RISP is a misnomer of a stat. The best teams in MLB usually have horrible RISP. It’s a very confusing stat and nobody can explain it.
All of the above, plus hitting coaches need to be looked at. Too much emphasis on launch angles. Runner on second or third with no outs without scoring is occurring often enough.
@@hilocatmanwhat absolutely stings is having a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs and the Dodgers come up empty. This has happened with the Dodgers with much frequency over the past decade or so 😐 😑 😳 😒

Definitely need a consistent bat…one that can put the ball in play, hits line drives, battles at the plate and hit to where he’s pitched. Too many hitters that try to pull outside pitches….all the time.

Crochet has an inning limit. they would have to stick him in the garage and pull him out to drive around the block once a month to keep the battery from dying. This is a "theres always next year" move, because they need consistant starting pitchers to get them through the season right now.

Philly's just showed what a WS type team looks like. Dodgers commit errors pretty much every game, the infield isn't well oiled, no stability. Guys in the outfield are still figuring out how to play competently. And starting pitching again this year is a concern. Wtf Friedman?

We definitely need a bat at the back end of the lineup. That is a must have because once we get to 6,7,8,9 we can’t count on anyone. If we do not get a bat we are out in the first round unless 1-5 can put up all the runs..

Prospects are currency. If your aim is a championship you often have to spend to get there.
Go for much less costly pitching options like Flaherty. Crochet will cost way too much and his viability for the remainder of the season is, very much, in doubt. Since maintaining a healthy pitching staff is a constant challenge year after year, maybe someone should be looking at the process of developing pitchers?🤔
At some point, the Dodgers will have to consider that their coaching staff have gone off somewhere.

That’s what I’ve been thinking. How do the Dodgers outbid the Orioles, Phillies, and other contenders. It’s not like these guys are going anywhere, except the highest bidder. The Dodger farm system isn’t what it used to be to be, so it’s going to be difficult to come up with a competitive package. If the Orioles want someone, they can get him.

Trade Vargas, Rushing, DePaola, and any other prospects to get these players. The team is in regression mode due to injuries and the automatic outs at back end of lineup

Crochet hasn’t been the best pitcher in MLB this year. Top 5? Yes. Crochet a game changer? No way. If LA trades for him, that tells me they don’t see this team winning it all in ‘24 and that they see our SP’ers much more weak than we view them going into ‘25. He’s already blown past his career high in IP and you know CHI isn’t going to rest him before the deadline so I can’t picture LA getting him and having him 4x his career high IP. If LA trades for him, it’s going to cost a top SP prospect (Ryan, Bruns, Wrobleski) along with 2 top position prospects. Parades over prospects. Sure, but you have to be smart about it. Every year, we get reminded that Friedman/Gomes are no longer the best at it.

I am not attempting to be pessimistic; however, the Dodgers will never win their championship if they continue to score three runs in a game against mediocre pitchers, regardless of who they bring in. Sorry, guys; it causes me more pain to express myself.

Dodger fans will hate me for this, but I actually think they should just consider this a transition year and just ‘walk away/shut it all down’. If they were to look forward to 2025, make every effort to sign Sasaki. Their core starting rotation would include 1) Sasaki 2) Glasnow 3) Yamamoto 4) Ohtani. Buehler, Paxton and Kershaw will be gone. May, Stone, Miller, Sheehan, Grove, Gonsolin and Knack could be trade pieces, or perhaps they keep one or two. Focus on acquiring a quality 3rd baseman, outfielder and SS. Extend Teoscar and keep Pages. Betts back to 2nd. Heyward, Rojas Kiki and Biggio will be gone. Outman, Lux, Taylor, Barnes, Muncy and Vargas could be trade pieces. Get rid of any dead weight in the bullpen and acquire a couple good arms in relief. Bring up more young players from AAA to finish this year (like Cartaya, River Ryan, and Sweeney, etc…) and see how they perform in 2024. They can be trade pieces or fill in some roster spots. This current team is not championship quality. It’s time for a ‘come to Jesus’ reckoning and face the truth. If they continue to just limp along and expect Kershaw will come to the rescue in Oct., they are greatly deceived.

IF, and that is a big if, Skubal is available, I don’t think the Dodgers can out bid the other contenders, such as Baltimore, who have the high end prospects the Tigers would need to trade a guy in the Cy Young race.
