If you look carefully at 23:43-23:47, you'll see that IGP must've tapped the use key twice while holding the doll, as the pin in the heart is also visibly pushed in when he zooms out from showing the one pushing into the arm. Poor Drae dies instantly to the voodoo heart-stabbed triggered hunt.

One of the devs, CJ, confirmed what happens when you trigger a hunt with the cursed objects like breaking the Ouija board. You enter what is known as a cursed hunt. This is a special extra long duration hunt where the ghost's aggression is turned to max, there is only a 1 second grace period before it can kill, the hunt cannot be prevented with items, and all hunts for the rest of the contract will also be extended. Use your cursed items wisely. Triggering a cursed hunt will make the rest of your experience that much deadlier.
I like how the roles basically swapped where the two professionals are acting like children and the semi-unpaid intern (Drae) is the one who's sick of their shit already

You can't get the ouija board and the voodoo doll in a game. Theres only one cursed item per game and it can be the doll, a mirror, a summoning circle, the board, or a music box.
Kinda cheap as hell if the Ghost can just touch you and immediately walk away, while you're still going through death animations. It's like "Tag, you're it!" and then it's running again. I feel like the ghost should be occupied for the duration of the death animation, before returning to the hunt.

As far as it being unfair: Man you move faster than most of the ghosts in this game anyway unless they're tailing you for long enough that they can accelerate to match your speed.

Other difficulties this does not happen, but the duration of the hunts in general is increased by difficulty and map size. As far as the fairness of it, that's Nightmare for you. It's designed specifically for people who have exhausted the challenge of Professional and are looking for something above that. The kind of people who have played so much they've got the game down to a science and aren't jumping at shadows or screaming in terror at the jiggle physics of a doll and pressing all the pins in in a panic. That means having an idea of where to run and hide before a hunt starts, having smudge sticks to escape with, etc. It means not being shoulder to shoulder with your friends when it hunts giving the ghost an easy multikill, or sitting behind knee high cushions to hide, or flicking your EMF and flashlight on like a giant beacon that says "I'm right here! Kill me!"

Carpets have hitboxes now, IGP. That's why you thought you ran into something on the rug. The voodoo doll can instantly summon the ghost. There is also a mirror that shows you the ghost room at the cost of making it angry. Haven't found the music box or tarot card yet.
