- 1995 "Dreamcoat Special" on the hugely successful Toronto production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" starring Donny Osmond and Janet Metz, which premiered in 1992.

Wow! Donny has definitely grown since the other Joseph with Maria Friedman! Good vocals though and now in 2020 he’s still living it large and doing a good job! Xx 😘

Saw Donny in 93 in Chicago. Brings back memories..I was 3 going through some rough times and Donny brought back memories of one hell of a great show. As the show ended Donny waved at me. I never forget that moment!

I adore this show! I didn't get to see Donny, but I did see Sam Harris (of Star Search fame, I am dating myself lol) who was fabulous. This was such a fun documentary! Thank you!!!

Thanks so much for sharing this! This was the first musical my parents took me to see in Toronto when I was six. Brings back good memories of how mind-blowing it was at the time. Still one of my favourite of all time. The soundtrack pops into my head randomly and often.

Thank you for posting this!! I’ve been looking for this for a while. I remember when I saw this in Boston back in 1996. Sat in the third row and my aunt, who is a huge Donny osmond fan, was going nuts.
I remember watching this with my parents back then. We taped it with our VCR. Later my Dad and I saw the show in Toronto, (the Elgin Theatre if I remember correctly.). There was an understudy for Joseph that day though. I bought the London cast CD afterwords since the Canadian cast CD was not available then, but I got it as well when it became available.
I grew up watching the movie version with him in it and it’s so cool to see how many of the technical aspects are the same in the movie and this production!! thank you so much for this!!

Such a shame that's not carried on today (apart from when it was revived in London back in 2007), the new production at the Palladium looks meh.
Did anyone ever do a live filming of this stage production when it came out over in Ontario?

I was in the 95 production at the O'Keefe Center ( Hummingbird)
The Jacksons & Osmonds certainly grew up in very different families.
This is not the cast of the 1995 Joseph Production, It is the original Toronto 1992 Cast. I was part of the Children's Choir in the '95 Toronto Production.
I absolutely worship Michael Fletcher (Jacob/Potiphar/Guru).
I watched the film version of this musical!
I saw him here during the north American tour.

Great to hear from someone who was there. I saw Livent's "Show Boat" and "Ragtime" in Toronto, but not the earlier Livent shows like "Joseph."
My dad actually had tickets to see "Phantom" in 1989, but he then sacrificed them to a friend. True story.
