This little video series wants to give the viewer insights into the countless beautiful, amusing, kind and nice encounters which the TorPedyellow and its velonaut experience on their runs.
"Wow - a Velomobile"
Today we are going to enjoy the thumbs up and other spontaneous signs of friendliness shown.
From infant to pensioner everybody enjoys to meet a velomobile and some of them show their delight openly sometimes. Here I have compiled some nice examples.
Why is that?
Children mostly see a great toy when they look at the velomobile and therefore they show an unashamedly joy in it. They often want to hitch a ride and press their parents immediately to buy them such a thing.
In our velomobile we do not tower above them as they are used to by adults all the time. This may make it easy for them to meet us unreservedly, smile at us, laugh out loud or wave to us.
But also adults see us more as funsters than as grim ambitious bicycle athletes.
Because we don't look down on them but from our driving position we have to look up to them.
We are usually smiling because driving a velomobile is so much fun, doesn't take much of an effort and therefore we can afford to look into the world stress-relieved.
And - as is well known - smiling is infectious.
Besides, it always has been beneficial not to take oneself too serious.
