Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano had issues with each other back then so I guess when season 3 ended on that cliffhanger, it wasn’t known if she was going to return. After it was decided that she wasn’t coming back, they had to do the best they could without her. They also weren’t allowed to use her image on the show anymore which explains why there were no pictures of her.
Rewaching this reaction. Rest In Paradise Shannen Doherty 1971-2024 (Prue) That which belongs to fellowship and love. That which belongs to the circle, remains with us. The wheel turns. As life is a day, so our sister has passed into night. Nothing is final, and we who remain behind know that one day, we will once again share the bread and wine with our sister. O' blessed spirit, we bid you farewell, for you await a new destiny.
Like Shannon, Alyssa was a child actor. She had been in the hit 80s sitcom, Who's the Boss? & movies as well. And fun fact, in Disney's , The Little Mermaid , Ariel's face was based on Alyssa's Features.
I think this show would not have transcended into excellence had Prue survived. The grief Piper goes through? It’s so hauntingly real and extremely human. Her trying to go thru denial and thinking alternative scenarios. Also it’s so poetic. The most skilled sister at the time has her life cut short. The foreshadowing was all there. Her constantly jumping into saving innocents and being an extreme risk taker. I think this was needed. We don’t want to lose the gold star child. But it happens and this show can act as a manual to maneuver this most realistic emotion. I love Season 4 despite it being the most darkest season in my opinion. You finished it so that’s why I’m just word rambling. But love this show and I loved what they did.
Oh please, feel free to word ramble any time. 😄 I would like to peer into that alternate universe where Prue stayed for the 8 seasons. It's hard to imagine the show without Paige though. Holly is amazing at portraying grief and heartbreak at the start of this season.
Part 2: th-cam.com/video/MCkAIAv0GiQ/w-d-xo.html Hey everyone. I included every pause and gave as much of an extended cut of this reaction as I could for this special two-part episode. 😢
Prue's death was a huge loss for the series. I've always loved all three sisters, but I have to admit that Prue has always been my favorite. Fortunately, Paige's character is cool, with her own identity. Piper's character follows a very interesting evolution, becoming somewhat of a new Prue, but in her own way. The character most damaged following this change is Phoebe in my opinion: without spoiling, I find that the character gets lost a little, and does not find her place in this new dynamic. And Phoebe, who was the most "witchy" of the three, loses her identity a little (that said, I find that this evolution began in season 3; the character was far too focused on the romance with Cole).
Cole was an interesting character (initially) but I've always said his introduction was the downfall of Phoebe's character who was so great in the first two seasons. And like you said, unfortunately, she never recovered.
The reason why Shannon Doherty was off the series was supposedly because of a feud between her and Milano, which lead to her firing/quitting the series. They've patched things up in recent years, though.
Also Shannen left BH90210 due to conflict with other cast members, I think it was Tori Spelling she had issues with and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen was rumoured to replace her in Charmed as she replaced Brenda, before Rose got it but Paige was written for Rose before she even read the script. In both versions of Charmed the oldest sister dies s3 and a replacement is found in the next season and history repeats itself again and Rose also had issues with Alyssa
Your spin-off idea made me think of the movie Sleepwalkers that stars Brian Krause. lol There's a cop (a black guy) who has a cat named Clovis that hangs out with him in his cruiser. XD
Damn, your idea is brilliant: Prue would indeed undoubtedly be capable, as a spirit, of projecting herself astrally to appear to the living (without being summoned). Grrrrrrr, I'm sure it was Grams who stopped her from doing it 🤣
110% grams stopped her. I stopped thinking about Shannen Alyssa feud a long time ago and I immersed myself in the show. They specifically explained if Prue was appearing as a ghost, they wouldn't be able to move on healthy.
@@hristovapostolTrue... (SLIGHT SPOILER): In season 7, it's revealed that Piper still hasn't fully moved on from Prue's death, despite it being years. That's why Grams never specifies exactly when they'll be able to summon her spirit.
@@hristovapostol last i heard it was still true because people had only seen it once. I, of course, could be very wrong. I like Charmed, but its not in my top listed. But Holly and Rose are lovely to meet

Love that you see McGowan but dont know her.
Shanned owed the missing episode and refused to let it show. I think it was aired once
I thought this rumor was debunked? I wish they show it.

There was a missing episode? What was it about? (Atleast from what you know about it)
