MitchMaker Looks like someone needs to see Harbinger Down(2015). It's more like John Carpenter's The Thing, but it holds up in it's own right. It's also a fully practical FX movie like the oldie-but-goodies.
Because people now grow up watching silly screaming videos on social networks which is good for a 2 minutes video, but not for movies, that's why... sadly true.
Sounds more dramatic and dangerous in the movie. The kind of voice that has the pitch and tone that sounds like "seriously dangerous situation" . This one sounds like a generic countdown and a too computerized voice from a person that sounds a bit too detached. Now, in a real spaceship with a self-destruct sequence a more calm and neutral voice would indeed make the most sense as they don't want to make the escaping crew onboard panic. In the movie however the audience definitely *needed* to be scared which is why the voice sounds so dramatic. How should I put it, a more dramatic touch is needed in the context of a horror movie and realism takes a step back.
Yeah in the game when she even activates the damn thing, she does it slow as hell, unlike in the movie, where you could clearly see she was rushing out of fear. Also the 4 pylons that ride had that "sound" when they were pulled up. That's not in the game, and it's very disappointing. Good dlc, but could be better
It's NEAR perfect, I really love it. The Countdown to override automatic detonation is not required, but it would be nice if the end would be just like the film. We need a final 30 seconds countdown. Also, don't forget "You now have one minute to abandon ship. This ship will automatically destruct in T minus 1 minutes......... T minus 30 seconds." If you could public a download link or bring some modifications, that would make you just even more awesome. Good work, very good work!
its probably my favorite quote of the whole film she also says it again running down the corridor right after that. and strangely, Lambert says exactly the same thing when she slaps Ripley.

I know this is nitpicking, and this is a really good countdown, but isn't there supposed to be a 30 second countdown before the option to override expires? I've only seen clips of the movie so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Or an FPS/RTS hybrid like playing as the aliens you set up your hive as the aliens and as the marines you set up defense and the base just a thought.
Well, the ship’s reactor is overloaded: that’s how the self destruct works. The override expiry is when it reaches runaway criticality and cannot be stopped. I would guess you die, and if somehow you survive in an air pocket, you die from running out of air, burning up in the atmosphere, or radiation.

Tuna Garol It's mother though, and she's a mining vessel. A mother ship doesn't have to be a battle cruiser or a heavy deep space frigate. It's where the heart is.
avernikas Just because it sounds different doesn't make it something else. This is mother, just more high quality and a maybe a different voice actor. You can't argue against that, the developers designed her as Mother, she is Mother.
