  • In today's video, we will uncover the mastermind of how a Nigerian Scammer named Emmanuel Nwude who is best known for his involvement in one of the largest banking scams in history that occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s against a Brazilian bank named Banco Noroeste
The fraud began in 1995, when Nwude, pretending as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Paul Ogwuma, contacted Nelson Sakaguchi, a senior executive at Banco Noroeste. Nwude persuaded Sakaguchi that the Nigerian government had awarded a $389 million contract to a consortium to build an airport in Nigeria.
Nwude then invited Sakaguchi to invest in the business, guaranteeing him a high return on his money. Sakaguchi agreed and transmitted around $242 million to various bank accounts managed by Nwude and his accomplices over the course of several years.
However, the swindle was finally exposed, and Nwude was imprisoned in 2004. In 2005, he was sentenced to 25 years in jail after being charged with various charges of fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering.
The Nigerian scammer was also involved in many other fraud schemes, including a $1.5 million scam involving the selling of a fake airport and a $10 million scam involving the sale of a fake oil refinery.
Ultimately, Emmanuel Nwude's fraudulent actions established him as one of Nigeria's most known scammers. His frauds cost victims millions of dollars and ruined Nigeria's banking industry's image.

Credit where credit is due: Emmanuel's negotiating skills really showed during the meeting in London. Bringing all of the receipts he needed to make it look legit and providing all of the transportation and hotel amenities expected of a government official, you would expect a run of the mill scammer to be very hasty and pushy about closing the deal after all those expenses. But Emmanuel did the opposite, stayed calm under pressure and threatened to walk away when pressed about their suspicion, encouraging the other party to be the hasty one instead.

Emmanuel's negotiating skills were awesome, highly educated with money and could not be doing real business, that is a truly dumb. Even though his bluff was outstanding, but at the end of the day he got burned because he was playing with fire, there is no way he could think he can get away with that kind of scam.

and I wanted to let you know Emmanuel Nwude and his accomplices spent 25 years in jail and had all their assets CONFISCATED
HIS grace was he lived long enough to come out of prison to start trying to reclaim property he had before the crimes
You may say yes he had something because he was the director of Union Bank formerly Barclay’s Bank of Nigeria - Nigeria’s second biggest bank in throughout the 20th century now 6th or 7th

Nigerians are not famous for this. That's just looser talk! This negative stereotype is caused by a combination of jealousy and ignorance. Indians, Malaysians, white Europeans, African Americans.... they all scam people too. Do your research buddy Nigerians are hands down the most hardworking and the most educated minority group in the United states. Furthermore, about 10 years ago a friend of mine was scammed by an Indian man that said he had the answers to a licensing exam that needed to be passed soon, and to use a payapp to send money to a person in India.

Nigeria does have financial control laws (Section 419 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria), the problem is most of these '419' crimes are committed overseas and the 'clean hands rules' deters a lot of victims from coming forward. Also most significant is that the 'fraud lords' have a lot of money at their disposal to corrupt the judicial process. The industry is based on human greed... if it's too good to be true...

Sakaguchi agreed and transmitted around $242 million to various bank accounts managed by Nwude and his accomplices over the course of several years." - you can already tell it's a coordinated effort with that corrupt senior executive. Even a low level bank officer will first do a due dilligence, let alone a senior executive. A simple check with the relevant ministry will show the truth of the project. Pretending to be a Central Bank Governor? LOL. That simple? Not smart at all. A very stupid scam! It only worked because of corruption at many levels.

I remember getting the offer from Nigeria that I will become the owner of the Oil fields in Nigeria....in the year of 1989 or something. But before I travel to Nigeria I did check and call Bank of Nigeria and when I ask for the Governor and stated his name...They told me that the guy signed the documents and he told me that he is a governor is not known in the Bank! Amazingly I hear a story that one guy from my country got similar documents and he flu to Nigeria...and never returned...

I don't believe this.....normally they only interested in your money. There are many expatriates who fly in and out of Nigeria every day and honestly it's a small number of Nigerians who do this. Problem is Nigeria is a big country so .01% of the population involved in this is over 10,000 people , small % but the numbers look big

If the man sold an imaginary airport then he should have received an imaginary cheque for $242 million.
