This is a question I get asked all the time. So in this video I'm going to answer this and explain the rules of using text to speech in TH-cam videos so that you can get monetization when you apply.

With the rise of AI tools creating TH-cam channels (especially faceless) has never been easier. But with changes in technology come changes in TH-cam policies and the risk of demonetisation.
We saw a wave of channels getting demonetised due to reused content. But suddenly channels that seemed to be following the rules were not getting monetized and the reason given were the text to speech voiceovers being used. However TH-cam have no policy on using AI voices. They know AI is here to stay. So what exactly is going on and why are some non face channels getting blocked? I got to 1000 subscribers and 4K watch hours so I applied for monetization but was denied due to "repetitive content". My channel is faceless. I use Synthesia, Picotory and D-iD mainly. They allowed me to appeal by creating a 5 min video making my case but they denied it again. They said I could appeal again after waiting a month. They wanted a video describing my process of creating my videos. I waited a month and created a short video taking them through my steps to creating and they changed their minds! I am now monitized!

@The Jester's Realm they said "repetitve" and something else. I looked it up by following the link to their detailed explaination but I can't find the link anymore. I proved them wrong and now I'm monitized!
@The Jester's Realm my channel is faceless and all AI tools. TH-cam dint like it at first but they asked me to produce a 5min video showing my process which I did. That convinced them that I was trying to contribute useful and relevant contents
@The Jester's Realm make sure the stock videos you use from pexels, pictory etc are not longer than 4 seconds, if they are longer then 6 seconds cut and join them in editing software. Also as a bonus tip, add subtitles, that way it enforces that its original content.

Man I'm confused. Some creators said that they got their channel removed from the plataform using ai generated videos and you're saying the opposite.
Well if they got their channel removed it wasn't directly because of TTS voices. It would be because of quality or policy breaches like reused and repetitive.

I don't recommend any free text 2 speech tools at this point. It would depend on the quality of the videos overall, but I would say probably not.

In most cases no. Not unless your videos is something of high value and original. YT wants to see effort. It’s impossible for me to comment on all cases

sounds like 100% original content so of course. If you aren't using other peoples content and it shows effort then it's rare that YT wouldn't monetise unless it goes against their terms.

I can't say for sure there are too many variables to comment on individual cases. but my best tip is to make your videos more original and make sure the AI voice is high quality.

With this new voice cloning software, if someone clones someone else's voice and does a video with a completely different script, is that allowed on youtube? As long as it doesn't break any rules and is labelled parody etc. Because a voice cannot be copyrighted. E.g. a parody of politicians saying funny things, using their cloned voices.
Should be, I've seen a lot of parody channels that are monetised. but I can't say 100%. In terms of cloning voices for normal channels most software rules state that you need to have permission to use the voice.

Well it depends on the quality of the videos. But why not start a new channel? Sounds like new and stories are very different audiences

Should be ok, if the voice is good then it's similar to using your own. So as long as YT is ok with gaming footage you should be ok.

Hey, these are the things that i m going to do just tell if it will monetize or not. if not then suggest a little bit.
1. Motivational channel.(shorts)
2. i will take the popular motivational thoughts or sayings and convert it into text and then into ai voice.
3. There will be an ai character narrating it.
4. My efforts will be catchy editing. I will add intense background sound, sound effects, stock photos(little bit in regular intervals), my own created animated avatar pics to show emotions.
5. There will be different ai characters with different ai voices.

I mean you're asking me to answer a lot of hypotheticals. It depends on the clips, the companies, how you repurpose and more. Look to see what others are doing and replicate. But know that movie channels will always be at risk

can I use picture from google like anime characters? Btw I will edit it and put some effects. I'm planning to start an anime review and spoiler. I will also use stock vids for editing and other stuff that is relevant to my niche. Since free stock images and vids doesn't provide everything like anime characters that I needed on my vids. So I'm going to use google images and pinterest but I will edit and add effects. Can I get copyright on the images came from google or not? Will I be monetized?
As long as it falls under fair use then yes, though there is always a small risk of a video getting flagged later. My editors use animation clips

Why are people calling text-to-speech AI text-to-speech?
because they are now using AI to improve it. these tools can do much more now including change language, auto transcribe, replicate voices, show emotion and make sounds.
@@channelprofits It's still just text to speech we have had programs to do this for years. I think everyone throws the term AI in front to attach to the hype. Like the nano-tech phase, they added Nano to all sorts of products. I have yet to see a real AI these"AI" are just NPC program's they can only respond to what they are trained on. Sure they can process faster now but I don't consider it AI yet; on the right track but its not close enough to call it AI in my opinion. I don't think we will see a true AI until we get a quantum computer running and put one on it.

@@channelprofits I have no response to this now. I know I'm in a bit of a minority in that opinion but I'm a pc tech and have been for roughly 35 years. I think an AI needs to be able to learn and grow and so far all I've seen are NPC programs being turned into chatbots and artists. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying they are bad. I use ChatGPT when I need to brainstorm. I don't know anyone alive that I can do that with everyone I currently know wouldn't understand anything I say about technology.

I created a motivational channel, used AI and editited the videos myself. Could not pass for monitisation. Thinking of keeping the channel, but making videos with my own voice this time then re applying for monetisation in 30 days. TH-cam is strict thats for sure.

I started my channel with ai voice cause i don't have enough money to buy mics but i hope to use my real voice once i make enough money to set up a studio. I noticed people in most cases prefer your natural voice over an ai voice.
Most people did prefer but with good AI it’s getting harder. If you have one channel then your own voice is always good. But AI is also super convenient. I do a lot of travel and have to carry loads of equipment for this channel. But my others just need a laptop.

yes, assuming you add a voice to them and enough value and effort. then all 3 options should be monetised. but as mentioned in the video it depends on overall quality and repurposing of content.

Yes 100%. But I think it’s important to start with a monetisation strategy first, for long term success. Viral channels are great but ad rev can fluctuate and you need a lot of views.

If you are talking over it and adding value, e.g. educational, news, review purposes then yes. You need to add something to it to make it new.

What about channels like: Quantum tech HD, and Tech zone? They use text to speech too. Is it ok do something like that?
The issue with these types of channels is fair use, they are bigger and may be getting rights to images and footage. Hard to know.but if you repurpose properly it could work. So long as it’s original and doesn’t break copyright.

How can I solve this? Each time I extract an audio voice in a video and translate it to another audio voice and when I try to put it back to the video it does not match the video any more. Is either the voice is moving faster than the video or the video is moving faster than the voice please how can i make it match to look more real?
You can, not really. All voices even AI are at different speeds. You would need to tweak the video to match. Unless using Pictory in which case it can do this for you.

Maybe, maybe not. depends how original the video is and if YT think you have added enough effort and value. I don't currently recommend any free AI voices.

I am just wondering. A youtube channel like mine with pronounciations, where would you put that? I understand that a simple google translate pronouncing " Burgers" 5 times in 10 seconds on a white background, is one thing, but if i try like mine to make it a bit fun, use some AI TTP voices from famous people we all love and cherish, use the word being pronounced by the AI in a sentence aswell, and even sometimes trying to make it a comedic and real life relevant sentence (like Barack Obama saying he is good at precision bombing), would that be "reuse" and/or "repition" or would it eventually be able to be monetized? I also try to make the thumbnails just a bit different with a relevant picture with the word and the person pronouncing it, to make it easier for people to seek out individual videos on my channel page.
if the video is original and you've added value, then it should be fine. I've not tested with famous voices, but I've seen other channels doing this so it must be working for them.

It is starting to grow, but most of the people are saying that TTS will not be monetized. So I really don't know what to do. If it worth continuing. You are the only one that said that it will be monetized, but you didn't provided links to your monetized TTS channels 🙂
Hi. I don’t share my faceless channel links as I don’t want to damage reach and growth. If this channel makes more money one day then I may start to share more. The points in the video stand. It’s about overall video quality. But the quality of the voice is important as well. There will always be a risk but voice is just a small part. If you are creating great original videos then there shouldn’t be an issue

No it just means TH-cam is showing ads and making money from your content. Which isn't fair, but that's life. I've seen demonetised videos still show ads.

I am having a hard time figuring whether it is the AI voice of some other reason for low retention. Why do people leave in the first 30 seconds?
