Brings back memories growing up we had a Sammy. They shed twice a year and the yard was filled with white floating tumbleweeds. During shedding had daily brushing and concentrate in a specific area each day to get the shedding coat out. She looks gorgeous.

New subscribers here. Our boy is a samoyed. I have heard many horrible stores from fellow owner about their grooming experiences. many sketchy groomers out there would said responsible owner didn’t brush and just shave a Samoyed’s coat. I’m so glad this girl has you as her groomer. We are fully equipped with professional grooming tool ( blower, brushes, combs, grooming table, etc) to regularly groom by ourselves, but occasionally would love to have him to be groom professionally, but it’s so hard to find a good one.

Thank you for the praise! This owner did brush and had the right tools for the job but having a Samoyed is a full time job. She is a wonderful owner!

Amazing job saving this dogs coat! The patience involved for both of you is amazing. I love you how took your time with each step. Letting the shampoo sit on the coat, fully rinsing, the blow dry, dematting etc. Amazing job!

Really good job on this babe. I have a Sammy, too, but I do brushing everyday not to have matted fur.

I loved watching her get floofier and floofier during her blow dry! That looked back breaking for you though. ❤

I have tried those mat buster combs, but they never work for me. I just use blunt nose scissor and slice mats apart and pull them apart with my fingers and then hit with a slicker. That is a lot of matting though. Good patient beast.

I had a Sammy. I loved pulling out his undercoat. Hope you saved all that wonderful hair for someone who spins yarn better than angora!

I’ve heard their fur is used for that! Unfortunately I don’t know anyone that could do that.

Cash was not showing any signs of being anxious or afraid and therefore felt she didn’t need it.

I thought the term was "compacted" rather than "impacted".

You can google the correct terminology. I’ve always used impacted in the grooming industry, maybe it depends on where you live?

The reason I inquired is because all the other TH-cam groomers I watch use the term "compacted". I did a search as you requested and this is the generally accepted term from what I found.

My baby is 9 months 3 weeks old. 33 Inches tall at the head 75 lbs. His dad 100 lbs. He hates grooming. I haven't been pushing grooming until now. First months I had him it was a nightmare for him massive projectile diarrehia. Now that is gone. He is in hot to trot mode now. I'm not trained on grooming but I try my best. Table and bar going across, also have blower. I will invest in the dematting comb I saw u use. He has some mats by his ears and his butt.

A reason never to get a Samoyed
