    You inspired me a lot previously to go and plant some covers in some lease pastures i had that had poor soils/forage. its been a super wet winter here in NC so I ended up grazing some of them much earlier than expected to help with the mud issues but I have been able to move them off in hopes that they will come back and help regenerate the soils. At the same time you make me want to go out and buy an extractor and just spray every acre I own/lease with these motivational/information filled speeches. Hope 2023 is a great year for you guys and you keep pushing your message through to the world. God Bless!

    I love you, man. I'm so glad that you go out there and speak without knowing how to pronounce the terms perfectly, and without being hyper-polished and rehearsed. It tells me that you have a passion for the content; that it's about the message and that you aren't out there trying to be a celebrity.
    Stay simple, true, and a straight shooter. Like the Lord said, "let your word be, Yes, Yes, No, No, and that which is more than these is of the evil."
    Also, guard yourself against the corrupting temptations that will come with your success. "Seek first the kingdom of God," not clicks, views, or money.

    Great talk. Regarding cover crops using moisture, I think that when Jimmy Emmons tested it he actually found higher moisture levels in the soil with keeping cover crops on the land than having bare soil. It kept down the evaporation, but I he also found that it probably helped capture morning dew and other atmospheric moisture even when there was no actual rain. So just another reason to use covers!

    Jay nice one!
    I could not help but notice on your soil analysis report that not a single nutrient in your soil report is showing something lacking. Nothing is a zero.
    The nutrients never disappear. They are simply replaced by more nutrients from the bed rock below.
    I did notice that the Calcium to Magnesium ratio is 1.7:1. A 7:1 ratio would be ideal as there might be some compaction with the clays when it is lower and it might be a little more difficult for the biology to get between the clay colloids to leach the nutrients out for the plants without flocculating the clays.

      @@youngredangus6041 bummer. Very little irrigation eastern ks. Sounds like foliar spraying is not a possibility.
      I’m guessing Cory Miller and the other guy from Mt was spraying just extract then in their videos of foliar spraying.

      @@southernblues I want to add that water quality is also key. If we irrigate with tape water - John Kempf sayed that the carbonates which make the water hard are also hindering the nutrients even in compost teas to be absorbed by the bacteria's or by the plants. Because the carbonates and bicarbonates are extremely binding to those nutrients. Therefore John Kempf advised everyone to invest into water filtration systems and in the end he watched farmers cut down at least half of their spending's on fertilizers due to the good quality water (rain water will do the same but pond water has to be tested first). Maybe this is even more interesting for you. You have small amounts of water so you even more want to increase the quality of the water. I think water is the most important thing for our soil.

    • @erbauungstutztaufgnade1875
      @erbauungstutztaufgnade1875 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Therefore we also need quality water for irrigation of our composts so it will mature faster. BUT I know everyone of us can only do that - with that - what he/she has.

    Why do they tell farmers to destroy their crops if plants produce oxygen and take CO2 from the air?????

  • @hanzketchup859
    @hanzketchup859 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    He’s wrong about yields, everybody who farms in Illinois has to follow the department of agriculture guidelines when planting, harvesting and everything in between, they use anhydrous ammonia and they can’t use more or less, they have similar yields, similar weight and similar water content in the grains. Idk who he thinks he is, but he’s wrong, farmers have Always compared yields, compared notes, they harvest and plant in groups. He rants and babbles, he’s not wrong about erosion and erosion is always been a problem, the biggest problem is air in the soil, compaction and water retention. I always know when a huckster is pretending, he acts offended and complains like an old woman.

      @@youngredangus6041 thanks for the offer, but no thank you, I don’t think you’re a con man, if I did I wouldn’t have left a comment. What I’m seeing is a lot of people running with a partial view and for backyard gardens and potting plants, it’s an easy way for new people to get started. Some people stick to gardening because it’s very rewarding but they soon discover that their plants start dying and that compost gets tired/depleted real quick. Gardening a no till garden turns into a whole lot of work and gets very expensive, and farming that way is out of the question. That’s why I gave some criticism, I’ll watch some more of your videos and I’ll submit something if I think it might help. I’m just some guy that doesn’t have all the answers online trying to make a point, pretty much like 99% of online people. Btw, I love that you have a Family and you have children growing up helping you, that is what it is truly All about!

    I don’t like pointing out where the con man makes mistakes, because they learn something and adjust their b.s. but this guy is obviously overzealous and wishing. When you have persistent weeds, you have a soil problem, I’m not gonna give a lecture about soil health but he identifies the weed as persistent, not by name because he doesn’t know what weed he’s talking about. I could make an excuse for him, they’re not complimentary, he’s too young and rash, you’ve got a long way to go baby. I’m editing according to where I’m at in his rant, I mean ‘lecture’ if you keep pouring nitrogen into poorly aerated soil, soil that lacks oxygen using carbon nitrogen rich composts you get a carbon C and nitrogen N bond called CN on the periodic table, commonly called cyanide, when it rains after you’ve made these bonds, you get cyanic gases, and other nastiness. I like that he has family helping him, but they save themselves a whole lot of work by a little more soil research. Learn how to measure the condition of your soil, this will indicate what condition your soil is in, and then by knowing some very basic chemistry and biology you can examine your options. Just a hint for him because I can’t educate him, he has to do that himself. Learn what plants are made of, plants are made of 80-90% water, the remaining 10-20% is ‘dry’ substances, 3% is nitrogen, 60% carbon, 40% oxygen, the remaining 7% is magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and other minerals, the ‘exudates’ cannot begin until the biology in the soil (sand, silt and clay) becomes active, several conditions are needed to activate the biology, air in the soil is the main thing, you figure out the rest. Your homework. Agriculture for money is a difficult enterprise, but it’s doable, don’t give up. Check out soil works llc he can give you some good advice.
