This week we build a barn wood head board with 2 industrial lights that are built in with switches! This was such a fun project and it very simple with minimal tools required. I really enjoyed working with Bianca on this! Hope you enjoy the video!

Good stuff - another idea is to use flooring instead of hardwood too. The electrical connection should be in a box so the wires don’t get pulled out accidentally -but that would cause the headboard not to be flush against the wall. Maybe longer cords and a box at the foot of the headboard.

It would be easier to lay all of your slats with a bit of overhang, then cut them all flush with the baking board. Then attach the black edge trim. Just a suggestion

Nice 👍🏾 But I would’ve put the switch on the side further down and covered the word with polyurethane. Looks like a lot of sheets and pillow cases may get messed up from rubbing up against the wood.

Thanks! I was originally going to put the switches lower, but I didn't want to accidentally hit my head on it, so I moved it higher. I didn't think poly was necessary as the wood is actually pretty smooth to the touch and doesn't create any splinters. I also like the look of raw barn wood

Unfortunately, I don't have any specific plans for this. But the key dimensions are: the plywood backer board is 6 feet by 3 feet, the trim is 1x2s, and you can use whatever wood you would like for inside. Hope that helps!
