    When you setup a BMS balancer cables, they all go on negatives with the exception of the last one that goes to positive. Balancers only balance by the negative cable. Will be better to explain that goes to B0, B1, B2, B3 and B+. Nice video.

    Hi and thanks for this useful video !
    I wanted a battery with the best BMS, so I chose one with a Daly Smart BMS 4S 12v200A (with bluetooth).
    But the battery can't charge.
    So I opened it. And I saw that one connector was the wrong size. It's the connector with 4 red and 1 black.
    When I connected it correctly, the battery screen was finally on (68% of charge).
    But the battery still not charging. And no bluetooth.
    To initiate the BMS, I tried to connect P- and B-, and the charger turned ON. But when I stop connexion P-/B-, the charger turns OFF.
    Do you think the BMS is dead ?

    Excellent video and very clearly explained in brief. We connected the balancing terminals to batteries, NTC is connected. We shorted the P- and B- terminals and tried to switch on the supply of 60V for a 52V Li-ion battery, 100 AH for around 6seconds. Still we are unable to charge the batteries through Daly 16s BMS. Any inputs please.....

    then i connected the bms wires, everything was fine, 1 =4,15 2= 8.3 and so on, but when i soldered the b- to the - port of the battery and measured the b- port and the + port of the battery it showed me 25.5 volts... i dont really know why... maybe you can help`?

      I noticed when the voltage of BMS is lower than battery voltage? The BMS is not turned on. Must have charge current on, after shorting B- P-, try pushing the blue tooth dongle switch, was also told you can try to run a jumper from pins 1 to 3 where the light board plugs in. I'm guessing the light board has a momentary switch that acts as an on off switch. Instructions are horrible from Daly.

    Hello... I am currently in the process of connecting a 200 amp Daly bms to a 340 ah battery bank that is connected in a 2p4s configuration. I had the same issue as you where the voltage of the P- wire was around 9 volts where as the battery bank is 13.20 volts. Is that normal ? According the to Daly instructions the voltage at the P- wire is supposed to be the same as the B- wire.

    I've done all these are steps and can't get the BMS to wake up. Could the temp sensor calibration be a reason that it's not waking up? It was 36 F outside during my attempt. My inverter powered up with a load but when I removed the bypass jumper between B- and P- it shut down. BMS app isn't seeing BMS. Voltages on balance leads are good. • @CurrentConnected

      It allows the inverter to turn on and kick into "charging" mode, if the charger didn't see battery power it wont turn on. Then, when I stop touching them the power is re-routed through the BMS to activate it.

    Hi, I have a brand new DeliGreen 8S 24V 150A, and then follow exactly the same steps as on your video, but NO SUCCESS, I repeated it again and again, still with no success. Tried some other ways (checking the resistant between B- and P- to get 0 Ohm, also did not success, never get 0 Ohm, always showing somewhere around 300 Ohms). The BMS still won't activate. My battery is around 26.74 Volt, is this voltage too high for the charger? I have tried to charge it with 30V, but still no success. Can this be a faulty BMS? How many volt should I charge the battery, if the battery is still having 26.74V. Is 30V charger not high enough, to activate the BMS? In may case, on the last steps, if I unplug again the power from the grid, then the inverter will switch off and will not take the electricity from the battery... (because BMS is still not active = B- to P- still has around 300 Ohms).....

The trick of shorting the B- P- together briefly did it so we now have two Daly BMS's short spark when shorting but expected that now I need to adjust Epever setting as I had lead-acid leisure batteries before. Connect the charger to P-, touch together P- and B- so the charger sees voltage and activates, then once the charger starts up stop touching together B- and P- and the charger will continue charging, and it also will already have woken up the BMS.

I am not sure if the BMS will take care of the charging (constant current/constant voltage) .Do it need a special Lithium ion charger or just a DC power supply.The DALi wire diagram and wiring instructions do not specify anything.

    Good evening CC... I have an unrelated question that you may wish to answer..? I have two solar generators and would like to power both at the same time using one 180 watt solar panel (instead of a separate for each).. Realizing that the sogens cannot be connected together in any way, my solution would be to provide the necessary branch mc4's for each sogen and isolate each branch with an inline mc4 fuse which already has the diode built in to prevent vdc back charging. Your thoughts..??

    • @CurrentConnected
      @CurrentConnected  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think one unit will pull down the voltage to reach maximum power point, then the other unit would fight with the first unit. Your best bet is to try and feed the solar into one generator, then plug the ac power input from the second one into the first one. Try at your own risk, but I don't think your idea will work very well.

    • @pjf7943
      @pjf7943 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CurrentConnected I know of the normal way to connect two sogens. But, I would use the vdc blocking diodes (already built into the inline fuses) to prevent vdc from being fed back into each leg of both positive leads of the two mc4 branch legs so that vdc cannot be swapped across the branch, the same as bms does between the solar panel and battery, or solar panel into a sogen....

      @@littlebill2601 it does come with the main leads and balancing/cell voltage leads. I ordered mine from the current connected store and it also came with the Bluetooth module, hardwired to USB connector and the temperature sensor. Also the gentleman who runs the store is excellent, would highly recommend buying from him.

    Even better than folding those fine wires, you should apply Ferrules to them appropriate to the wire gauge, then crimp the ferrule in the ring terminals. Much stronger. Ferrules should be used on all wires that are compression fit for a grab, instead of on bare wire.
    I just did my Daly BMS wires and the ferrule/terminal method worked great to where the heat shrink on the terminal grabs the plastic of the ferrule.

    the complete disregard for any safety in this video is truly scary, anyone with zero experience handling batteries seeing this video will think there's zero danger and that everything shown here was safe. Too bad the dislike button does nothing now, this video might cause people to die.
