- Annie, a black lab who is now more silver and white, is currently living out a bucket list and being showered with love.
Lauren Siler was about to board a plane home to Dallas from Anchorage, Alaska, when she first spotted the frosted face of a senior pup in desperate need.
“I saw her sweet little face sitting in her poor little kennel,” Lauren said.
The dog was featured by an Instagram account that shares information about dogs at Dallas Animal Services that need adopting or rescuing.
Anyone who surrenders a dog to the shelter can leave as much or as little information as they choose.
According to Lauren, the people who dropped off Annie said she had stopped walking and eating. They also disclosed that she was 19 years old.

I would've given almost anything to have 19 years with my Bailey pup. Whoever gave up that dog was a fool.
19 years old that's a stellar life for someone like her she's so beautiful for a dog she is living her most adorable dreams ever
Yes, whomever did has no soul.
Maybe they couldn't afford the vet care?
@@DontrelleRoosevelt No money for vet care?
@@hyokkim7726 maybe ask for help?! or create a gofundme or something...anything!
but don't 'throw away' your dog, esp. a senior. I'm sorry, too many people do that. it's sad and kinda heartless.
I rescued a 19 year-old rat terrier from the Long Beach shelter. ❤️ Kandi was an owner-surrender. She lived another 18 months surrounded by a family who felt blessed and lucky to have such a special dog. We were heartbroken when she passed. 💔
❤
God bless you. You are beautiful people. RiP Kandi
Bless you for loving Kandi to the end.💔
I do the same w/unwanted seniors. The only ones I get now.♥🐾
They’re wonderful dogs! 👍
How cruel to be abandoned after 19 faithful yrs 😢 Those people don’t realize what a blessing they had for their dog Annie to even reach to 19 yrs. Most labs only live to around 12-15 yrs, if you’re lucky. I only wish my Sofie would’ve lived that long 😢💔
@@petrameinecke4847 Bless you!🐾♥🐾♥
How on earth could they let her go?? She still has a zest for life and so glad these ladies (angels) are giving her the best days of her life. You go Annie!!!
If I took in a dog, I'd rather become homeless than abandon him at a shelter. That is part of the deal when you adopt a pet. It's for life.
A black lab that’s 19 years old is a blessing!!! Usually bigger dogs don’t live that long compared to smaller longer lived dogs. Whoever owned this cutie senior doggo is an idiot. Im happy they’re giving this doggo a happy home 💕💕💕
I have had 9 Labradors over the years. They all were loved family members. The longest one ever lived was 13. Annie is a lovely dog, so amazing! Thank you for taking her home.
You sound like a great owner. I'm sure your dogs lived happy lives with you. It sucks they have such short life spans 😢.
Anyone who abandons their elderly dog is a selfish, horrible person. Hope they find out what it feels like to be abandoned and alone. Karma. Glad this pup was adopted.
hearing about people giving up pets because they got old is heartbreaking . Just because a animal gets old does not mean that they should get dumped at a shelter . Elderly pets deserves love and care .
Family abandoned their 14yo lab and we took him in, paid $$$ vet bills, had a great great dog for 2 years. I'd give anything to hear that Woo WOo when it was time for a treat :)
Bless you!♥🐾
I only save seniors for several yrs now.
They’re the best!👍
People who rescue senior animals are a special kind of lovely person.
Thank you!
That’s the only ones I go for, for years now. 6, 7, 9, 10, & 11.
Rehabbed & rehomed many, too. All older dogs 7 - 10 YO.
They had wonderful lives w/their new owners. One 10 YO lived to be just under 17 w/her _great_ owner.
They are the best dogs to get!!! 🐾♥👍
I can't imagine anyone surrendering a 19 year old dog. Our dog is going on 8 years, and we will keep her until the end. Thanks to you wonderful people who are making this poor dog's last months count for something!
She looked like she was eating to me and walking. They gave up on her too soon. I could never do that to an animal - with me for life.
Probably feeding her the nastiest rubbish, without affection, maybe stuck in backyard, alone. Amazing she got to 19!
@@georgielancaster1356 It's pretty presumptuous of you to just come to that conclusion. You have absolutely no clue what the reason was for the owner surrendering his/her dog. It could have been a multitude of things so quit pegging people as evil without knowing any facts at all. At least little Annie was taken to a shelter and not released out in the countryside somewhere.
Annie will live the remainder of her days with two very loving people and she probably had many good years with her previous owner.
@@lynday They certainly didn’t have to lie. And could have provided much more info about her, for her next family.
They probably figured she wouldn’t get one & they’d put her down, so they didn’t have to. :\
We all get old, I hope the old owners don’t get dumped in their twilight years. Why didn’t the previous owners start a go fund me for her senior care instead of abandoning her? They didn’t deserve her. “We can judge the heart of man by the treatment of animals.” (Immanuel Kant)
They should have got a better job or a second job to care for their elderly pet, I certainly would do.
Humans get dumped at nursing homes all the time. Dogs are easily the most spoiled animal species on earth.
@@donnae9566 They could have been elders &/or sick, themselves.
We don’t know.
No excuses for not providing as much info as possible on her, however. :\
Bless these ppl for taking her & for giving her the best final days she can have!♥🐾
These young women are God’s Angels to that sweet senior dog !!!
I like animals more than most humans. Thank goodness some really awesome women took her in and love her.
Annie's previous family were oblivious what a gift they were given when she reached 19 yrs...so glad she has a family now that treasures her.
Why wud anyone surrender a dog who's 19....she's precious 😍😍..
Glad that she's having the most loving moms😍😍😍..she'll live knowing love n care until she's ready to cross the rainbow bridge..🙏🙏
What a beautiful girl, I want to be angry with the morons that gave her up. It's more important to be happy that she is happy now.
I've had my cat for 19 years, I absolutely love him and would do anything for him. We're growing old together and would never give up on each other. He's on the new injectable Solensia to treat his arthritis (equivalent to Adequan for dogs). He's now got a new lease of life.
🐱💚
I absolutely hate to see story about people who abandon their pets when they get older. At least this story has a happy ending for beautiful Annie! 😍
So pathetic that her family left her when she needed them most. Thankfully those ladies are doing what her family was supposed to do.
My own dog is 19 since June this year, I could never let anyone else have her, she's my bestie!
🐕💚
How blessed you are to have had her so long!♥🐾
What kind of dog? Is she still with you?
She was 20 years and 2 days old when I had to put her to sleep. She was a Parson Russell Terrier and I was very fortunate to have such an awesome girl 🥰
@@AB-tr6mq You were both blessed to have each other.♥🐾
So sorry for your great loss you feel. Hope you decide to rescue one, when you feel up to it.
So many in such need.
I look fwd to having all mine in God’s Great Heaven, one day soon. Never to be separated from them again.♥🐾
Along w/fam & friends who are there, too.
And Jesus, Who made it all possible, of course.♥✝🙌
You girls rock! You are the best! Thank you! Hugs!
You both have added more time to her life! It's easy to see she's happy.
Fantastic!!!
The first dog I ever had, was a 15 year old dog from a local shelter. The idea that I could give her a loving home for her last month turned out to be wrong. We had another four years together. She was not easy to handle due to a bad history, but I loved her and we had a good time together.
In had a pup that looks just like Annie. Lost him at 13, would have loved to have had him 19 yrs. ❤️🐾❤️🐾
thanks for sharing...beautiful girl
You ladies a true angels
I have two senior dogs: one is 16 the other is 15. The first one was sold at the market by an old woman. He was the runt of his litter and no one wanted him. The second one was a street dog who was abandoned by her owners at 10. Their faces are already frosted, their movements are slow but their zest for life is endless. They kept me sane especially during the lock downs. Shame on Annie's former owners and all the best to you ladies for giving her the best and brightest moments of her life.
♥🐾🐾♥
Heartless, selfish humans! Dog's love unconditionally they give you years of love and loyalty and for someone to dispose of that wonderful soul in her last years of life is more than sad.
You are among the world’s best people, and I’m so glad that dog found you.
What a handsome dog...so sweet...what's happened to people who think animals are disposable...they don't talk?...I've had 8 to 12 seniors in my decades and I didn't have tons of money but I saw them all right to the end no matter if I had to give up something in my life...come on people what's the matter with are you that heartless?
Thank you for doing that for her.... She deserves to live and thrive with those who will love her unconditionally, just as she does..... Sweet sweet girl!
Thank you for rescuing her. She is adorable 😍 💕
"We're going to let her keep living life". Bravo! If life isn't worth living, what is? Thanks for keeping her alive and warm with blankets of love.
My chihuahua just turned 16 and I am grateful for every day I get to spend with him 🙏
🥰 Annie is beautiful.Thank you for giving her the best senior life 😇❤
This warms my heart ❤ lovely Annie!
You girls are beautiful….!!!
Thanks for showing this precious baby with LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE AND MORE LOVE…..!!!!
No one deserves it more than a 19 year old beauty queen….!!!!
🐾💕🐾💕🐾💕🐾💕🐾💕🐾💕💋X💋X💋X💋X💋X💋X💋X💋X
These gals are the best people ever! cowards surrendered this dog. Hero’s gave her a home.
Awe ❤how adorable Annie looks with her silver hair. 🥹🥹I cried when I saw her but happy to know that these 2 friends are given her all the love and respect she deserves. 🥹💖🙏🙏
Poor Annie , given up!! This is so sad! Thank you for rescuing her and giving her the love she deserves in her last years . ❤️
So sad her previous owner didn't love her like she did them! It breaks my heart beyond words when my fur babies have passed. There is no way no matter the age I could give them up as long I am physically able to take care of them. If you loved them when they were young, and/or when you first get them, you will love them even more when they are old and never want them away from you even when death sadly makes it where they have to be taken away from your life.
Love cures all things! She wasn't feeling like she had a will to keep fighting. Because nobody made her feel like they needed her around. Now! She feels unconditional love and the feeling of being wanted and needed! I bet they get wayyy more time with her than anyone thought!💕🙏🏻
Bless all 3 of their beautiful hearts!
So happy this 19th year old dog found a forever home. If people who arr not truly committed to an animal for life, don't get an animsl. 😮😊😊😊
How incredible!!!!! Sweet Annie!!!
Love how they’ve supported this sweet dog to thrive and be a celebrity at the same time! 🇳🇿🇳🇿🐑🐑NZ
A lab making it to 19 is crazy. I've never seen a black lab with that much grey. Glad she has a good home to spend the rest of her days in.
I adopted my Lab 🦮 at 12 & she got very sick & I had to put her to sleep at 16. How horrible to give up your FAITHFUL pet at any age. 💋🤗💜
Wow…not much gets to me but Annie really tugs at my heart strings…what a beauty 🥰
Every day with a dog is a blessed day.
The blessings that I had after putting my golden retriever on a kind of hospice and took care of her were worth all the difficulties that we dealt with. She was so happy to be with me as we figured out what and when she would eat and when she felt up to go for walks.
Thanks you two for giving Annie a home with love. Tail wags
What a great story..!
Truly GOLDEN years.
Annie is a beautiful girl and will find love happiness and joy ❤️ with her new family bless you girls for taking her and giving her her best life
Beautiful and 19, amazing , thanks ladies for being so kind. She's adorable.
The Pawerful Rescue does awesome work! People need to learn how to treat animals with love and respect!
With all the negative in the world this helps to restore my faith in humanity!!
What piece of garbage would surrender their dog to the shelter at 19? I have to chihuahua mixes that I got when they were 8 weeks old . They turned 19 yrs old on 06-10-23 . And are still kicking . I would under NO circumstance ever ever ever surrender them to a shelter. I could not live with myself for that . I look at it as each day I have with them as a blessing ❤. Thank you for rescuing her .
We adopted our Natasha thinking she was an older dog, but one who could keep up with my then one and a half year old crazy boy. When we got the call that she was ready to come home after filling out her paperwork, the shelter told us she was eleven, which was a little scary, but my mom and I decided that we'd committed to giving her the best life we could, whether that was only for four or five years, or even more like one or two. It's been fourteen months, and this beautiful but sad girl who didn't want to eat or play or anything, has BLOSSOMED after being stuck in a shelter (her human had to go into the hospital and then assisted living, and she seems to have been neglected a little before, probably due to the lady's health situation) for two months. Every day, I am so glad she is with us. I hope she, and Annie, get as much time as possible. Senior dogs are the BEST, and Annie is PRECIOUS.
Yay for the 3 friends that took in this beautiful soul. Pup is blessed and so are the humans.
I honestly couldn't think of surrendering my beautiful 15yr old Bichon, these beautiful people that took that dog are wonderful giving him more life. They are not a toy that you just throw away when they are old they need us till the very end.
You go Annie! Shame on your humans for abandoning you. But You have a most loving and caring new family! Anyone know the Instagram account for Annie??
God bless the friends who took her in. Those folks that surrendered her deserve bad karma forever.
Poor baby. I’m glad you ended up Taking care of her.
What a wonderful story for both these ladies and this sweet dog. Thank you for the inspiration!
She looks happy.
The love from Australia
How could those cruel selfish people abandon her. Well she is in the best place now.
I am blubbering. My Annie just turned 13. She has arthritis but can run for a bit. She is a picky eater, I try to give her something new every couple of days to keep her interest. She barks at everyone who passes on the road and all deliveries and workmen! She has a good life and we will let her and our vet tell us when it is time.
Same here. I'm a 51 years old man. Who said men don't have feelings
They are true friends and you should NEVER give up on them. If you end up living in your car then so do they!
Thank you for loving a senior dog
Thank you so much for making his last days full of love!!
Whoever gave this dog up is
a mind less idiot! A selfish, soulless, self-centered thing taking up space on planet earth..Our Bloodhound just died at 11 years old bled to death, had cancer was given too much medicine which dogs basically can't handle... She was tall, had beautiful long ears, sweet, Loved car rides..If she lived to be 19 I would have been so happy... My heart is 💔 broken!
This person is not even worth walking around.
Dogs are a gift! Anyone that gives them up knows nothing about Love as far as I'm concerned! Thank you for stepping up for this innocent beautiful animal..May you be Blessed always!🙏❤
Annie looks happy ❤ I’m so thankful for the beautiful time she’s spending on her golden years with caring people. As to the people who abandoned her… EVIL. Karma will get you when you’re old.
That guy that you see carrying her is over at Pawerful rescue on you tube check them out for the amazing work that they are doing for animals in need
Can't imagine not being there for my dogs in their last precious moments. They give their love unconditionally for as long as we're lucky to have them.
Wonderful story!
How can someone have a beautiful soul and surrender them at the end of this life's journey? Heartless.....Thank you for making Annie's final months wonderful
Abominable d'abandonner un animal de cet âge. Heureusement qu'il y a encore un peu d'Humanité chez certaines personnes. Je lui souhaite beaucoup d'amour et de caresses. 🥰🥰💓💓💓💓🇫🇷
And she is BEAUTIFUL!
Whoever these people were, as tragic and awful as it was that they gave her up, she seems pretty calm, and well adjusted PLUS she lived several years past her life expectancy. She seems that she was cared for, in the past.
Annie is a beautiful girl and I'm glad these two ladies have her now. Given up because she wouldn't eat or walk? It looked to me as if she was doing both very well. Some people!
That is how my poodle lived up until she passed at 15
You must keep them active
The previous owners were real jerks to give up
Bless you ladies for saving her and giving her the best life she has left. The world needs more angels like you. ❤❤
AWWWW! My little Lab girl's name was Annie too! I only got to have her in my life for 13.5 years! I would have loved to have her for 19!! I never could understand how anyone could give up their baby after all those years! I'm so happy this little girl's life turned out to be a beautiful, loving, magical faerie "tail"!
I had a cat named Ashley who lived for 21 years, physically she was in ok shape, but she ended up with dementia episodes that came more frequently and lasted longer. They made her wander around the house meowing and acting like she didn't know me, or where she was. I cannot imagine having a pet that long and just dropping it off someplace for someone else to deal with. Ashley was put to sleep in my home, comfortably laying on the sofa between me and my vet.
I also adopted a 70 pound dog named, Lacey, who's owners had her for 8 years. They just didn't want her anymore because she was 'old'. Lacey spent almost a year at the shelter, because apparently no one else wanted an older dog, either. She was a lovely, wonderful dog, and she lived to be 13, which is a really nice old age for a dog that big.
Again, I just don't understand people who toss out their pets like the one in the video because it has age issues, or is just an older dog. If they are that heartless, they shouldn't be getting pets to begin with.
You people are absolutely beautiful people. Thank you for giving Annie such a good time. You are all angels.
Thank you for giving her the best life possible ❤ 💜
So loving and caring. Thank you for making her days the best ever. From Cape Town.
What a beautiful story of love and compassion - wish there were more people like this in the world - kudos to both women for letting this dog know happiness and companionship towards the end of her life story! ❤️
What a sweetheart. I hope Annie has more good days than ever expected.
Thank you for your love, kindness and generosity!! 💗
What a sweetheart! So amazing. You ladies are Angel's. Thank you for all the love you are giving this amazing beautiful animal!❤❤❤
Thank you for saving and helping this beautiful dog
