The Dwemer reappearing Alduin-style would be one of the coolest plot threads ever. Imagine all of a sudden having a technologically superior race just appear in lands that haven't seen them in eras, who want their land back.
While that would be cool, weren't their bodies all just basically turned to dust when they disappeared? They might just be outright dead. Then again arniel tried to recreate what they did and we can still summon him from wherever.
There was a leak a while ago that stated that 6 will be about the Thalmor wanting to regain immortality for Altmer, 7 will be about Akavir being settled by Tamrielic people and 8 will be about the Dwemer invading Mundus from where they were banished from.
@@ChaingunCassidy bro, the 5 was suppoused to be about uriel septim the fifth coming back from akavir on a dragon with an army of them after him, but in the end it was about alduin, lets wait and see what happen.
It was alluded to the possibility of other Snow Elves who may return or Falmer return to their original state in Dawnguard DLC. It would be wonderful if we could get a chance to see them beginning to thrive and possibly live in pocket societies like the Ashlanders.
They already had lights and elevators and airships and robots by the time they disappeared. By the 2nd Era they would have had spaceships and railguns!
Nedic Slaves after remaining Dwemer vanquish the Ayleid Slavers: "You have liberated us! We are forever in your debt!" Dwemer: "Yes, yes, we were quite happy to help. Now please, try this delicious looking mushroom..."
Hm, I don't think the Dwemer would conquer all. As we've seen, they often have falling outs (like with aetherium) or the Chimer-pact, and likely because they don't strike me as conquest-like. They're not Thalmor, nor Nords or even Imperials who all seem to have a taste for conquest and empires: Dwemer seem more interested in the science of everything and uninterested in conquest (perhaps only in defense of their lands - and their turning of the Falmer seems more like an opportunistic thing to me: here you suddenly have a large group of mer without home that no one will miss... and a fungi with odd effects). Then we have the issue of their opponents: the Nords with their Thu'um could literally shout their automatons apart and I don't know what trumps what: tonal architecture or dragon shouts. The Bosmer's entire wood would have to be burned down I guess, if you want your machines to make it there... but then again, arrows against brass spiders seem like a poor match. The Chimer would still have the backing of three Daedric Princes and I reckon they'd do pretty well once Azura & Co realise *what* powers the Numidium. Then there's the final part: hunger and population. As far as I know, Dwemer weren't super populous. Even with automatons in place to govern their subjects, it's still be the 10% governing the 90%, and I think rebellions would start popping up... places where there are more automatons than dwemer would see them sabotaged, food storages contaminated, Dwemer assassinated... Finally, as some have already mentioned: the Gods seem to favour a balance. They sent Pelinal against the Ayleids who were stronger, both magically and technologically, yet they were decimated.
I'm sure the moment Dwemer empire exist the Akavir invasion wouldn't be merely an invasion anymore but an envoy from the Eight Divines (most likely Kyne, Akatosh & Shor) to save mankind. Furthermore the Hist would show their true nature to prevent further expanding of the Dwemer. The Elven god would eventually step in and try to maintain balance between their descendants
addekrams snow elves totally werent affected by dwemers hunger of power, true. And again, why gather power and technology, if u dont plan to either share it or conquer everything around them
I don't know, seems like a bit of a stretch. The rest of Tamriel would probably see how great Dwemer technology is, and start using it. Even if this were not the case, one must remember that while the Dwemer were very technologically advanced, other races (mostly Bretons, and High elves) wielded extremely powerful spells. That paired with usage of the voice and possible divine intervention from the gods (which Dwemer society mostly disregarded), leaves the other races with a fair chance of standing off against the Dwemer. Even in Tamrielic history a similar thing happened. The Ayelid enslaved man and were generally more technologically, and magically advanced, yet even they were almost completely wiped out.
Also taking the daedric princes into account, it was either sil or vivic that after gaining divinity forcibly made a pact with the princes not to directly interact with nirn. I personally imagine one the more sadistic and egotistical princes attacking the empires of the dwemer. What do you think?
@@MasterOfCydonia you poor soul, the Aylieds weren't fighting because of control and because of faith. The Dwemer conflict about the forge could easily be stopped to overcome a common enemie.
A good point about the infighting. Take for example of the Aetherium Wars. When the four city-states: Arkngthamz, Raldbthar, Bthar-zel, and Mzulft at Skyrim fought over control of the Aetherium Forge.
@@Netseer2000 precisely and dawarven city states working together like with the aethirium forge was a very rare occurrence. The dwemmer would work together if threatened by a large enemy, otherwise they would rather leave each other alone.
@@90skidcultist innovation dosent mean unification, if they arent working together under one authority the dwemer wouldn't have the means or the aspiration to conquer the surface of tamriel.
The fanboys who spent hours theorising what happened to the Dwemer would probably die from utter shock . 😂 But your idea on what happened to the Dwemer is hilarious though .
Honestly, I think a scenario where the Dwemer lose to the Chimer at Red Mountain but don't zero-sum themselves out of existence would've been more interesting than the Dwemer succeeding there and literally never losing a battle ever again. Even if Dumac's group is pushed out of Resdayn, that hardly equals the elimination of the whole Dwemer race. The Chimer won't be in any position to do anything about the Dwemer in Blackreach or Volenfell, after all. I'm also not sure that the migrating Yokudans would be so foolish as to keep throwing themselves at successive failed invasions. They may not be able to reach an accommodation with the Dwemer of Volenfell, who obviously broke with Dumac over his initial willingness to live alongside the Chimer, but I think they might very easily strike a deal with the Breton kingdoms or even the Bosmer where they get some settlements to call their own in exchange for a defensive pact against the Dwemer, Orsimer, or even the Alessian Order. Finally, I'm not so sure that the War of the Crag would have worked out so cleanly in favor of the Dwemer. They may well have put down the Falmer revolt, but I'm not sure they could simply go back to the way things were without ensuring generations of recurring conflict. Either they have to loosen the Falmers' shackles at least a little, or they'll quickly find that they're spending more time putting down rebellions than can be justified by the amount of work they're getting out of their chattel. It's partially a question of how "regressed" the Falmer are at this point, but I've always assumed they were still fully sapient until after the disappearance of the Dwemer. Assuming that's the case, I imagine their slavery would slowly transform into a sort of caste system, as both the cost of rebellion builds up and Dwemer automation technology renders much of their former work as slaves unnecessary. Over the millenia, I suspect they'd become a significant underclass in Blackreach, and possibly end up migrating to other Dwemer-held regions, as well. They'd still be blind, and physiologically similar to the Falmer of the Fourth Era, but without the feral nature. I think they might find kinship with the Orsimer, a similarly embattled underclass not that far from their own home. I'd like to imagine Falmer refugees ultimately escaping from Blackreach and bringing all the mechanical and engineering expertise they learned under the Dwemer yoke to Orsinium, helping defend it from attack by the Bretons and Yokudans/Redguard. Over time, this Orc/Falmer confederacy might even overtake much of High Rock, either driving out the Bretons entirely, or reducing them to scattered coastal holdings.
I would like to point out that the numidium would be powerd by the heart of lorkhan not the souls of wulfharth and zurin, so if the dwemer lost control of the numidium it would be the return of shor/lorkhan/sheor/lorkhaj/shezarr. Think about that for a moment.
Maybe the trick lorkhan played on the dwemer was to make them all vanish? Or the heart swapped the dwemer with the then missing lorkhan, hence he's back. I don't know ES lore much though.
@@SToNeOwNz We really don't know canon wise what happen to them. However in out of game lore AKA not Canon lore the dwemer zero summed, became the skin of the numidium or the went to the 9th era. again we don't know canon wise what happened.
The dwemer even in real life would be a very scary army, flying airships, maybe magic powered guns, bloodthirsty robots, a robotic god, etc; i love the dwarves but god they are brutal.
In defense of the incoming of the Raga'da, back then there would be many more sword singers and Ansai among the warriors (which may have caused the destruction of Yakuda). Obviously the dwarves would be well established, but the Redguards would still give them a run for their money with their Ansai. By this point, all the ragada would be steadfast veterans from their war against the left hand elves. At this point in history, I think the Yokudans are single handedly, the best warriors in Tamriel. And they are desperate at that. I think they're too strong to not even carve themselves some land on Tamriel.
Yep, if we take into consideration the Ansei, the Hoonding, which is pretty much a god all about removing obstacles and the Yokudans immense hatred of elves, I just cant see the Redguards retreating that easily. Personally, I believe that if the Redguards were not able to conqueror Hammerfell they would just nuke the Dwemer with some crazy Shehai technique instead of accepting defeat with that "if we cant have this land nobody can" mindset due to there hatred for elves. I doubt the Nords would submit that easily to the Dwemer to, since they have the Thu'um and a hatred of elves to. So I can see both the Redguards and Nords pretty much fighting to the bitter end and if they lose, potentially taking the Dwemer with them.
@@smuggrog9821 the nords are mighty, but the failed nordic campaign into resdayn was what caused jorgen windcaller to rethink the philosophy behind the thu'um, leading to the military tradition of the tongues fading into history. this all happens before the battle of red mountain, so by the point that the timelines diverged the thu'um would not be something that the nords can count on in times of war.
My guess is an increase to smithing and heavy armor is a definite, probably with some bonuses to enchanting and maybe conjuration and/or illusion magic as well
@@JaelaOrdo The Dwemer were not know for having arcane talents, but they were some of the best alchemist along with smithing and enchanting as you mentioned.
Increased +10 smithing, +20 enchanting, and +10 heavy armor. That would be my guess by Skyrim stat standards. Also possibly a racial skill to summon a dwemer automaton.
Thats the video Im waiting for. and another video of how different Tamirel would have been if the Snow Elves, Kothringi, and lillmothitt, never dissappeared. Granted we dont know much about these races, but it would be fun to speculate
they become military power with pretty good invention maybe? since the statues potray them as scholars and you need to push the sanity limit of your civilization to push back the bloodthirsty Nords back then, assuming this is against Ysgramor and his companion of course.
@@BigBazz91 yeah!!I think it would be a good vid. A lot of guessing room. Plus, at this point Bethesda hasn't release or said a word on elderscrolls 6 yet, leaving the community thirsty for content. To the point where multiple youtubers have to find unique ways to repeat old content, people on forums asking silly questions and people taking theories as fact within the tes universe
You know what would be an interesting take.. if at the Dragonbreak THIS timeline that was actually seen by all Dwemer with their connected minds and they all voluntarily moved into this alternative universe. Choosing to leave their version of Tamriel for this one with more power ...sacrificing the power of their current Numidium to get there and returning to moments before the heart was used
But what if the Dwemer minds weren't actually connected? Keep in mind, all accounts of the Dwemer come from other races, and it's implied the Dwemer actually just had headsets connected by something akin to the internet. It's possible they were described as mind link because the less advanced races didn't understand it. In that case, I don't know if word could get around fast enough.
Going to do a “House Dwemer” Stellaris playthrough, as if House Dwemer left the Magnus system. Gonna make them mechanist (have robots), functional architecture, are subterranean, natural engineers and physicists, are unadaptive, and quarrelsome. Their governing ethics are fanatic materialist. They also are an oligarchy, and could be considered a science directorate.
It may be likely that despite the vastness of a dwemer empire, there'll still be a lot of politics. Sure, they're all geniuses, but sometimes smart men (or mer) want to run things their way which they feel is better. This could result in a fracturing and could give the other races more opportunity to expand their own nations and possibly harness the use of dwemer technology to their own gain.
My impression of the Dwemer is that they were notoriously factional. After all, the Blackreach coalition lasted for a grand total of three years. For beings that potentially live for centuries, that's pretty pathetic.
Apeman of Leng that’s like a weekend group project for a mer. They finished it and then all bickered over who did the most work. Yeah that’s real pathetic for a robot building, long lived, race of super geniuses.
That's exactly what i figured, there's no way a Dwemer empire could be larger than a few clans before breaking apart into their own brass-banana kingdom/republic. If they were widespread enough i see them kicking up a continent-wide civil war that would resemble our World War 1 in convoluted politics and horrific carnage.
The Snow elves and the Deep elves really piques my interest. I'm a sucker for mer and I really like their architecture. They're the embodiment of magnificent.
This was a good “what if” however you forgot about the existence of Gods and Daedric Princes. You forgot heros are gifts with skills DESTINED to destroy the enemy through prophecies and untold amounts of power only capable of the Gods. There would be a hero born possibly as powerful if not more powerful that would lead a rebellion and overthrow them even when the odds are against them
I don't see that happening if the Dwemer activate the Numidium and have another 1000 years or so of development. I also dont see that happening because the Dwemer had little interest in other races or the surface world. If there is a major conflict between, say the Humans and Dwemer, it will probably be the doing of the humans and the Dwemer would win.
Great speculation. The only problematic aspect from my perspective is the omission of the sheer power and glory of all of the Dovah, assisted by Atmorans and later Nords throughout Skyrim. Not to mention Miraak and other Dovahkiin.
Ah yes, the only question about the Dwemer that matters. What's that? What about their technological and magical achievements and advanced society? Pfft, who cares, I wanna know if dwemer women were hot.
I can't fathom how much work this video actually took to write and create. Many thanks for the consistency, one of the most quality and dedicated channels on youtube for its niche
I'm sorry for me at 13:00 the Dwemer would be gone! The Yokudans would kick some ass with their swordswingers i don't think one clan could survive Jedis!
I had just watched how to get Keening on ESO’s channel and I have also been reading a lot on the Dwemer and I have to say that if the disappearance of Arniel from the college of Winterhold and getting Keening from his quest is the same reason that the Dwemer disappeared but instead of Arniel’s soul going to you and the warped soul gem, they went into the Numidium or even other Dwemer creations. I honestly think that in TES: VI we would learn so much more about the Dwarves because on one of the maps you show in this video that Hammerfell ( which for people that haven’t been keeping up on the updates for the next game) is the most possible location to host the game but also the second largest province that the Dwemer owned in the First Era. All I can say is that the Elderscrolls is like a second life for me and I grew up playing morrowind and hope that the elderscrolls continues in the future and we get to learn all the secret mysteries and experience the most important parts of Nirns history.
If it’s more likely for the Redguards to invade High Rock, they probably would have won, right? Then imagine their interactions with the Nords and Orcs
Imagine how easy the oblivion crisis or the planemeld could have been to repel. Would Mannimarco exist? So many questions if the dwemer were still in Tameriel.
I already love this series so much… A good question I think would be what if the Mythic Dawn assassin failed? Basically ”what if Emperor Uriel Septim had survived?”
Tarlo The Boar my guess is the Nedes in Volenfell would be wiped out by the dwemer or in the Ra Gada invasion and after that perhaps the Nords and Redguards form an alliance to try and fight either the dwemer, direnni, or Ayleids.
@@JaelaOrdo I think The Nede's might have tried to flee to High Rock and seek shelter with The Breton Kingdoms. I would think it'd be pretty cool to see a Nord/Redguard team up to fight the Aylieds. I think they'd defeat the Aylieds and claim Cyrodill.

Yo Fudgemuppet! I’ve been binge watching your TES playlist over the lockdown recently to reacquaint myself with the lore. It’s convinced me to return to Skyrim after 6 years. I spent 4 days hunting, downloading, and installing mods I once used + those since my absence. My first playthrough is as a Nord warrior that has returned to Skyrim after a decade serving as a sellsword. He is destined to become the Dragonborn. Yet despite killing a dragon and unlocking the Thuum he doubts he is what some believe, choosing to continue his mercenary ways. So far he has aided many in Whiterun to build a reputation and has now joined the legendary Companions to establish himself as a renowned warrior. After that he will travel each of the Holds with his eventual ally and friend, Inigo, making coin and sparking the beginning of his legend! Inevitably he will realise the threat of the Dragons continues to grow, as does his own power, and chooses to finally answer the Greybeards’ summons. He will train, expanding his knowledge and power, and thus understand and accept his destiny as the Dovahkiin. Destiny is all! The Dragonborn will go on to aid the Empire in ending the Stormcloak Rebellion, knowing from his travels and sellsword life that the Empire is the only chance Tamriel has to defeat the venomous Thalmor. After the war he will be recruited to aid the Dawnguard in stopping an ancient Clan of Vampires that wish to destroy the sun and conquer all mortals. His many accomplishments and expansive reputation/legend lead to him retiring from his position as the Dragonborn in favour of building a manor in Falkreath to settle down in. Years pass but a new challenger emerges, sending cultists to assassinate the DB in his home. The great Hero of Skyrim gathers his gear and sets out to find his new foe and undertake one final adventure. The Hero discovers the truth behind his new foe, and thus the Last Dragonborn will battle the First... Sorry, got carried away 😂😂
Pretty much what I expected, in a manner of speaking. I saw the title on my notification list, and literally shouted, "Oh, sh;+! That's not good for anyone involved!" (While at work)
Eh... can't really agree there. Yes, the mystery is a big part of the Dwemer appeal, but in my opinion a mystery never solved in a fantasy setting like this is just a carrot perpetually dangled in front of our faces: it is initially exciting, but eventually stops being enticing. Now, im not saying there should be a side quest in a future game that solves the ENTIRE mystery in one fell swoop just to make some fans happy. Rather, a gradual unraveling of what truly happened to the dwarves over the course of the series is preferable.
It would be great for the story of Elder Scrolls VI to center on the Dwemer, @@Valencetheshireman927. They would make for one of the greatest villains in the franchise.
I think they're in some realm of oblivion or something like that. It would be cool to travel there in the next game and see the dwemer society they've created in their pocket realm
I love the Dwemer, their steam constructs are super cool. Their armor is badass and the weapons are amazing. Highly evolved and advanced, they are easily my favorite ancient species ever. Wish there was more on them.
You guys always put so much time into these and I always happy to see more videos being done. Keep it up, one day we'll have ES:6 and more info to run over. I do wish you'd focus some more on Morrowind, but I figure that's a bit old for most modern audiences.
I'm not sure if you are still making them, but your "Best Black Book Powers" video kinda inspired the idea of a Champion of Herma-Mora build, like the Pactmaker or Dagon's Disciple. Name: The Seeker Race(Imperius): Breton (Stones of Galen/Shared Ancestry & Magical Bonuses) Nord/Dark Elf (Skaal/Old Way connection to Hermaeus Mora, Dark Elves have a similar connection thanks to DLC and have nice starting bonuses) Standing Stone (Andromeda): Mage Stone and/or Apprentice/Atronach late game with the Aetherial Crown. Maybe go both Apprentice and Atronach? Faith (Wintersun): Hermaeus Mora (duh) With 15% boosted self-beneficial spells and Eldritch Tomes that grant a variety of effects. Stats: 80%/20% Magicka/Health spread until you reach around 500-600 Magicka, at which point go pretty much all health, since the spells you use shouldn't cost too much Magicka thanks to reductions. Backstory: Born to a family of rather well-off citizens, your father was a merchant within the imperial city, and your mother ran an Inn, inside of which you often helped out. As you weren't the most social of people, books were your friends, and you prioritized the pursuit of basic knowledge. At one point, you saw a Wizard within the inn, coming from the College of Whispers. His magic intrigued you, but the secrecy of the College and Synod was infuriating. As such, you only self-taught yourself a few basic spells. However, that's when the dreams began. Dark masses of tentacles and eyes often appeared to you, showing images of Black Tomes and even a multi-colored one. Another image popped up, a large College within a city about to collapse. A feeling drew you towards the North, and after saying goodbye to your father and mother, you headed towards Skyrim, only to be caught on the border...however the voice appeared again, telling you to beware of "Black Wings in the Cold". This was Alduin, who accidentally liberated you. Factions: Immediately after leaving Helgen, setup the character with some novice spells and join the College of Winterhold, completing that questline. Your pursuit of knowledge may lead you to the Dark Brotherhood or maybe even the Volkihar Clan. Quests: Discerning the Transmundane, Main Quest, Dragonborn DLC, Dawnguard DLC, Undeath Lich Mod (optional), Blood on the Ice/Other quests for Magical Trinkets, Dragon Priest Quests, All Black Book Quests, College of Winterhold, the list goes on Spells/Shouts: As a general mage, you'll be taking Spells from a variety of different schools. However, there is a slight twist. In order to get the most out of your large Magicka pool, you'll be using primarily Adept level spells, for AoE damage. The exceptions are Alteration and Conjuration. Spells include Fireball, Ice Storm, Chain Lightning, Conjure Seeker, Conjure Dremora Lord, Flesh Spells, Paralyze, etc. Shouts include Bend Will, Storm Call, Summon Dragon, etc. Perks: Leave it up to you Fudgemuppet, though the skills for Leveling are Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, Enchanting, and Alchemy. Playstyle: At the start of battle, Ocato's recital (stack up Ebonyflesh, Conjure Seeker, and a Cloak Spell) should activate, and then immediately use potions to boost Magic skills and regen. The sling spells while gradually getting closer, and if Magicka runs out, switch to Keening (poison it too) to dish out damage will draining stats. If things get tough, back off and summon minions while also using healing spells. Use shouts when necessary. Powers: Any of the Black Book Powers you prefer, such as Mora's Boon. Devour from Within, Vaporize, and Ultimate Power are given by the Atronach, Apprentice, and Mage stones respectively. Gear: Aetherial Crown or Konahrik/Miraak (Headpiece) Miraak's Robes (Armor), Gloves with Fortify Magicka/One Handed, Boots with any two of the Resist Fire/Frost/Shock enchantments, Ring with Fortify Alteration and Destruction, and an Amulet with Fortify Destruction, Alteration, and Conjuration thanks to the Miracle perk.
The Aethirium wars prove that the Dwemer would find a reason to quarrel and war with one another no matter what. And I also think that both the Aedra and the Daedra would keep coming up with plans to deal with the hubris of the Dwemer.
At some point a Pelinal White-Strike would come around and along with him a Alessian like Rebellion. On top of that a bigger Civil War could start like the Aetherium Wars. On paper the Dwemer seem like they would be able to dominate everyone but so did the Imperials. Except the Imperials offer(ed) Religious Tolerance so many rebellions would arise. It would probably fade like the Ottoman Empire decaying slowly for hundreds of years until they are split up Into small pieces and fade away. The dwemer are also not an aggressive race bent on conquest. Endless peace brings prosperity and time for tremendous growth. Oh the if's.... Thanks for the video guys! *BTW could you do a video on* Ice Mage vs. Fire mage vs. Storm mage Seeing which one has generally best In terms of effects and power. Once again thanks for these videos during these dark times...
Actually there’s one thing you guys forgot to take into account. Mehruunes Dagon. As the overthrower of corrupt governments we can almost guarantee he would have gotten involved with the government that blinds and enslaves other races. And with his help the other races likely would have allied in an attempt to put an end to what would have been the greatest threat in Tamriel at the time. So perhaps an even more deadly battle would ensue underground, with countless Dwemer and other races being slaughtered. I can imagine they’d also rescue many Falmer who wouldn’t have become goblin-like creatures but instead be blind but civilized. Then for many centuries a massive war would ensue between the nations, more than likely the Dwarves would be successful however, luckily for the other races they’ll never have to know.
Maybe the dwemer are stuck in another dimension not a plane of oblivion but an entirely different realm all we know they have made cities big a Galaxy with infinite resources and population big as since they've been gone I don't how if anything this way they wouldnt be disturbed with there experiments
Excellent content. I love it when you guys theorize like this. Do you think that in this timeline, the voice would retain its importance among the Nords?
If the Dwemer felt so threatened and cornered to have used the artifacts on the heart, what makes you think they would have won so decisively as to have driven the chimer out at the time?
I think the partial victory timeline might be more interesting. The Chimer are forced into the south off of Vvardenfel but they are made to treaty instead of a total rout. The Yokuda conquer the Gold Coast portion of Hammerfell as the Dwemer are centered on Illiac Bay. Maybe the presence of the Dwarves in the reach give Nords, Orcs, Falmer and Reachmen a common enemy and a barbaric uprising succeeds in destabilizing the area and lose their foothold in the region.
"What if the War of the First Council never happened?" Scenario: Kagrenac, when reviewing his calculations, sees that using the Heart as he planned would lead to the disappearance of his race and abandons the project before House Dagoth can ever discover it. Maybe I just wish there could be an Elder Scrolls: Resdayn
The dwemer simply didn’t wanna live in a reality where their gods don’t exist because they mock the Aedra and scorn the daedra. After they fail to make their own unique God using a piece of divinity they probably said screw this world and mass suicides or planar traveled leaving Tamriel en mass
What if durnavhiir didnt get trapped in the soul carin and got his army!!!??? What if sky whales replaced the dragons and the dragons replaced the sky whales, and the dragons had four limbs instead of being two legged wyverns?!
This a pretty big stretch in my opinion. It didn't take very long for them to destroy them selves once, the idea that they wouldn't do so again with even falsely earned confidence seems very unlikely. Not to mention they are far too prideful to unite all under one order without breaking apart or worse.
I’m imagining all of the Dwemer returning in an instant, with absolutely no memory of where they’ve been or what happened to them. As if they blinked mid-Numidium crisis and when they opened their eyes they were in our future. The sudden change in power dynamic that they would be completely oblivious to, and the amount of tension that would stir throughout all of Tamriel. I’m here for it
I want an alternate universe where the king ordered the execution of the Rosicrucian order of science instead of having it go from a secret society to the Royal Society creating the modern world of science and engineering we have today.
Just a fun thought. What if the vampire lords use the weakened state of some of the other territories to expand their numbers and then decide they like the idea of an entire region connected by underground tunnels to avoid the sun. Could they slowly start expanding their numbers inside the dwarven empire to a point where the dwarves couldn’t stop them?
What I find missing is the potential of conflicts between the Dwemer themselves, or waxes and waning as genius generations gradually pass, replaced by more complacent ones, then eventually a new industrial revolution, the cycle repeating.
@@thewizardoz3917 Not exactly, they're in fact a special argonian group that born under the sign of the shadow but some are offered to the Dark Brotherhood. In parts it's true that they were in some aspect part of the Dark Brotherhood, however they have their own rules(even that they're rules are similar)
See I disagree, tho I do find that most people would just assume that giving it’s the obvious choice. My whole thing is, the brotherhood was born because the tong was faltering from their beliefs. Given the history and contacts that we already have from them in the past I think it would be fair to say that a new branch would have formed possibly a new and better improved version. Long story short, there’s a lot of room for speculation which is why I brought it to fudgeMuppet attention.
The Dwemer contained an elder scroll as we know, and misused it causing the Divines to punish them. But the Daedra offered them a deal. Protection from the gods for their permanent enslavement and powerful tools (Volendrung and Spellbreaker). In Oblivion we see all sorts of traps like towers that shoot fire and exploding disks. The Daedra don't seem the type to create all those traps. The sigal stones reek of Dwemer, and there are spells to summon automatons where would all those come from if not Oblivion?
The Divines are not a monolith, and Daedra aren't idiots. There's no reason why the Sigil Stones would have anything to do with the Dwemer when the Dwemer mocked a Prince to her face. The Stones hail from a time prior to the separating of the Mer tribes into their current incarnation and require the cooperation of one of the Lords of Misrule to be imbued with power. Also, why would the divines give a crap? The Imperial Divines are a creation of Alessia to bridge the Nords and the Ayleids; the other races have a regional variant of the gods.

@@ChaingunCassidy bro, the 5 was suppoused to be about uriel septim the fifth coming back from akavir on a dragon with an army of them after him, but in the end it was about alduin, lets wait and see what happen.
@@asafbochnick3712 That actually was the case but Todd said it was too complicated to do at the time
It was alluded to the possibility of other Snow Elves who may return or Falmer return to their original state in Dawnguard DLC. It would be wonderful if we could get a chance to see them beginning to thrive and possibly live in pocket societies like the Ashlanders.
I've been wanting to see an Elder Scrolls game about Akavir for 6 years!

By the 4th Era they would have made computers
By the 4th era they would be predator level
Imperials had spaceships that went into atherius. Search it up. TES: Battlespire Includes it too.

Nedic Slaves after remaining Dwemer vanquish the Ayleid Slavers: "You have liberated us! We are forever in your debt!" Dwemer: "Yes, yes, we were quite happy to help. Now please, try this delicious looking mushroom..."
"Oh I wouldn't say freed, more like, under new management."
@@Yutiradon The comment I was looking for
Hm, I don't think the Dwemer would conquer all.
I agree, I would compare them to dwarves from other stories like lotr. they dwell in the mountains and they just wanna be left alone.
Not bad
Yeah i feel that the dwemer just want to sit in their cities and do experiments.
The Aylieds had a inside conflict so... don't bring them up.
@@jonytequileiro So did the Dwemer. The war over control of the Aetherium Forge.
@@MasterOfCydonia you poor soul, the Aylieds weren't fighting because of control and because of faith. The Dwemer conflict about the forge could easily be stopped to overcome a common enemie.
Pelinal would return to wipe out the Dwemer.
The dwemer where famous for infighting, cant see this at all without some tiber septim like dwemmer to unite them all.
Yeah, but even with the infighting, dwarven individuals were capable of insane accomplishments
Infighting creates Competition and leads to innovation.
@@90skidcultist innovation dosent mean unification, if they arent working together under one authority the dwemer wouldn't have the means or the aspiration to conquer the surface of tamriel.

But your idea on what happened to the Dwemer is hilarious though .
With the Nerevarine
Partying in Akavir with The Neravarine and Tsceasi like "You guys are pretty cool"
They are using Uriel V’s pc to do it.

Yagrum Bagarn
Get this to top!
Dont forget the dwemer are mer and the yokudas straight up killed the last aylieds because they reminded them of the sinistral elves

Keep in mind, all accounts of the Dwemer come from other races, and it's implied the Dwemer actually just had headsets connected by something akin to the internet. It's possible they were described as mind link because the less advanced races didn't understand it. In that case, I don't know if word could get around fast enough.

Race(Imperius): Breton (Stones of Galen/Shared Ancestry & Magical Bonuses) Nord/Dark Elf (Skaal/Old Way connection to Hermaeus Mora, Dark Elves have a similar connection thanks to DLC and have nice starting bonuses)
Standing Stone (Andromeda): Mage Stone and/or Apprentice/Atronach late game with the Aetherial Crown.

Spells include Fireball, Ice Storm, Chain Lightning, Conjure Seeker, Conjure Dremora Lord, Flesh Spells, Paralyze, etc. Shouts include Bend Will, Storm Call, Summon Dragon, etc.
Perks: Leave it up to you Fudgemuppet, though the skills for Leveling are Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, Enchanting, and Alchemy.

11:10 Yah but Redguard have Guns and Curved Swords. Curved. SWORDS!!
A curved sword is realistically only good against unarmored opponents, so peasants.
*BTW could you do a video on*
Ice Mage vs.
Fire mage vs.
Storm mage
Seeing which one has generally best In terms of effects and power. Once again thanks for these videos during these dark times...
these What if... vids are really fun, maybe a "what if Lorkhan..." video would be really awesome but also incredibly heavy to make
Actually there’s one thing you guys forgot to take into account.
Thank you Thank you for putting time and hard work into making your videos i love them!
“The dragons were never gone, just invisible and very quite”
- M’aiq the liar
Maybe the dwemer are stuck in another dimension not a plane of oblivion but an entirely different realm all we know they have made cities big a Galaxy with infinite resources and population big as since they've been gone I don't how if anything this way they wouldnt be disturbed with there experiments
I had a thought tonight: What if the Dwemer in Hammerfell built automatons that repair each other?
Do the dwemer have a robot fetish?
We'll never know
Lol
We haven't found sex robots yet, nor any of the female form. The centurions are open for interpretation.
Well they were deviants. In ES3 you find an ash pile peaking through a door where 2 more ash piles with a dildo and lube are.
Excellent content. I love it when you guys theorize like this. Do you think that in this timeline, the voice would retain its importance
among the Nords?
If the Dwemer felt so threatened and cornered to have used the artifacts on the heart, what makes you think they would have won so decisively as to have driven the chimer out at the time?
Couldn't wait to get home and watch this. I was not disappointed.
I'd like to see more about the snow elves in a game
10:05 I literally blanked out and stopped paying attention because I saw a shiny sword in the background.
*slams table*
LET ME PLAY A DWARF
Right??
Check out the time lost dwemer mod
@@nilved4960 I mainly play ESO right now but will look into it if i get back to other ES games
First video I've seen from your channel and I gotta admit it was very intriguing. Subscribed right after.
great video
I think the partial victory timeline might be more interesting. The Chimer are forced into the south off of Vvardenfel but they are made to treaty instead of a total rout. The Yokuda conquer the Gold Coast portion of Hammerfell as the Dwemer are centered on Illiac Bay. Maybe the presence of the Dwarves in the reach give Nords, Orcs, Falmer and Reachmen a common enemy and a barbaric uprising succeeds in destabilizing the area and lose their foothold in the region.
Cool vid. Will you do a vid about what would happen, should they return exactly the way they have been when they disappeared?
"What if the War of the First Council never happened?"
Scenario: Kagrenac, when reviewing his calculations, sees that using the Heart as he planned would lead to the disappearance of his race and abandons the project before House Dagoth can ever discover it.
U should do one if Alduin was never sent forward in time!!! That would be cool
What if durnavhiir didnt get trapped in the soul carin and got his army!!!???
What if sky whales replaced the dragons and the dragons replaced the sky whales, and the dragons had four limbs instead of being two legged wyverns?!
Trick question; wyverns are dragons. Check mate.
This video serves to remind us that some mysteries in fiction are best when they are left a mystery.
Brilliant work! Cheers!
“What if the dark brotherhood never formed” man would Tamriel be different or what?
Morag Tong would replace it,or maybe the Shadow Scales would do
I thought the shadow scales were a part of the brotherhood.
Ok
See I disagree, tho I do find that most people would just assume that giving it’s the obvious choice. My whole thing is, the brotherhood was born because the tong was faltering from their beliefs. Given the history and contacts that we already have from them in the past I think it would be fair to say that a new branch would have formed possibly a new and better improved version. Long story short, there’s a lot of room for speculation which is why I brought it to fudgeMuppet attention.
this was awesome. thanks for the vid.
The Imperial Divines are a creation of Alessia to bridge the Nords and the Ayleids; the other races have a regional variant of the gods.
i liked this alternate time line alot .. sounds like a world id want to explore .. a clockwork steampunk world ruled by bearded elves loved it
