Having largely forgotten undergrad ochem since I’m doing inorganic synthesis nowadays, these videos are great refreshers, and your explanations are well thought-out and easy to follow. Great stuff! Wish my undergrad ochem profs were as clear and concise about going through these kinds of retro analysis
Many thanks for the feedback 😀 Glad you've found them useful. It's a topic I quite like playing around with and also a topic which can be lectured on very badly. There's definitely more of these on the way to my channel.
One thing I missed in undergrad ochem is *how* in terms of mechanism some signature inorganic catalysis work in organic synthesis. The inorganic-organic TS complex was often overlooked or omitted in the discussion of the arrow-pushing mechanisms
The pinnacol disconnection of the spiro ketone to a symmetrical diol intermediate is a nice use of basic undergrad chem
Indeed 🙂 A slightly contrived molecule to make that exact point

Спасибо огромное за прекрасное объяснение!!!
Thanks 😊 glad you enjoyed the video!
Keep up the good work 🔥
Many thanks for the feedback 😀
So funny video! I like this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sir , please make video on retrosynthesis ....
More videos on retrosynthesis on the way I promise when my in-person teaching drops off in a few weeks’ time 🙂
very good :)
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Man-made horrors beyond comprehension, brought to you again by Mg.
Lol 🙂 Perhaps it should stick to being in its sulfate form.
please speak abit clearer and slower so I can follow and understand you.
Apologies, this one did end up a bit fast. I think I'd had too much coffee before recording it 😂 I'll bear this in mind for future videos.
