I was stationed there my last five months in the army, 52 years ago. We looked out our kitchen window and could see Pike's Peak. Still looks beautiful. Thank You
i have lived and grew up in Colorado Springs ever since i have been 2 years old (approx. 28 years) I am seeing all of these videos of people coming to Colorado Springs and loving it - it just makes me proud of my city for all it has for what i have considered to be a small city but now it is becoming known as something special. The only downfall is the traffic is getting worse and a few undesirable developments but you take the good from the bad...I am glad you enjoyed the city
Thank you for taking the time to share. I really enjoyed watching the video and I would love to take my family on vacation there. We too are African American and so I love the fact that Colorado Springs seems like a nice place to raise a family and build a career. God bless you both and thanks a million.
@@sandysolo_1550 Yupp. Currently living in Netherlands. Nothing wrong with europe, quality of life is generally wayy better. But It's very very boring in my opinion. And that's probably the reason why there's a massive drinking culture in europe lol. I love to explore and U.S just puts everything into place perfectly for me personally. I get some slack, but I was way happier in the U.S
You guys should have grabbed a drink or a meal at the Broadmoor Hotel. It’s one of my favorite hotels in the entire country! Absolutely beautiful!! Next time you go, it’s got to be on the top of your list.
So glad you enjoyed Colorado Springs. It’s not a huge town like Denver, so traffic is manageable. Also, you can fly into Colorado Springs directly from Houston & Orlando. I visited CS 7 years ago - a friendly town with good energy. Next time, check out the US Air Force Academy campus - very nice!
I totally loved this way better than those "Top Ten Things To Do...." in Colorado Springs. Very informative. I found the information about the Royal George Railroad helpful. Also the coffee lemonade in Homa - these are the kinds of content that keeps me watching, and I have a very short attention span. Thanks again.
In my opinion it is so crazy how pretty much all the night life and kinship landing has all been built in the last year and there is only going to be more and more development.
Thanks for video going this July with my kids they all adults, How was the drive from Colorado springs to the royal gorge and can you do train ride and zipline in one day.
@@teerich2011 I haven’t lived in Colorado but I have lived in Hawaii and I’m pretty sure Hawaii is much more expensive then Colorado Springs. State income tax, imported goods, utilities and housing is very high.
Colorado springs is in the foothills of the Rockies just like Boulder, CO. It is a higher elevation than denver sitting at around 6,000-6,500 ft depending on where you are at. Denver is a little bit further away from the mountains in the plains, not sure what you mean by driving up in the mountains unless you are coming from the west side of the Rockies. Colorado Springs is nestled right underneath the 14k Pikes Peak. To answer your question, if you are on the east side of the rockies then no you do not have to drive in the mountains to get here. Once you are here, you are a short 10 minute drive from being in the mountains.
The Springs & Denver can both get pretty hot. Triple digits aren’t uncommon in late Summer, but usually 90s. However, it can drop 30 degrees or more at night, and the heat is very dry. So if the sun is out at the higher elevation, even 85-90 can feel intense. But if there’s cloud coverage, it feels nicer since Colorado has low humidity.
@@queenoliviasjourney absolutely Texas! There is almost none here in Colorado Springs (under 10%) and when I lived in Houston it general was 70% and higher, especially in summer

@@allaboutroofing2 thanks i lived in colorado my whole life, my comment is kinda sarcastic cuz my wife always says there's nothing to do and im like i do whatever i want so what am i missing in Colorado
@@MODUBZ1 honestly the biggest thing I'd say that Colorado springs is missing is water. The nearest reservoir for boating is pueblo reservoir, that is so low on water and so many people that it's darn right dangerous with the chop from boats and undercurrents. I love it here despite that, but homes that were just 300K a year or so ago have shot up into the mid 4s. A home I purchased in 2016 for 200k just sold for $460. It's a 1400 SQ ft rancher and a 1960s home, tho I did update it.

Do you have to drive up into the mountains to get to Colorado Springs like you do in Denver or is like CS at the bottom of the mountain?
That's a little tough because both have plenty of mountains. Best guess is you're not as high as Denver though.
