Finishing the cleaning of this beautiful ancient Roman coin. It's not perfect, but rather keep some dirt than ruin it.
Definitely had some fun during the "operation" 😉
About the coin:
Obverse:D N CONSTANTIVS P F AVG. Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust facing three-quarters left, holding globe.
Reverse: FEL TEMP REPARATIO. Emperor in military attire, holding shield and labarum with Christogram, advancing left, two captives advancing left before him.
AD 348-351

The cleaning method is mechanical. No chemicals are used in any part of the process.
The liquid used for soaking is distilled water.
Cleaning and basic coin restoration are a hobby for me. This is not my job, I'm not a pro.
Everything I do in this video is my responsibility and at my own risk.
If you need to restore a valuable coin - go to someone who knows what is doing :)
Nothing in the video could be taken as a useful technique or advice.
Pop's here. What cleaning medium are you using?
Sorry, I can't understand the question. English is a foreign language for me... What do you mean by "medium"? If you are more specific, I'll try to answer.
TIA :)
Pop's here. What is the value of the coin once it's cleaned?
.
I've got no idea. The coin is not mine but from a friend's collection. There's no intention of selling, so he hasn't looked for a price.
From what I see in online auctions, probably not more than 70$
What is on these coins?
Mostly dirt. A centuries old dirt.
