UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust th-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.
you are awesome! I bought an expensive power washer to avoid issues. property maintained it for two years and then no pressure. I was furious... waited almost an hour on hold with support only to be told that it's my wand which I knew it wasn't. your 2 minute fix saved me further turmoil aggravation . thank you so much!!! really appreciated! you are an asset to society!
This video just saved me in a bind. I have a 15 year old husky 2200psi, and it wasn't getting any pressure. Checked all the obvious stuff, and couldn't get it running. Found this video, removed the spring, cleaned it up, greased it up, and put it back together. Thing runs like a million bucks now. Thanks!
I was getting ready to pressure wash at my Church and my PW had no pressure! Luckily I found your video and in a few minutes I was able to get back to work! Thanks for the advice!
This quick fix saved my ass today. I was right in the middle of a job, and only took about 10-15 minutes from google, to this video, to fix, to back to work. Many thanks!
Chris, thank you for a very helpful video, your instructions were clear and accurate. It only took me 10 minutes to make the repair and now my power washer works like new.
Very cool guys, honest and to the point, obviously promoting warranty centers in general, which all centers that are trained and paid to be warranty centers for products should be happy. Tx.
Thanks for the video.. I have a power washer thats less than a year old and had no pressure. I had the stuck unloader valve issue. Saved me a alot of headaches with the help from this video. You are awesome
YOU.ARE.THE.MAN! Thank you so much for posting this video...I just fixed my neighbor's pressure washer in 5 minutes and now he thinks I have special powers
Thank you Chris! Fixed my problem at no cost. For the record, I have a different Craftsman unit and the U clip is under the valve rather than on the side. Same principle though.
This Article/Video was spot on. Super helpful. Armed with this information I went from having to buy a pump ($200) to a $9.00 part from Simpson. I'm in Florida, wish I was in New York so I could give you guys some business. Rod
+Roderick Adams I am glad this worked for you, right now we are headed towards fall in New York, people are starting to bring in snowblowers, we have a few more videos but they have not been posted yet.
Chris you are the man!! ya just saved someone ad H.D. an ass kicking!! unstuck and greased the unloader, works fine. Thank you for posting a REAL video.
Thank you for the video! It fixed the issue I had with my brand new out of the box Ryobi 2800. Taking the part out was much more difficult than your video showed. Needless to say, it was bone dry and all is good again. Once again, thanks.
THANKS SO MUCH!!! I'M BACK UP AND RUNNING!!! Straight to the point!!! No stupid 15 min. safety instructions!!! Just GREAT advice on how to fix the problem. AAA+++
Albany NY here and this is what I was looking how to take that spring thing out....mine I just bought $20 cash and has been sitting 3 yrs in a shed ...changed the fluids and fired right up but NO PRESSURE..now I got a good clue why... NICE thanks for the video......
+AwakeDude911 Just remember to get the water out so it doesn't freeze during the winter, the water or ice will crack the pump, Briggs sells a spray you can hook on to where the garden hose goes and spray it in the pump to protect it.
These particular units can be finicky. I have the Honda engine with the brass pump housing, used it a total of three times. Last year it would chug and eventually refuse to run with the choke off. This season I decided to fix it and today wound up replacing the entire carb, they are so cheap it's worth it. It now runs great but then I had no pressure! I checked the hose, made sure I had decent water feed, then took off the wand hose and sure enough, no water or very little water. I looked up the entire pump price and they are over $90! By that time, I was ready to drag it into the backyard and put some holes in it. Then I found this video. In literally 10 minutes I had the "unloader" out, freed up the pin, soaked it in parts cleaner, greased the fittings and installed. I have good pressure and will order and "unloader" as a backup in case I need it. So after all this I realized two things: 1) I need to be more patient and look at a problem from more than one angle 2) I need to keep visiting youtube for incredibly helpful videos such as yours..............I owe you one guys...thanks!!
Before you try replacing the pump - try this fix - it worked for me and was amazingly easy and quick! I even called them to get their address to send them a check as I wanted to support this shop and hope they continue to post very helpful fixes like this one. This easily saved me $100 - $200 in repair bill and/or my husband and I almost just went out and bought a new one.
Thanks a lot. I cleaned and worked on a bunch of different stuff but didn't want to mess with that part because I thought it looked too important for me to fiddle with but I did what you said and sure enough I have pressure now. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for posting! This was exactly the problem with my unit and I only needed to take my unloader out and push the tip in and out a few times. You saved the day.
Thank you so much! This little trick worked on my Simpson. It's out of warranty so this saved me probably $50-100. My unscrewed instead of using the clip - but this got me in the right place. Thanks again.
Guys, what do you do to it once you get it out? You have showed a couple that are already fixed. Show one that is broken, so we can see what you're doing to them to fix them.
We have had some questions on adjusting the nut under the black plastic cover to get more pressure, If you tighten the lock nut under the black plastic cap not enough you will loose pressure, if you tighten it too much it will not go into bypass and may stall the engine. The unloader is basically a valve that opens when the water has no place to go, when you squeeze the trigger on the gun the valve closes and water follows under pressure. Remember its important not to let the engine run for more than 2 minutes without squeezing the trigger to let water flow because the water in the pump will boil and melt the plactic check valves.
thewarrantycenter Is this water boiling common with most pumps, or just this one? I bet most people are unaware of this possibility. Remember, guys don't read operators manuals, lol.
I had the same problem with the clip and the unloader. Used WD40. Note that you should put WD40 around the entire unloader base because the clip's passageway opens up over the unloader base.
Hi I have one of these with a pressure issue. I have some water leaks on the quick couplings on the pressure side. On closer inspection the O rings on 2 of the connectors are missing. I lent it to a mate about 4 months ago and looks like he blew the O rings out and didn't replace them. I did pull the unloading valve out and checked it and that's fine. I also had to clean the garbage out of the hose connector screen as I'm thinking he hooked his hose up with out flushing the crap out of his hose first. Lesson learned. Don't lend stuff to mates!!
Thank you very much for the wisdom. Also if I hook up the water hose to the intake and turn the water on, no water comes out the pressure hose or outlet at all. Any suggestions please?
Chris great video thanks so much. I have a Ryobi 2300 psi/Honda GCV160 engine pressure washer...only one season on it; wouldn't start so cleaned carb no starts / runs perfect until I load the engine...then it wants to die
Could you please explain the process for setting the unloader spring setting, what to do, what to look/listen for etc, to know that the unloader is correctly tightened?
You probably dont care but if you're bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend recently xD
Perfect case scenario. My unloader is stuck. I been pulling on it. Prying on it. Spraying penetrating oil on it. Wont budge. Same issue with removing the hoses. Brass/aluminum don't mix. Ive tried pipe wrenches on the hoses. Nothing comes off a pressure washer easy. Reaction between brass and aluminum and possibly detergent. Hopefully taking pump off will do something for me. More leverage. I don't know. Sometimes I wish these vids would show worst case scenario. Nothing ever comes off easy. I wanna see someone else fighting it to.
My unloader valve looks fine. I can see pressure building in the hose, I can squeeze the trigger and get a burst of pressure but it wont recover and keep presssure. As soon as i let go of trigger it will regain pressure in the hose, once pressure has been reached you can see the pump turn off as if its in standby. Pull the trigger, burst of pressure then pukes out. Not sure what to look for from here. Thanks
Have you got enough feed water? If there isn't enough water supply it will starve the pump and won't give you pressure. It may also burn the pump out if it runs like that for any length of time. Cheers Russ
Hi Chris thank you for the video.... i have an ex-cell EXWGV 2121 and was wondering if y0u have a video on how to check unloader on that model...thanks in advance ken in oakley
Have you ever done one from a Steele 2500 PW with the Super Champion, Model is W5.0-A-02-YG. pump on it? Has the 3 brass nuts on it for the discharge valves and 3 more inside the housing.
I went from "Awww @#$!" to working unit in *5mins*. My Simpson unloader unscrewed: the plunger had red rust, and once I twisted and loosened it with grease, reinstall and all set. Thank YOU!
I have Troy-Bilt 2800 2.3 gallons, I used the pressure washer a couple of weeks ago with no problems went to use it this last weekend and no pressure? When hooked up the and the engine not running water flows through the hose and wand just fine start the engine and no pressure, can you give me some ideas of what the problem is?
My name is Vincent, i grew up in the Baldwin/Freeport Area, and moved to Monroe North Carolina (12 miles s,e of charlotte),but still currently a local 290 Carpenter for Long Island. I have a house in North Carolina, and in my off time I am a painter with a good name in the Charlotte area. I started a construction company back in 2013 with an ex-girlfriend that went sour, LOL after I moved out I took two big pieces of equipment which happens to be a generator and a power washer (homelite 2700 psi). I've only used my power washer for maybe 4 to 5 times since 2013, I have to use it tomorrow October 24,2016. The machine has been sitting since January 2014 without being used up until today when I noticed that there was no pressure coming from the hose, i've been working all day trying to figure out what was wrong with this machine until I came across this video, and pulled the part and started to push on that little valve stem and it wasn't moving. I turned it upside down and put it on the countertop and pushed on it and I heard a click, the valve stem started to move, I put it back into the machine, and now the machine works great! You guys are awesome! As of right now I only need this machine for tomorrow and I did order a new part off of eBay, the part should get me by for this job but is soon as the part comes in on Thursday I am going to change it. What a simple fix! I think I'm going to call you guys in the next few days or possibly tomorrow to personally thank you guys for uploading this video! There is definitely no way that I will ever would've been able to do it without you! This machine along with some other equipment is a vital part of my business here in North Carolina, again I couldn't thank you guys enough! You guys deserve a raise!
Thank you. Mine lost power two days ago. If it sits at idle the pressure to return for one squirt. Frustrating. I will check this first. It almost seems like a blockage. Thanks again.
Hi . Last year i purchase a new pump and it work fine so i didn't used anymore, so coming this spring time i needed to used it again and for my surprise the engine start to stall when leaving the trigger, i proceed on checking the unloader valve which was working fine now i don't know where to go from here. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the insightful video. I bought a new MS3125-S on Amazon and had it shipped ti Nigeria, Africa. I followed the steps diligently while unboxing and setting up but turned up with zero pressure! I checked the unloader valve just like you showed in this video, still the same zero pressure. Please help, what do I do? All my savings went into this.
Thank you for all your patronage and approvals on this video, this video was actually made for one person that had a problem that we couldn't explain on the phone. We are a service center that Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot, and online sales use, at times we pick up and reburbish equipment for their customers or resale. One of the biggest problems we seen was people changing, filling or checking the oil in their machine so we made a video on our website many years ago that the store manger could refer them to. mowerdoctor.com/new_page_1.htm .The video's are old but at the time they also helped a lot of people
Hi! I’m having a problem with the pressure washer engine dies when I unsqueeze the trigger for the wand on a Simpson pressure washer with Honda engine What do you think the problem is?
i have a wvgh322 and it has no pressure. the unloader is different than this one. it has a small spring. the spring is fully compressed. could that be the problem??
Great video, very helpful! But how did you get the unloader piston to loosen up? I have a 10 year old PressureWave/Devilbiss PWH2500, and I can not move the piston up and down on the unloader after I have removed it. I have tapped it on a hard surface and soaked 2 days in vinegar, still won't move. I assume I'll have to order a new part (old PN A01726, new PN A03928 I think), but looks like you get them loosened up some how?
Bill K it looks like the pump you have is an older one that doesn't have this problem style unloader. The pump you have is an oiless pump made by DeVilbiss. When this type pump unloader goes bad the pressure will still be good but when you release the trigger it will not go into bypass. You may have a bad check valve if you do not have any pressure. hope this helps. Working on these pumps is very time consuming so we don't repair them anymore. Its cheaper for us to replace the pump with a different style for the customer.
I have a troy bilt cold water pressure washer 2 yrs old I think my problem is the the unloader there is no number on it but I see other unloaders .the rod that goes in doesnt move are there some that do its new I got it for nothing
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately for me, it did not do the trick. My PowerStroke washer is about 5 years old. I did as instructed, and there's still no pressure beyond that of the hose pressure. Does that mean I need a new pump?
I have exactly the same pump you showed. I have major problem, the oil leak from the bottom and there is a big washer that got loose, also a gasket fell into pieces,. I will really appreciate if you can help. thanks

Good business to help your customers by making repair vids. Good for you.
Guys, what do you do to it once you get it out? You have showed a couple that are already fixed. Show one that is broken, so we can see what you're doing to them to fix them.
I believe they are installing a new unloader valve. From what ive seen in otjer videos. The spring loaded part on the end is stuck down when its bad.
I had the same problem with the clip and the unloader. Used WD40. Note that you should put WD40 around the entire unloader base because the clip's passageway opens up over the unloader base.
I can only say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This is exactly what was wrong with my pressure washer, now just like new.

Thank you sir. You saved me much time and aggravation. Different style pressure washer, exact same problem. Thank you again.

All I did was replace the spark plug. Works like a charm 🙏🏻
Hi
I have one of these with a pressure issue.
Thank you very much, this was exactly the problem. I was about to trash my washer
Chris great video thanks so much. I have a Ryobi 2300 psi/Honda GCV160 engine pressure washer...only one season on it; wouldn't start so cleaned carb no starts / runs perfect until I load the engine...then it wants to die
Wow thank you! This worked on my BlackMax washer that had not been used in a year or more.

How to put the u pin back. Mines is difficult

Great video guys! Thanks from Dalton Ga. You saved me a trip to the shop!
thank you very much, helped out a lot!! got the pressure back
My unloader valve looks fine. I can see pressure building in the hose, I can squeeze the trigger and get a burst of pressure but it wont recover and keep presssure. As soon as i let go of trigger it will regain pressure in the hose, once pressure has been reached you can see the pump turn off as if its in standby. Have you got enough feed water?
If there isn't enough water supply it will starve the pump and won't give you pressure. It may also burn the pump out if it runs like that for any length of time.
Cheers
Russ
Thanks Man, this really helped me
Thanks Chris. This helped fix my Homelite 2700 Honda.
Thank you. Worked perfectly for my troybilt
As mentioned below, it would be nice to see a repair of a faulty unloader.
I like to know if we can adjust the unloader valve
Watched video. Fixed pressure washer. Thank you.

Have you ever done one from a Steele 2500 PW with the Super Champion, Model is W5.0-A-02-YG. pump on it? Has the 3 brass nuts on it for the discharge valves and 3 more inside the housing.
A million thanks for your great tips

What a simple fix! I think I'm going to call you guys in the next few days or possibly tomorrow to personally thank you guys for uploading this video! There is definitely no way that I will ever would've been able to do it without you! This machine along with some other equipment is a vital part of my business here in North Carolina, again I couldn't thank you guys enough! You guys deserve a raise!
Thank you, if your ever back on Long Island stop in and say hello.
Thank you for this video, i fix in 5 min
Thank you.
Would a very long garden hose affect the water pressure?
Hi, thanks for the insightful video.
I bought a new MS3125-S on Amazon and had it shipped ti Nigeria, Africa.
I followed the steps diligently while unboxing and setting up but turned up with zero pressure!
I checked the unloader valve just like you showed in this video, still the same zero pressure. Please help, what do I do?
All my savings went into this.
Thanks. My old pressure washer works like new now.
Thanks for your help, it worked like a charm!
Thank you for all your patronage and approvals on this video, this video was actually made for one person that had a problem that we couldn't explain on the phone. We are a service center that Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot, and online sales use, at times we pick up and reburbish equipment for their customers or resale. One of the biggest problems we seen was people changing, filling or checking the oil in their machine so we made a video on our website many years ago that the store manger could refer them to. mowerdoctor.com/new_page_1.htm .The video's are old but at the time they also helped a lot of people
Thanks for the video! works perfect now.
Your welcome
Great job guy's thanks for that.
What do you do if you have the opposite problem? My pump won’t unload; it’ll keep building pressure until it bogs down and stalls out.
Hi! I’m having a problem with the pressure washer engine dies when I unsqueeze the trigger for the wand on a Simpson pressure washer with Honda engine
What do you think the problem is?
Mine is shooting oil out it works great but is it repairable
I’ve been trying for an hour and can’t get the pump to even budge 1/100th of a MM to get it out. Will not budge at all
Thanks. you save me some money I check that and I fixed that was the problem
I took out the retaining clip but the unloader won't come out. Any suggestions?
what gives more pressure turning clockwise or counter clockwise?
I follow your steps but the unloader valve does not come out, any recomendation?
I took the spring off and put a 19mm socket where the spring sits. Tighten the big nut back down and it will pull it out.
i have a wvgh322 and it has no pressure. the unloader is different than this one. it has a small spring. the spring is fully compressed. could that be the problem??
You may need new check valves, that's the next thing you should check.
I have and older craftsman electric pressure washer with a steam cleaner and I cant get pressure any tips?
Once it is removed where can you get a new one???
where do you find the part number for the pump
pressure washer works again like new thank you...
I have exactly the same pump you showed. I have major problem, the oil leak from the bottom and there is a big washer that got loose, also a gasket fell into pieces,. I will really appreciate if you can help. thanks
did the three allen head screws come out?
Mine is leaking at the brass nipple next to the unloader valve. Ball moves freely and spring loader valve moves freely. Any ideas?
Hi, nice video, were can i get that part? Home depot has it? Or maybe lowe's?. Please let me know. Tks
