    Nice video! I’m 3,000km in on my V2SF & loving every minute. I think the lead designer for Ducati on this bike was Sam McCafferty…..met him amazing young man. Have the same mirrors & also ordered the Rizoma reservoir mounts. Removing the rear pegs & adding the single seat cowl looks even better. If you are allowed to in your country the best single thing you can do is install a slip-on & tune the whole character of the bike & riding experience is taken to another level of fun! The factory Akrapovic is crazy expensive kind of defeats the point of Ducati’s “budget” sports bike, I installed the Arrow titanium slip-on & flashed the ECU with Brentune from the USA for half the cost - sounds & rides amazing makes epic sounds now with all the pops & bangs! 🎶

    The V4 and V2 could have a better fuel gauge, the people at DUCATI did not put a fuel control on the panel, Range, there is only the gauge to fill up, even the Suzuki GSXS 1000 has more technology, at this point, DUCATI was in debt .

    Hooligan? This thing has no power until 8500 rpm, and then it quickly becomes time to shift. This engine makes sense in a panigale on track, it's useless in a street bike because you have to be at high speeds in low gears to have any power. More aggressive sprockets could help I suppose.
    It does feel extremely light and agile though.
    Budget components all over the place, fit and finish isn't amazing for the price. There's not even cruise control or fuel gauge. The seat has a built in heater and vibrator, maybe some people like it. The engine feels like it wants to die at lower revs.
    Base tuono v4 costs a little less, has better components and more features, and absolutely wipes the floor with it. So does mt-10, so does s1000r. Or one can just get a slightly used superduke r or even streetfighter v4 (sfv2 is actually more engaging and enjoyable than v4 in my experience, that v4 is also pretty top endy, so it's strong at pretty ridiculous speeds and kind of sedate and boring otherwise, but at least it's not gutless like V2 is under 8500) for similar money or even less than new sfv2.
    890 duke R is more fun according to most reviewers, also comes with better components, features and makes more power and torque for street use until we get to the point where it stops revving and superquadro starts making power after 8500 or so. Street triple and mt09 are similar in that regard while being a lot cheaper, even gsxs1000 could be compared there. Albeit all of these cheaper bikes are much less premium feeling.
    There is no rationality/value in this bike, you only buy it because you love the looks and find V2 to be more sensible than V4 or because you really want a rev happy Ducati V2, or can't afford a new v4 and won't consider used. It kind of tries to slide in-between upper middle weight nakeds and supernakeds without striking a good balance of performance and price.

      No power under 8500 rpm? Have You ever ridden one? True it's not the most torque bike, but it got plenty of torque from 4000 rpm and up, and to be honest, I like it that way, I don't need a wheelie lunatic bike like the 890 Duke R, or the Mt-09, and they are by the way not even in the same league as the SFV2, neither is the Street triple. Yes the Tuono the 1290 SDR, and the speed triple 1200 RS are better bikes, but like the SFV4 they don't really make sense on the road. It will compete well with the Mt-10, the BMW, and the Suzuki, not saying it's gonna be the fastest, but it's not going to be the slowest either 😉 A fuel gauge is really not important, and why do You need cruise control on a naked bike?

    • @volodymyrshoniia2424
      @volodymyrshoniia2424 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@allangrse617 yes, I think it's pretty obvious that I've ridden it back to back with sfv4s and my own tuono v4 (I actually considered getting sfv2 instead of the tuono because of how pretty it is, especially in green, but then tuono is much better for longer rides, higher speeds, highway, and general usability whole costing less money) based on the comparisons that I drew, neither Ducati quickshifter was as smooth as Aprilia btw, streetfighters are easier to ride and more relaxed ergonomically which makes them better for around town riding. Cruise control is amazing for highway riding, fuel gauge is nice to have, not having either is laughable in this day and age. Maybe I'd like something about it more if I rode it back to back with my 690 supermoto, albeit even 690 feels faster because it has torque everywhere and just wants to wheelie all the time while being the most agile thing at lower speeds and tight corners, and the most fun thing to ride around town.
      The gauge screen on sfv2 is laughably small for the price, so is the overall feel. It doesn't feel very substantial (neither does 790/890 duke) because it's so narrow and light, very agile and nice in tighter stuff though. Even 790's engine felt more aggressive and explosive if memory serves me right (tbh it kind of felt too aggressive for how small and light the bike was,890 is a bit smoother from what I've heard; the rest of 790 was pretty bad, the suspension and brakes that is, 890 R fixes all of that), ducati's own testastretta is more usable in a naked platform (albeit it didn't rev high and vibrated way too much in my 821 hyperstrada) due to having more bottom end and midrange than this superquadro nonsense. I guess it reminded me of my 675 street triple R the most, just not as smooth, but also more agile.
      Superquadro has peak numbers, but it doesn't have good usable/enjoyable power for the street, you have to be above 8500 for it to have any hint of excitement. The whole time I rode it in sport mode I thought it was some sort of rain mode. It just feels like you would be riding around knowing you have some decent power, but in order to get to it you have to be in the lowest gear possible and at speeds that you shouldn't be doing around town. Naked bikes need midrange, not top end.
      Once again look at what you get per $$$ and compare to the alternatives. You're basically paying supernaked money for middleweight naked components and performance outside of peak horsepower number which is in liter bikes territory instead of 900ish cc naked.
      You can get a base tuono V4 for less money than Sfv2.
      You can get a base s1000r for less or add some options and still be similar money or cheaper.
      Base MT-10 is a lot cheaper, you can basically get SP for sfv2 money.
      Basically anything else (including actual upper middleweight nakeds that only lose on power) has more/better features/performance/components for less or similar money, or you can just add a tiny bit more of money and get sfv4 or superduke, or tuono factory, or whatever else your heart desires.

    • @allangrse617
      @allangrse617 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@volodymyrshoniia2424 Well I guess we are down to personal preferences then... I think that the gauge screen has the perfect size, and it gives me all the information I need, and cruise control on everything else than touring or enduro bikes is silly. Yes i know the Aprilia better, and it should be, after all it has to compete with the SFV4, I just don't think it's better on the road, it is simply to powerful.
      I owned the Monster 1200s black on black for about a year, I loved that bike, but it was way to torque for me, sure it was fun, but eventually it would cost me my driver license, I'm sorry to say it, but hyper nakeds are just for bragging/showing off.
      Well in my opinion the V2 has plenty of midrange, I think it produces 70-75nm from 4000rpm and start climbing from 6500rpm. The V2 can be pretty dosile which is nice in the city, but it can also be a beast in the twisties were it's build to be, and that's actually what I love about it.
      Yes I think it's pretty clear that the V2 is quite exspensive, but that's the price for a premium handmade bike.
      Okay can you please tell me which better and more features/components/performance the GSXS, MT-10SP, CB1000R, and the s1000r has?
      Another fun thing is, that the V2 isn't even Ducati's top naked, but it compete with Suzuki's, Yamaha's, Honda's and BMW's top naked, i'm gladly paying extra for that 😉

    • @volodymyrshoniia2424
      @volodymyrshoniia2424 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@allangrse617 everything is personal preference, it all depends on our reference points, what we are used to, and what we want. I want excitement and drama as well as usability, streetfighter is pretty docile/sterile and not very usable with it's lack of cruise control, fuel gauge, wind protection (can stick some ugly screen on), I guess we can stick some luggage on. Anyway people can spend their money and time however they see fit, whatever makes them happy, it's just better when they get an opportunity to try everything there is so they are not missing out on something that would fit them better.
      The truth is it can't compete with anything because of its price. The author of the video and you are making excuses for something that is inexcusable at this price point. Anything that is close in price absolutely crushes it in performance, level of components and features, anything that is close in performance is a lot cheaper and still crushes it on features. Ducati put it into an in-between spot.
      As I said, it's a good looking machine that is terribly overpriced, the only rational reasons to get one are:
      A) you want a rev happy V twin, there really isn't anything else out there other than panigale which is the same thing but with clipons, some may just go for that instead since streetfighter isn't all that much more practical
      B) you want a pretty Ducati and don't want to pay more for a new one, but also don't want an ugly and overpriced boring beginner bike known as the new monster
      C) you find hypernakeds too intimidating and want to tone it down a bit
      People who want an actual upper middle weight are more likely to get their 890 duke R which is more fun and agile but a lot less premium, or street triple RS which is perhaps even more refined than SF, or mt-09 which is a total mess but cheap, or a cheap z900 (no cruise or quick shifter there) for i4 experience. All more usable bikes.
      People who don't mind spending sfv2 money can go for base version of tuono v4, mt10(doesn't have to be base there), s1000r with all of them being a lot more bike for the money in comparison and also a lot more usable. Others will add a little more money or get slightly used versions of hypernakeds, I've seen SFV4 with barely any miles for less than Sfv2 (don't forget to add destination fee and other nonsense).
      The engine is a V2 that needs to be ridden like an i4 because it's gutless and the only way it makes a high peak power number is by revving higher and sacrificing bottom end and midrange. You'll rarely get any kick out of that engine without speeding a lot, you can also say even this bike is too fast for most roads, especially because the revs where it gets exciting are pretty high.
      Japanese don't really make any hyper nakeds. Zh2 is more of a heavy muscle bike, but then you could get one for similar money to sfv2 (zh2 SE were $20K OTD near me because nobody wants to buy such an expensive Kawasaki, so they just sit on dealer floors with big discounts, sfv2 would be a little more after all of the fees and taxes), mt-10 has always been more about road usable fun and not that much performance, sp comes with electronic suspension, so does s1000r which is also made for the road and isn't chasing crazy numbers, now they got m1000r for that (will most likely be very top endy just like sfv4).
      Almost any somewhat comparable bike for less or similar money has a decent size dash with actual information like fuel level in it (Ducati likes making excuses about the shape of the tank which is supposedly also going to be better ergonomically next year, somehow hypermoturd doesn't have a fuel gauge either) and cruise control that should be standard on any bike that has a throttle by wire. Most of the competitors have m50s or even stylemas as well as higher tier suspension as mentioned above.
      Super nakeds are great all around except for long distance unless you add a windscreen and some luggage. The power is way too much for anything around town, so it's an exercise in self restraint. When you have fun you must avoid looking at the speedo or the fuel consumption.
      Torque is fun for street riding, peak power isn't, usable midrange is. KTMs are fun because they are built to be naked street bikes from the ground up, they have usable and exciting torque and power everywhere instead of taking sport bikes with their peaky engines and trying to turn them into street bikes.
      Anyway it's all about different experiences, lap times don't matter, it doesn't matter what's faster on the road since we can only ride as fast as we can see. What matters is how many smiles we get while riding.
      Sfv2 isn't a bad bike at all, it's just a horrible value proposition (that applies to all ducatis anyway).
      It's very agile, comfy, easy to ride (can be good or bad), but it also lacks features and level of components to match the price point while running hot and vibrating the seat.
      The green one did look great at the dealership the last time I looked, but not $18k+ before fees and taxes good, maybe it rides better than the red one that I tried. Doesn't sound as disgusting as sfv4 either, and it is more engaging than sfv4 which feels like it rides itself, doesn't have the goofy winglets either.
      It would be one of the best bikes out there if it was priced more competitively ($2-3k less, it still has to be more expensive than 890 duke R with electronic unlocks since it has more power and better fit and finish, albeit not as good of brakes and suspension), simple things like cruise control were added (we'll take a fuel gauge too), and if Ducati did more work with tuning the engine to make the midrange stronger or at least internal gear ratios to make the power more accessible. I'm sure an exhaust that removes the cat combined with a decent ECU tune unlocks some more power, one can also change the sprockets to make the gearing shorter and help that way, but at the current price level it's just ridiculous, fit and finish isn't good enough for the price level either.

      I've read all u have said, my first thoughts are you've never ridden a v2. I have a 19 tuono 32k kms & sfv2 5k kms, the difference, night & day. The engine, absolutely perfect ridding around the suburbs & then better on the main rds. Its funny what u say happens at 8k rpm, on mine it happens at 4k. This engine is so smooth from 0 to peek revs u don't realize the power unless u are next to a v4. In the "S" bends its Topps with triumph. The electronics, with bmw are at the highest level & the quality & finish unequalled= thats y u pay more.
