I enjoy this channel Sab, but I’m a little sad as my dog passed away on the 15th November.
Hoping to get a rescue dog in the New Year 🎉

The 2nd "ick" is absolutely the worst there is!!! I have this comment a lot from mainly 30 something men when they see me (as a 56yo 5ft woman) walking my 38kg GSD "oooh who's taking who for a walk?" (Kobi walking in a close heel), "ooohhhh you're lucky he's so well behaved or he'd be dragging you down the street" (actually had that said to me last week!!). Gender bias is a "thing" in the dog world but also there is an ageist element to a lot of the comments too
Loving the shows guys ~ keep them coming 🙂

Totally with you @Sab on landlords and restrictions to having pets in properties, I've never left any property in a poor state and flea bombed them, painted and repaired anything i might have to, yet that doesn't seem to matter much. in the past I've also refuse housing help because they expected me to abandon my pets.

I got my dog from Christmas BUT we planned for 2 years ( I planned for longer as I’d wanted a dog since I was young but 2 years was when the “we are actually getting a dog” became true) and he was born in October 2020 so Christmas was when he turned 8weeks to come home ❤ now his 3 and still my entire world

I found it very moving hearing about Sab choosing to sleep rough with her dog rather than staying in a hostel. I would like to think I would be the same. Great episode guys. Loved Danny's story about the stray in Greece. Merry Christmas ⛄

    Fantastic Christmas episode 🎉🎄🎅🤶🎉
The figures are ridiculous of dogs being given up 😢 humans definitely are failing dogs.
Have a lovely Christmas Jamie, Sab, Danny and production team, all the best for 2024 and looking forward to more dog scholar episodes next year 🎊

@45:08 if “biscuits only” worked for all animals, there would be no need for tickets, fines, or prisons. 👍

When we got our first dog, I had grown up with dogs and knew what was required, my SO had always wanted a dog and had zero experience. We promised that NO MATTER WHAT, once we took them home our dogs would be with us for their natural lives.
Our GSD a year ago developed some significant behavioural issues, and the vets (once they confirmed there was nothing medically wrong with him) and their ‘recommended trainer list 🙄’ told us to give up on him. It took a fair few sessions with UnleashedK9 (Lewis) to get him and I working well, but my lad and I will now have the rest of his natural life together in the same loving home he has known since 8weeks old. He may still be a blockheaded idiot at times 🤣 but he will always be OUR Blockheaded Idiot! 😁👍

Not the happiest of subjects but very appropriate for Xmas. I knew that the statistics were bad but stunned at how high the rate of surrender actually is. Makes me furious... Along with rescues that have such strict criteria for rehoming when there is a rescue crisis. There are people who have live in a flat who have given dogs loving happy homes for many years but won't be given any consideration as they don't have a garden! This along with the whole not training at all whilst with them... No wonder we have a disaster. There is a rescue centre in the Greater Manchester area who operate without kennels. The dogs run free and thereby help to rehabilitate each other and they offer life time back up. Many of the dogs are from abroad, because when they started up no one in the UK was interested. They seem to have good success with matching dogs to new owners around the NW... Maybe some of the others in the UK could learn something from them!! Christmas has passed but hope you all had good ones, and a Happy New Year to you all.
Oh BTW impressed that this was filmed months ago in the soaring heat 😂😂. Well done guys ❤
