    I’ve had a 02 frontier 4x4 supercharged for about 4 years now. I definitely don’t baby it and it’s never let me down. Glad to see Nissan did good with the 3rd gen frontier!

    I love my 2023 S model. I use it for hauling lumber for my little shop and regular driving. I have no intention of driving 35000 dollars around in the mud. Lots of power, it has a bigger six-cylinder then the competition e.g Takoma at a better price and I think it looks better.

    Was that snow part all with 4h? Would loved to see how it would have done with 4L without the socks

    Skinny tires are better in snow/ice; take it from someone who ran pro rallies in MI such as Northern lights, POR, etc. Airing down for snow/ice is not the right thing to do. Lower the size of the tire....

      Depends. Light snow with a surface that you can dig down to then the skinny tires typically are better which is why most plow trucks run a narrow tire. Deep snow you want floatation so airing down or a wider tire may be better especially in situations where digging down to traction will cause your frame to drag. So all depends on the conditions. If you look up iceland trucks that overland they are all oversized wide tires. Of course as a rental none of that matters. Should have had a set of traction boards to go with. They work really well for the times you dig yourself a hole to get out of.

    I've got a 2012 frontier sv 4x4 but mine has a arb rear locker and a 2.5 in Bilstein 5100 lift kit with 33in all terrain tires but it rides like it's stock or even better I paid 19k for it and it only had 29k miles on it and zero rust. I've never owned a frontier but I can tell you it will not be my last. The lift kit I got from all dogs off-road and I did get new high clearance uca's but when I had the truck stock it was still impressive I went to buy a Tacoma but they were so expensive it was ridiculous. I would have bought the pro 4x but I needed a longer bed than the 5ft for work. Either way I got everything I need for off road and it's good on the highway I'm in the 4.0 v6 so my gas mileage is the only complaint the new 3rd gens have improved on fuel economy but it's not a deal breaker all in all great trucks!!

    I’m on my third previous generation Frontier, all King Cab’s with 4x4. Ran all of hard on logging roads hunting. Great little trucks. I’ve been thinking about trying something different like a Gladiator but maybe I’ll trade for another Frontier after seeing this. I respect your opinions. Thanks

    What's your undercarriage look like? Mine has less than 3700 miles on it and it's got rust on all the drive shaft components, suspension, leaf springs, coils and steering knuckles..

      That is just about any vehicle here in northern illinois after a month or two of winter with the heavily salted roads. Basically if you are lucky you get about 8-10 good years before you will start getting bubbling paint somewhere.

    why dosen't anyone ever get under coating?
    I've always had all my trucks sprayed with under coating, why wouldn't a seasoned truck owner explain this to new truck owners?
    I bring this from time to time

    I know Toyota has atrac on the higher trim models. Does Nissan have that on the lower models? I love my Toyotas but I’m debating on getting rid of my older car and older truck to have just 1 do it all vehicle. I’m not sure yet though. I do a lot of desert driving, camping, shooting. It would be nice to have something newer but my 2000 tundra is great.

      Depends on the year Toyota you're talking about but they all have some form of a track now. This Nissan had it on the lower model but it was not as effective as the Toyota system

    When it comes to snow its best to drive with a VERY heavy foot when youre moving and a very light foot when youre stuck. Its all about keeping as much momentum as possible.

      Yeah that advice would have probably led to us sliding off of the icy off camber trail... but on flat ground sure

      I mean most pickup trucks are terrible in the snow. Unless you put good tires on them. There's no weight on the back wheels. This one would have benefited from a rear locker and some more intelligent traction control
