The Ayala family's wealth initially came from the Roxas clan. They really do have two surnames. It's just that Don Jaime's grandfather, Enrique's mother is Trinidad de Ayala, in Hispanic name styles, the "de, del, and de la" maternal surnames do not need the "y" or "and", instead, it is adopted to the family name of the father. In modern times, it would be two surnames hyphenated or joined together Ex: Jaime Ayala-Zobel An existing example of two surnames combined is Juan Ponce Enrile, who is actually; Juanito F. Ponce-Enrile
Zobel de Ayala is not a pure Filipino family yet their Patriotism is strong as they thrive to strengthen our economy by building modern day Cities and Communities in modern lifestyle expanding their businesses to cater hundreds of employees all over the country. They are our great treasure that the Philippines could have from our former colonials. As they get more rich they keep improving the Philippines to be more modernize so as not to be behind to all our neighbors in Asia.
Pure Filipino? It isn't a race. It's a nationality! Infact the Peninsulares & Insulares (of Spanish & European ancestry were the Original Filipinos). Thanks to Gov Gen. Narciso Claverria for granting Filipino name, citizenship to the LOCAL Austronesians: Ilocano, Ivatan, Waray, Bicolano, Ilonggo etc. Read Philippine History please .

They are pure Filipinos but not pure Austronesian. They are probably more Filipino than much of the people in Mindanao and Cordilleras in terms of nationality because much of the Philippines is not integranted back in the day.
One of JAZA's daughters is also a VP at BPI! :) They are very interesting to research because they are a very progressive-thinking family. In an interview, Mariana said that they've always believed it's statistically impossible for strictly family members to handle such a diverse set of businesses that's why they are okay with employing people outside of their family. They value input from people who are not only from their family. Above all, I think they are also very down to earth.

We are poor not cause of corruption, but lack of innovation and entrepreneurship (talent for making businesses). Filipinos always go abroad, and even if they come back with a lot of money then they waste all that money or just save it to a bank, while it is the banks that invest their money to stocks. Filipinos have work mentality, not entrepreneur and business mindset.
@@javier.alvarez764 this is true in some sense, but not everyone can be an entrepreneur, what we need is better opportunities and everything will come.
@@javier.alvarez764 i'd have to disagree, the government's corruption does contribute to a lot of systemic problems that causes our country to be poor. also, please don't forget that not everyone can and will become an entrepreneur. it's a very demanding and exhausting job, let's not forget also how expensive it costs to be an entrepreneur also, and many filipinos can't afford to shell out capital because they have a lot of responsibilities to take care of. if the government helps in making a system that rewards entrepreneurship and commerce, as well as make it very easy for people to start their own business, for sure dadami ang mga business people na filipinos, unfortunately with the increasing cost of goods, and how long it takes to even just register for a business, that simply isn't the case (yet).

Yes. In Spain and Latin America, the matronymic and patronymic surnames are switched.
Ayala is also a Spanish surname.
They really do have two surnames. It's just that Don Jaime's grandfather, Enrique's mother is Trinidad de Ayala, in Hispanic name styles, the "de, del, and de la" maternal surnames do not need the "y" or "and", instead, it is adopted to the family name of the father. In modern times, it would be two surnames hyphenated or joined together
Ex:
Jaime Ayala-Zobel
An existing example of two surnames combined is Juan Ponce Enrile, who is actually; Juanito F.
@@d.l.c7456 The Ayala's are pure Spanish in blood although raise in the Philippines but their blood is pure are you blind that you can't see their profile feature which is of European or of Aryan origin please don't get wrong on it. Just as Filipino's even how how many years living in Western countries such race doesn't change still have the profile of being short, dark skin, black hair and have flat noses and still be guess or believe to be Asian or perhaps called Filipinos to be specific.
They are pure Filipinos but not pure Austronesian. They are probably more Filipino than much of the people in Mindanao and Cordilleras in terms of nationality because much of the Philippines is not integranted back in the day.
@Japorikiskiswa C I'm a Mindanaon, I'm a patriot, and I'm quite offended. Please elaborate.
what is a " pure" Filipino family ?
One of JAZA's daughters is also a VP at BPI! :) They are very interesting to research because they are a very progressive-thinking family. In an interview, Mariana said that they've always believed it's statistically impossible for strictly family members to handle such a diverse set of businesses that's why they are okay with employing people outside of their family. They value input from people who are not only from their family. Above all, I think they are also very down to earth.
The current CEO of Ayala Corp is Mr. Consing, right? 😊
You can see just how unique is our country from our former colonizer amd the many centuries past. They still here and loving us embracing our becoming a filipino. Happy independence today mga kabayan. Be proud of what you are and what do you achieve wherever you go

The Ynchaustis were the OGs. But people have largely forgotten them. One of them Joseph Ynchausti McMicking was the visionary and driving force behind the Ayala Corp , he married a Zobel and they actually had majority control of the modern Ayala Corp back then .
So where are they now? Why are they unheard of in PH business.
Correct
@@darylp9306, most left the Philippines during the Spanish civil war and settled in Spain and France. Sold their businesses and donated large tracts of land. I just wish that the Philippines would become a competitive economy in terms of attracting investors both foreign and local, this would help in creating jobs and raising the standard of living.
Yung iba puro palusot yung corruption bakit mahirap ang pinas hindi lang naman pinas ang may corruption bakit yung ibang bansa mas mayaman.
Ayala Alabang
Their Family Secret: Unity & Patriotism. Same belief and practice of South Korea if someone of you already watched the documentary how that country thrieve from being on the down lown upto the one of the richest country today. Pinag-aral nila ang mga tao abroad then went back to help build their country.
Gaya nga ng sabi sa video, "Business can't thrieve in a failing economy". Ang isang bansa ay para ding negosyo, kung di kayo magtutulungan at magkakaron ng iisang goal, babagsak at magsasara ito.
Sana, isa ito sa maisip ng mga Pilipino, tularan para umunlad at umangat ang bansa. ❤
The ordinary Filipino mindset!!!!!!!! Go abroad to enrich self and family etc. The complete opposite to the ways of the Ayalas!!!!!!!!!
The Ayalas only gave us a glimpse of how beautiful Philippines could look like. I am glad I live in Makati, in this patch of land where I can enjoy the parks, the streets, the underpasses developed by Ayalas.
I love this family sa napakalking pagmamahal nla s mga strays dogs and cats kya i support all ayala malls! Kudos ayala family
Maganda talaga mamaintain ang work ethic at values sa succeeding generations. Hindi kagaya nung iba na mayaman yung tatay tapos tamad mag-aral/magtrabaho yung anak kaya kapag sa generation na ng mga apo mahirap na sila.
La Salle Trivia - Notable Lasallian billionaire Don Enrique Zobel donated 2 campus areas for De La Salle University to establish a new Lasallian campus for the Ayala Alabang residential community. The campus was also in honor of his late Lasallian son who unfortunately passed away in his early youth. Santiago Zobel was a good soccer player for his beloved De La Salle varsity team.

AYALAS ARE NATIONALISTIC AND PATRIOTIC. THEIR LOVE TO THE COUNTRY IS EVIDENT. GOD BLESS FAMILIA AYALA.
Ayala family is the best example of low profile living of the old rich but it does not mean they live simply. They also have luxurious lifestyles but they just do not flaunt it in public and on social medias. For example, they favorite sports is polo, which is only for the rich and they travel abroad frequently, their children study abroad, etc. Anyway, I wish that with their vast wealth and influences, they will help the poor and under privilaged Filipinos more to make their lives better. This requires just a very small fraction of their wealth to spend, if not negligible. If all the billioners in the Philippines can share their wealth to the marginalized Filipinos, our country will be a better place to live in. Amen.
They already help thru the Ayala Foundation and more importantly, thru job creation and paying taxes. What more should they do? Magpa ayuda? That's so old school and not sustainable.

This is a great content about the essence of Capital structure on its inclusivity, Capitalist realm uplift many lives out of poverty, it has empowered and provide enormous amount of opportunities to people particularly in this modern civilization. Over the last hundreds of years especially in the boom cylce and shifts of industrial revolutions accross the globe, it only shows and obtain an extraordinary fact that it has created an overarching framework that propelled expanded horizon in the free market which created opportunity to the people's lives since then. The Family Ayala is one the greatest example of Free market inclusive entrepreneur since 1834, they created tremendous opportunity in business and job creations to the society and now especially those Metro business districts that fueled the economic engine accross the country. The Free Market Capitalist structure will always be the pillar and fundamental of a wealthy country. It uplift GPD per capita, meaning it help people's lives period. Im a great believer with the held hands of all the conglomerates today, with benevolent and scrupulous capital inclusive responsibilty I have no doubt that there will be a bold, prepitous, and great future for tomorrows generations. Just a question from an outsider ...I have friends in Manila and the feedback is water is scarce and expensive . In other words what has this family done to make water available to all if they own the water company for a long time ?
Scarce maybe if you live in the mountains lol. Are you friends that poor? Its not that expensive as long as you dont waste water.
Hmmm are you saying water supply in the Philippines depends if you are poor or rich ?
Maybe the people themselves don't have the resources to connect to the main water pipe in their area so much so you can say "Water is scarce." Àlso, there is Maynilad servicing the community. It is not only Manila Waters responsible in the local water distribution.
The Zobel de Ayala family has integrity. I respect their business acumen and their love of the country and its people.
It behooves me to think why DU30 hated this "Old money family."
There are two main companies who supply water in the philippines manila water who owned by them and maynilad also a private company which of them are your friend's supplier? Cos i lived in caloocan our water bill only cost 300 pesos 6 usd a month water cost also depend on the location i dont understand why some places are quiet expensive currently im living in northern luzon bulacan in our village theres a private company who supply our water but it's too expensive
