I was watching this hoping for tips on how to use it to clear rocks.. unfortunately my rake doesn't seem to do that good of a job (maybe the problem is on the tractor seat, who knows) at filtering that dirt and pulling just the rocks... Any chance of doing a video of clearing rocks using a rock bucket? tempted to get that as my next attachment...
Agree. Tractors aren’t as “user friendly” as they used to be. We had a 4000. Simple operation. You could see everything from the seat. But that 3 cylinder was LOUD. I never liked that part. I watched a 5610 sell for $5400 a few months back. Kicking myself a little for not buying it, but I really want a red tractor

With all the hype on the product page, I expected to see far more 'Extreme raking with un-level ground, rocks, etc. All's I got from this was basic grooming... and ALOT of chatter. You didn't even show angle raking. Sorry, for the price, get a professional to do your video's that match the hype of the product. And keep it under 15mins.

how well would this work for pulling leaves? We blow our leaves in a row then rake them up for pickup Im wondering if this attachment would pull most of the leaves to the end of our road.

These also work well for arena maintenance and conditioning, if you use a pea gravel/sand mixture for your surface. Works especially well when you don't want to lift material like a rotary harrow would.
I have a Kubota MX5100 and it is way light. I have added fluid to the rear tires and 600 pounds of suitcase weights to the front. It still spins when in the garden. I do use it in the orchard for mowing and spraying and there it works very well. Factory weight for this tractor is only 3400 pounds and is rated at 50 horsepower. We also have a river that goes to flood stage every year from the snowpack melting and are in constant rip-rap repair. We do fear that it will crest over and dump a bunch of sand and debris like in your case.

I just bought a landscape rake and attached the depth guide wheels to the back. Use it to pick up just sticks among the plantation trees by removing two out of every three teeth. With all the teeth, the rake drags too much grass and sod when that isn't the goal Works like a charm to remove woody debris left over after removing trees and taking away the tops using THE THUMB grapple on the forks. Well worth the money. Leaves it near ready to use the lawn mower.

Certain material can hang up more than others, and there's really no scientific way of preventing it. The tine design on our pine straw rakes makes it less likely for material to gather in them, and they're also taller. Many reviews mention using them for similar applications. our yard is a mess. we had it timbered to clear for a house. we are left with hard, packed clay and ROCKS! we cant bush hog for all the rocks flying and we want to lay sod but there are too may rocks!! hand raking will take a lifetime. we have rocks of all sizes!! what equipment would be best for rock removal? we have a box blade but it doesn't do a great job with the number of rocks we have....thanks for your help!!
If the rocks are embedded in hard clay, you’d probably want to break the ground with something first, such as the Fred Cain Ripper. You only show Sand, will this type rake do the same with mixed and heavier ground? I'm working behind clear cut pine woodland. Broken pine tops, limbs small and large, some half covered with dirt and tons of pine straw in every sq foot. I'm trying to drag it to central piles so I can burn it and the spread the ashes, smooth it up and plant food plots. Thanks.
Yes, it should work great for your application. Obviously, it is best to remove larger limbs with a grapple, but the rake will help with general debris. Ted i work for a dealership that deals with a very popular tractor and equipment. I totally agree with you on the matter that we wish tractors would have stayed simple. I have friends that purchased implements from you and i love how well they are built. One guy has a extreme 6ft disk and I love that machine, infinite gang adjustments, really good looking bearings. 6 -7 years old, and not replaced any of the bearings yet. Good job guys and gals.

glad you explained HP and weight of tractors. you can get a 20 HP riding mower but it does not have enough mass to pull what a 20 HP full size tractor 2 wheel drive can.

correct me if im wrong but backing up to that creek bank after a rain like that, wouldn't it be dangerous as far as creating a rear tip over accident, seeing as how the soil is now soft on the edges? im not correcting anyone just asking. trying to learn as much as I can.
Would this be good for an indoor horse arena and exterior as well. Indoor is sand, I just need something to agitate the top layer and spread out the sand evenly. Or would a box blade with shanks do a better job?

Have you gotten any feedback on the rake use with cactus? I live out in Central Texas, purchased 10 acres of land and am dealing with 40 years worth of cactus growth among 3 acres of the land. I want to save the fertile land below the cactus, in which winter fescue naturally grows during the months of November and March. I'm hoping the rake is the ultimate answer to my issue.

This would be perfect after tilling a garden that had grown over with grass. You could do a tilling pass, then lift out the grass and leave the soil, then come back and finish tilling the soil.
I have a 2600 and bought a 6' rake. It's awesome and if you watch soil conditions you can do anything with them. They're great for weeding small tender weeds in the pecan orchard faster than a tiller and no moving parts! I people have any doubt, buy one and you'll love it!
When i install a new lawn, could i bring in a couple trucks of dirt and use this to grade? i use a skid steer with a power rake and 4-1 bucket to grade now. it seems like on the larger jobs i could rent a tractor w/ a front end loader and a landscape rake to get the same results. I rent everything so i might be trying this out on the next job. I can save a ton on rental fees if it works out

Looks good, I have a York rack, works well , but your only cleaning the junk out and actually only spreading the sand thrust the field. . Was the intent to remove sand from pasture ?
I'm looking for a one tool fix for my gravel driveway (hopefully) to repair periodically, grade, and spread gravel. I think this would do the job? Due to limited funds I'm trying to get one attachment that can do multiple applications. Would you say this could do a reasonable job? Thanks again for sharing.

Dave Pruitt I use a 6' York rake that has the rake, a back blade & a scarifier and gauge wheels. It's got 5 positions. I use it for grading my steep 800' driveway, I plow snow with my truck but then go over it with the rake which works great keeping ice from building up. I maintain forest trails with the rake, too.

Hi just a quick question will these rakes pull out weeds on sandy soil, i have a few acres and fully weeded out at the minute will bush whack but will need to clear so will it pull roots out completely?

It can happen, but would be less likely to happen when the toplink is adjusted out, which increases tine aggressiveness.

Can you drag it across bumpy sod for a smoothing effect?
Everybody always uses level land with sandy soil to demonstrate equipment. It won't function the same on your clay based clumpy, rocky soil.

The best thing I ever did to my pasture rake was to take every other tooth off of it. Now it works like a rake instead of a straight blade.

When I use the rake should I just push the 3 point lever all the way forward or should I just lower it until it’s barely touching the ground?

Have you gotten any feedback on the rake use with cactus? I live out in Central Texas, purchased 10 acres of land and am dealing with 40 years worth of cactus growth among 3 acres of the land. I want to save the fertile land below the cactus, in which winter fescue naturally grows during the months of November and March. I'm hoping the rake is the ultimate answer to my issue.

Yes if you wanted to get 100% of the sand out, a box blade or scrape blade would do that as well. Ted covers this at the 11:30 mark in this video.

This would be perfect after tilling a garden that had grown over with grass. You could do a tilling pass, then lift out the grass and leave the soil, then come back and finish tilling the soil.

I have a 2600 and bought a 6' rake. It's awesome and if you watch soil conditions you can do anything with them. They're great for weeding small tender weeds in the pecan orchard faster than a tiller and no moving parts! I people have any doubt, buy one and you'll love it!
When i install a new lawn, could i bring in a couple trucks of dirt and use this to grade? i use a skid steer with a power rake and 4-1 bucket to grade now. it seems like on the larger jobs i could rent a tractor w/ a front end loader and a landscape rake to get the same results. I rent everything so i might be trying this out on the next job. I can save a ton on rental fees if it works out
HI I have a bout 3 acres of underscrub that was mowed for years. I want an attachement that will strip that rubbish off so I can burn in in a pile and re plant some nice Deer feed crops here in Lake City FLorida. What attachement to you sell/recommend?

If you are referring to using rear remotes with a hydraulic top link then no, you would want to set it to the desired position and leave it there.

Looks good, I have a York rack, works well , but your only cleaning the junk out and actually only spreading the sand thrust the field. .
Was the intent to remove sand from pasture ?
We were trying to remove as much sand as possible. There were hours of work that didn't get filmed trying to recover this field.
how would this do picking up bigger rocks like football size and up?
I'm looking for a one tool fix for my gravel driveway (hopefully) to repair periodically, grade, and spread gravel. I think this would do the job? Due to limited funds I'm trying to get one attachment that can do multiple applications. Would you say this could do a reasonable job? Thanks again for sharing.
Of course it is best to have multiple tools for jobs like this, however one of our box blades would be the closest fit to what you are looking for. A box blade is one of the most versatile tools you can put on the back of a tractor. Thanks for watching!
Dave Pruitt I use a 6' York rake that has the rake, a back blade & a scarifier and gauge wheels. It's got 5 positions. I use it for grading my steep 800' driveway, I plow snow with my truck but then go over it with the rake which works great keeping ice from building up. I maintain forest trails with the rake, too.

If you have alot of ridges from water run off, would a land rake be the best attachment to use to level the land out?

Hi just a quick question will these rakes pull out weeds on sandy soil, i have a few acres and fully weeded out at the minute will bush whack but will need to clear so will it pull roots out completely?
