A cool idea for the devs of the game: When a friend dies and becomes a "ghost" you should only be able to hear them from that radio you use to hear the spirits with.
It's not scary when you have friends screaming and laughing the whole time. Either need to play it solitary or properly Role Play it as the real characters so the death means something. Would be a cool game to play with some D&D people who can really get in to the feel of it.

Another example is when 2 of them were dead,one of the dead carried the statue of the Virgin Mary protecting the person who was left alive while he carried out the bodies. Both examples of gear being used. Just saying, watching the first foray into a new experience is a bit early for assumptions and final conclusions. I hear what you guys are saying, but I think it'll go differently as people figure the game out.
@@robosing225 the other one is Drea. And Icy can be extra, but Icy brings a lot of comedy and IGP and Icy work really well together and their humor mesh well. Icy when he's not with IGP is also an amazing content creator, extremely funny and not as loud lol
I think the scare factors comes in when the ghosts show up as random distorted matter than a human being, because the fear of the unknown hits deeper, more primal.
I think my favorite part of this video is how three guys screamed at each other for 24 minutes and accomplished absolutely nothing except getting stomped by ghosts repeatedly. Oh and IGP holding the bus door shut so people couldn't get in. That was pretty great, actually.
I could tell, it also gave me a good scare as well. This game is way more better and scarier than phasmophobia and I look foward to seeing more of this :)
Nah it’s 100% scarier. Phasmophobia isn’t scary at all because there’s nothing that will actually scare you, it’s kinda just eery I guess? This game has things that will actually scare you but it’s just way harder so it isn’t as fun (imo atleast)

It seems this game is going for a more jumpscare spooky horror game in contrast to the psychological horror of Phasmo.
Two completely different games, it seems to me. One for serious players, polished over time with so much effort and feedback put into it, and this for quick thrills... Let that be. I'll be interested to see if this goes south trying to be a cheap copy of phasmo in the community's eyes.

But at the same time it looked like there was no mission selector, no difficulty selector, and no hint/warning system about Hunt mode and can just die, without warning, at any time for any reason. Feels like the second part of phasmaphobia. In Phasma you figure out ghost type for the removal team, in this you murk ghosts with wild weapons, as the remover xD

The ‘stuck door thing’ igp did would make for a fun game mechanic. Like, when you’re starting out you have an older van that causes problems and after getting enough money you could ‘fix’ it or even have it where someone contracts you to exorcise something only to give you something useful in exchange
the problem with phasmo is that it's not scary enough, it's too predictable making it easy and not scary at all, this one on the other hand seems inpredictable and could be a bit more scary as it looks harder to escape the ghost
@@charlie_mk7.5 yep, phasmo is far too repetitive, the death scene doesn't feel scary, it just makes me go "aww man, i died" when a hunt starts you can often just keep going back to the same spot where you weren't found previously. the scariest thing in phasmo is probably the sudden loud breathing in your ear but that's about it
@Wynvale true, i remember when my friends and I were scared of trying professional but after a short while it felt like we were just trying to speedrun the hunt because the actual horror aspect wasnt enough. i saw that they are working on a big rework thing with more ghost events and stuff but idk if it will be enough to keep the game up and going
Everyone forgets one thing about Phasmo and this game. Phasmo is created by 1 single person, while this one is created by a group. This game has taken several things from Phasmo. You could say they ripped off Phasmo.
i dont think it has anything to worry about if this is what its competing with lol. just hope phasmo doesnt loose what it has in the overhaul. needs to be the same core game just with some improvements. basically better graphics, more ghosts, more ghost activity and things you can do to interact, more locations, make more stuff you can do in the van and maybe even lets ghosts mess with it, ghosts mess with you outside too and more detailed ghost equipment. i just dont want it to loose the feel its got now because its really good and dont want it to turn into some cheap trick game

I think what makes Phasmophobia still scarier than this is the spot on ambience and the fact that you can't defend yourself. It's obviously subjective but I personally prefer a true spooky ambience and the feel of having to deal with something that we mere mortals can't control rather than "jumpscares" and ghost-guns. Edit: But it's still really nice seeing more games like this pop-up. I can't remember that the gaming scene ever had a real "open ghost-hunt" theme going on as most of the horrors games are really linear and with a clear story line. To be free to explore and take jobs to hunt ghosts is something new and I appreciate that!
There's a whole debate to be had about that to be fair. If you don't have weapons then there's that factor or having to always run away. But if you do have weapons then there is the factor of actually having to properly wield them while also being scared and looking at the scary thing. I think it doesn't really matter tbh, ambience and interesting game mechanics are what makes something scarier in my opinion.
@@sabasgt There is really no debate here tbh. The best example is probably alien isolation at the begining the guns don t do anything to the alien but attract it. when you get the flame thrower you just become alot less scared.
@@maximedemers-boucher6999 Same can be said about not having guns but just becoming accustomed to the chases. Like in Outlast or Amnesia. I was way less scared at the end just because I got used to being chased and hiding. It's not the fact that you can or not defend yourself, but rather how well a game keeps itself fresh and unnerving.
I may bring up the first three Silent Hill games. Specifically 2 and 3. You had weapons. You'd still shit yourself at every other perspective switch. It's about implementation.

During a hunt you guys can get in the UV and close and hold the door. If you do that the ghost will smash and try to shake the UV to get you to let go of the door. That is one of the best feature I seen in this game.

Absolutely in tears. IGP notices the most random item, Jack in the Box, and Icy is losing his shit downstairs. Must keep Drae on the channel. Hes funnier than hell watching him get scared but his giggle cracks me up after the calm. You three keep it going!
I think this one has potential to be better in some aspects, but Phamophobia is just a lot more polished. This game, on the other hand, feels like half of its gameplay is just dying. I know Phasmophobia has been out for much longer, but even its first public build had a more solid gameplay loop than this game does so far.

I prefer phasmophobia but i like some features about this game.. 1. The flickering of the emf reader signal. 2. Creepy mutterings of the ghost box 3. Dragging the dead body feature(if they make it more realistic) 4. Distorted / glitchy figure of the entity 5. Occasional sightings of the ghost in the most creepy ways (imagine seeing an entity staring through the window for a split second)
@@MorkandGork Honestly, the instant killing part I think is this game's biggest problem. It just feels frustrating. And it's not even the good kind of frustration that makes you want to do better, but the kind that seems like it's just arbitrarily screwing you over. The fact that the ghosts go all-out right away and can wipe your whole team in one go is just too much. Things like the laser cannon thing seem way too silly, but everything else has some nice touches. Like the spirit box and EMF reader, which I think this game does way better than Phasmophobia. It has better presentation, but it honestly *should've* copied Phasmophobia's gradual escalation. TL;DR: It looks promising, but blows its load way too early.
I think it would be pretty cool for someone to figure out how to make ghosts “possess” on of the players like….have them do things without them touching the controls, like strange movements or something

@@potawatadingdong well depends. someone having a vision and not listening to feedback can be good. maybe his vision already included it and at the end of the day for what he managed to do on his own it was a great game. and as we have proved in the past its not always best to take everyone's feedback on board as it has killed some games trying to over implement and loose what it was. or get so complicated it cant be done by a small team on a budget. he is now working with 2 others to make it something better than it is now and end of the day its just rumours. also a lot of game directors are stubborn. look at hideo kojima. he is stubborn as hell and he is one of the biggest devs in history.

Phasmaphoba seems more scary than this tbh. Mostly because of the suspense. This is more action based gameplay wise

I was way less scared at the end just because I got used to being chased and hiding. It's not the fact that you can or not defend yourself, but rather how well a game keeps itself fresh and unnerving.
I may bring up the first three Silent Hill games. Specifically 2 and 3. You had weapons. You'd still shit yourself at every other perspective switch. It's about implementation.
@@sabasgt mauler actually did a great essay on this. it basically concluded that no adding guns to a game doesnt make it scarier. in fact it always seems to just ruin the tension.

The crow/screaming sound is a fox call. Super creepy.
I like that this game adds more scary things. The immersion is way better than in Phasmophobia
During a hunt you guys can get in the UV and close and hold the door. If you do that the ghost will smash and try to shake the UV to get you to let go of the door. That is one of the best feature I seen in this game.

Absolutely in tears. IGP notices the most random item, Jack in the Box, and Icy is losing his shit downstairs. Must keep Drae on the channel. Hes funnier than hell watching him get scared but his giggle cracks me up after the calm. You three keep it going!

I think this one has potential to be better in some aspects, but Phamophobia is just a lot more polished. This game, on the other hand, feels like half of its gameplay is just dying.
I know Phasmophobia has been out for much longer, but even its first public build had a more solid gameplay loop than this game does so far.

I prefer phasmophobia but i like some features about this game..
1. The flickering of the emf reader signal.
2. Creepy mutterings of the ghost box
3. Dragging the dead body feature(if they make it more realistic)
4. Distorted / glitchy figure of the entity
5. Occasional sightings of the ghost in the most creepy ways (imagine seeing an entity staring through the window for a split second)
@@MorkandGork Honestly, the instant killing part I think is this game's biggest problem. It just feels frustrating. And it's not even the good kind of frustration that makes you want to do better, but the kind that seems like it's just arbitrarily screwing you over. The fact that the ghosts go all-out right away and can wipe your whole team in one go is just too much.
Things like the laser cannon thing seem way too silly, but everything else has some nice touches. Like the spirit box and EMF reader, which I think this game does way better than Phasmophobia. It has better presentation, but it honestly *should've* copied Phasmophobia's gradual escalation.
TL;DR: It looks promising, but blows its load way too early.

@@vucko9201 From what I heard, he's extremely stubborn. So the fact that he's hired others is a surprise to me. However it still seems that most feedback gets ignored in favor of his "vision".
@@potawatadingdong well depends. someone having a vision and not listening to feedback can be good. maybe his vision already included it and at the end of the day for what he managed to do on his own it was a great game. and as we have proved in the past its not always best to take everyone's feedback on board as it has killed some games trying to over implement and loose what it was. or get so complicated it cant be done by a small team on a budget. he is now working with 2 others to make it something better than it is now and end of the day its just rumours. also a lot of game directors are stubborn. look at hideo kojima. he is stubborn as hell and he is one of the biggest devs in history.

To be fair, Phasmophobia doesn't have much staying power either. Once you experience all the ghosts and locations, it's too samey.
