistic price for a full bath remodel? You either live in a very low COL area or are unfamiliar with the pricing of stuff like this. Where I live, this job would be 7k or 8k easily and no one touches a shower or tub for less than 6k.

  • @mikecallari1288
    @mikecallari1288 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The bathroom turned out great. Just wondering why you did not put any silicone between the bottom edge of the back splash and the vanity top? I put a tiny bead of clear silicone there so it does not even squeeze out from the front leaving less chance of visible mold forming on the silicone. Do you think over time the drywall along the left edge of the vanity top may get messed up because there is no side splash? Did the customer request you to replace the light after most of the work was already done, otherwise would you suggest doing that step before the vanity / mirror was in you way? (It is also annoying since you already painted the room and now you have an outline from the old light showing at the 10:10 mark).

    $6,500 my arse…..the vanity is about $400 the mirror $70, the light $15, mosaic tile $500, thinset and wonderboard $50, rubber toilet ring $10. So you didn’t spend more than $1,100 in materials and you are telling people this is a $6,500 job, what a disgrace.

      @@tryan7 exactly right a fair profit….get paid $300 a day because of your skills but don’t tell me you want to make $1,000 or more a day…get lost.

    Why? Why? Why? Use that old looking mirror and old light bar? I have no decorating talent but I know that is not good looking.

    What a hack, I would be pissed with the quality. The vanity has gaps all around it and floating off the floor. Mirror is very dated look, old fixtures. Why don’t you just title this robbing customers for a living. Looks very cheap

      The customers designed and purchased everything. I'm just the installer.
