My mom and her friend in high school were vacationing with my grandparents in Gatlinburg TN. They were allowed to go out on their own while my grandparents did their own thing. My mom saw her friend talking to this dude, being flirty etc and got really uncomfortable with it, and with him. He was in his 30s, going out of his way to talk to this highschooler. So she convinced her friend to leave, and a short while later she noticed the guy following them. Her friend was all "it's okay, dont worry about it, he just happens to be shopping in the same shops as us" but my mom had this feeling in her guts. After noticing him getting closer in one shop, she pulled her friend out the back door, and ducked into a candy shop. The owner saw how upset she was and asked what was wrong, when she told him he let them through the backdoor in his shop, told them he would hold the guy up and told them the quickest way to get back to their hotel from there. They made it back safely. And went home later that day. The next week they saw a news report about a man who had killed two teenagers in that area, it was the same man, and the two teenagers looked similar to my mother and her friend. Same hair color, body shapes, eye colors etc. My mother always taught me to trust that feeling in your gut, and I can see why now.

I was almost kidnapped by a truck driver walking to my mom's car from somewhere. she's a hairdresser and there was a friend of hers who worked in a residential area and she sold us product. It was part of this big chain my Mom used to work for. One morning before work we went passed to get her product and she parked further up the street on someone's outside lawn. I got out and walked to the driveway of this place and got no answer after 10 minutes of ringing and waiting. So I started walking back up. A large truck was driving slowly up the hill and slowed when it saw me, I noticed it and ran for her car. My Mom saw this and blasted her hooter so loud that he got spooked and picked up speed. I made it to her car safely but we were able to trail the guy and get the company name on his truck. My stepdad almost drove to the company and ripped them to shreds. This happened 3 years ago and I always watch the road when I have to go back.

I always carry a knife with me everytime I go out for a jog, walk or bike. I got suspended from high school because of the same reason but that never stopped me from being armed due to this kind of situation

The last story was a little bit far-fetched. If she was that afraid of her life why would she have ever continued to get in the car with him? No job would be worth risking your life over and I’m sure if she had mentioned something to her boss or something she would’ve gotten a ride sooner. It just doesn’t make sense that she would’ve gotten back into the car with him the next day and she literally broke down afraid for her life each time. I understand why she did. When ur naive and young it's really easy to feel like u don't want to be rude. I've let alot of things slide for exactly that reason. I realize now I was enabling that behavior despite how wrong I felt. I've been molested by 2 different men in my youth and raped by a different set of 2men in my teenage years. I get why she got in the car again. Obviously it's not the best decision but what can I say, some of us Doubt ourselves too much to believe our own intuition, unfortunately. A comment on the last video, I am so glad she is still alive and I am amazed that she was able to keep her head in that situation. It probably kept her alive. But I think if she would have went into Walmart, she could have made a run for it and it would all be seen on cctv. I am so glad all the young ladies made it out alive. I've had friends get locked out of accounts before. He claims they were hacked. If you get a friend request from someone you know you already added, ask them a question you won't find on facebook like "what did I get you for Christmas last year?" "What's your mother's name?" ect.
I prefer it when people don’t have upload schedules. Instead of forcing content out and having a decent amount of it be half-assed, Rob’s content is always amazing.

Glad to see new videos from you again, Rob. That said, the first story was cliche, and almost a meme. Overprotective mom, "I shouldn't have worn normal clothes", "I watch too much Law & Order, so I'll investigate", "the driver saw my house, but never came after me again". These things are in EVERY white van story. The SVU line was extra cheesy. The second story was creepy. I enjoyed that one. The third story is less a story about a creeper, more a story about an idiot.
I really got into listening to TH-cam about 6 years ago, and Robs videos were my first binge channel, I’d wait for the new videos. I’m glad you are still posting videos.
Usually hate the adds but Rob makes them so entertaining and so funny they are as good as the stories even better sometimes. Easily one of the best channels on TH-cam!
That last story really ticks me off; I don't care how badly a person needs money - if they know the person who is giving them a lift is an untrustworthy creeper (not a suspected creeper; but a confirmed one), and that person still gets in the car with them after narrowly escaping the previous encounter, they're are not a victim. Worse yet, she didn't alert her landlord, or report the incident - which does nothing but gives that creepy free reign to try again with someone else.
She is a victim. Regardless of how many times she got into that car she is still a victim. You must have a decent supply of money. She needed the job, because she was hours away from anyone she knew. She had no other ride, and this was likely way before uber etc. Most small towns don't have taxis. So what would be better?? Walking? No. Yes, she should have reported it. But she is still a victim. People do what they feel like they have to do, to survive and if that means putting yourself in a bad spot to get by, some people do it because they feel they have no other option. But that still doesn't mean they aren't victims, when things go wrong.
I know from personal experience that fear for your life does weird things to your common sense, especially if you're in a toxic work environment or unsure of your work environment. It took me months to report my coworkers' sexual harassment towards me because I was terrified if I did no one would believe me. When I finally did report it, sure enough, my boss claimed she could "tell I was lying" because she's "a woman too, so I know how you think," and I "cry to much, so you're clearly faking it."

This happened to me when i was overseas. I had 2 strangers come up to me when i was going to a shopping centre and told me that i was an Aussie cause of my accent. They gave me a story that thier niece was travelling to Australia to work as a nurse in Sydney and at this point i stupidly said i live in sydney. They then asked me to come to their house and explain that sydney wasnt a bad place and that thier niece was going to be ok. At first i was hesitant then i was suspicious as they cpuldnt tell me which hospital she was going to work at. I then lied about what part of Sydney i was from and where i was staying on my holiday. So she gave me her mobile so i could call her the next day to meet up with them which i didnt. A few weeks later when i was at home i heard a story from a facebook group for that country warning people of a husband and wife combo telling foreigners to come to their house for tea only to drug them and rob them of all thier belongings then dumping them in a back alley somewhere. Im glad i trusted my gut feeling and went the other way.

That Boston story feels super personal for me, I have a friend who was in Boston for a business trip and brought his younger sister with him since it was in the middle of summer vacation. One day as I was browsing Facebook in the middle of the night I saw his frantic post about how his sister has gone missing, he’s already contacted the police but he was also furious because they didn’t take him seriously. Fortunately, I have an uncle who works for the FBI, I called him and asked if there was anything he can do to help, to my sheer horror he confirmed right away that his unit had been assigned the investigation of a string of human sex trafficking in the Boston area where me friend was staying and told me that my friend’s case might be a much needed breakthrough, so I put him in contact with my friend. Two weeks later my friend returned from his trip and told me that they found his sister, but she died in the sex hell hole before the police got to her, though he still thanked me for my help. I later learned from my uncle that the place his team busted was just one part of a larger organization, possibly an international one, and that my friend’s sister was shot execution style, probably because the assholes running the place saw the police coming and wanted to eliminate witnesses or whatever. Makes me so sad that these things, stuff that you’d usually associate with crime drama, is actually real and takes place in the world in who knows how many places.

That said, the first story was cliche, and almost a meme. Overprotective mom, "I shouldn't have worn normal clothes", "I watch too much Law & Order, so I'll investigate", "the driver saw my house, but never came after me again". These things are in EVERY white van story. The SVU line was extra cheesy.
The second story was creepy. I enjoyed that one.
The third story is less a story about a creeper, more a story about an idiot.

Usually hate the adds but Rob makes them so entertaining and so funny they are as good as the stories even better sometimes. Easily one of the best channels on TH-cam!
That last story really ticks me off; I don't care how badly a person needs money - if they know the person who is giving them a lift is an untrustworthy creeper (not a suspected creeper; but a confirmed one), and that person still gets in the car with them after narrowly escaping the previous encounter, they're are not a victim. Worse yet, she didn't alert her landlord, or report the incident - which does nothing but gives that creepy free reign to try again with someone else.
She is a victim. Regardless of how many times she got into that car she is still a victim.
You must have a decent supply of money. She needed the job, because she was hours away from anyone she knew. She had no other ride, and this was likely way before uber etc. Most small towns don't have taxis.
So what would be better?? Walking? No.
Yes, she should have reported it. But she is still a victim. People do what they feel like they have to do, to survive and if that means putting yourself in a bad spot to get by, some people do it because they feel they have no other option. But that still doesn't mean they aren't victims, when things go wrong.
I know from personal experience that fear for your life does weird things to your common sense, especially if you're in a toxic work environment or unsure of your work environment. It took me months to report my coworkers' sexual harassment towards me because I was terrified if I did no one would believe me. When I finally did report it, sure enough, my boss claimed she could "tell I was lying" because she's "a woman too, so I know how you think," and I "cry to much, so you're clearly faking it."
I've recently discovered this channel so I'm watching alot of older content ...so far I'm pleasantly surprised. This channel is gold

This happened to me when i was overseas.
I had 2 strangers come up to me when i was going to a shopping centre and told me that i was an Aussie cause of my accent. They gave me a story that thier niece was travelling to Australia to work as a nurse in Sydney and at this point i stupidly said i live in sydney. They then asked me to come to their house and explain that sydney wasnt a bad place and that thier niece was going to be ok. At first i was hesitant then i was suspicious as they cpuldnt tell me which hospital she was going to work at. I then lied about what part of Sydney i was from and where i was staying on my holiday. So she gave me her mobile so i could call her the next day to meet up with them which i didnt. A few weeks later when i was at home i heard a story from a facebook group for that country warning people of a husband and wife combo telling foreigners to come to their house for tea only to drug them and rob them of all thier belongings then dumping them in a back alley somewhere. Im glad i trusted my gut feeling and went the other way.

That Boston story feels super personal for me, I have a friend who was in Boston for a business trip and brought his younger sister with him since it was in the middle of summer vacation. One day as I was browsing Facebook in the middle of the night I saw his frantic post about how his sister has gone missing, he’s already contacted the police but he was also furious because they didn’t take him seriously. Fortunately, I have an uncle who works for the FBI, I called him and asked if there was anything he can do to help, to my sheer horror he confirmed right away that his unit had been assigned the investigation of a string of human sex trafficking in the Boston area where me friend was staying and told me that my friend’s case might be a much needed breakthrough, so I put him in contact with my friend. Two weeks later my friend returned from his trip and told me that they found his sister, but she died in the sex hell hole before the police got to her, though he still thanked me for my help. I later learned from my uncle that the place his team busted was just one part of a larger organization, possibly an international one, and that my friend’s sister was shot execution style, probably because the assholes running the place saw the police coming and wanted to eliminate witnesses or whatever. Makes me so sad that these things, stuff that you’d usually associate with crime drama, is actually real and takes place in the world in who knows how many places.
