Armyworms Attack!!! - Morris Farms

Armyworms are trying to eat our newly planted Bermuda grass. After establishing and fertilizing our hay fields we got some unwanted guests, armyworms have showed up and in full force. Have know fear because we definitely jumped on them at first site. Come with us to erradicate these pest. We also will be bringing in some hay from the field and stacking it in preperation for a long winter. WINTER IS COMING!!!

What are your winters like? Temperture, Hi..Lo. Snow? Rain? Wind? When do you start planting in spring?

Pretty mild for the most part but we usually get a real cold spell in January until February. Our warm is up is usually around May or June. Corn goes in here around the first of May if soil is warm enough.

that’s crazy that the worms can wipe a field that size away in 3 days .

What do you spray for the worms?

We sprayed Lambda Select (cyhalothrin), it is cheaper but does not have a residual so you have to monitor for larva to hatch and spray again
