Thank you so much for the lovely message! I will put the part 2 and vintage releases together. I’ve just made a new summer McCalls video for this week too. Simplicity just keeps on giving this month! 😘😘❤️
Thanks Kim! Sorry it’s so late, I had to have another procedure in hospital and then had a super poorly pupper so it’s been a couple weeks of sleep deprivation over here 😂🙈. How are you doing? 😘😘
@@SewinginSwitzerland I am in hospital at the moment, having had surgery, so your video has really cheered me up. Will explain fully what's gone on once I get home. Everything has moved so very quickly.
Oh goodness Kim, sending lots of love. Hope it’s all going okay in there and that you’re getting some good rest too. Do reach out when you’re back home and recuperating. Hope you’re okay, let me know if you need anything 😘❤️❤️
Will do - I’ll let you know when I’ve done them, really keen to see how they sit on the different body shapes. My husband is 6’3 and I’m only 5’5 so it’ll be a fun comparison!
I must say I'm underwhelmed by the vogue releases. Love your reviews. Would love reviews on some of the indie patterns something like pick a company and 5 patterns you'd like to try and 5 you wouldn't touch. Or a tried and true list of patterns you love.
Hello Bronwyn, completely agree - it was all just a bit blurgh really! I think they’ve done a little better with the McCalls release - will put a video out on that next week. Thank you for the lovely feedback, I am very grateful. Absolutely fantastic video ideas - will put them together for you! I love a good tried and tested and often use them as my palatte cleansers between new patterns and I’ve got a few great ones so I’ll put the list together! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, sending love 😘❤️
Oooh are you going to make any? What was your fave one? I’m definitely going to make the jacket and the shirt, I think they will look fun in something bold and bright! 😍❤️
I love your pattern reviews, and to be fair, most of the stuff was quite ghastly. You nailed it. With regards to the V2039, I agree with you. The man's shirt reminded me of what my dentist wore. Was getting a bit of PTSD! LOL. And men and women do not share the same body types. And funny how they've used blue for boys and pink for girls! Adam from AdamSews made the hey day dungarees and he had a heck of a time getting them to fit. Men generally are straight up and down and women have curves. And with trousers, how ever could they fit properly since women have bums and hips, men generally don't. A fail. I don't think there was one pattern I would want to make or wear. Love love love what you do here Sam!!
Dentist PTSD 😂😂 I feel the same way! Oooh didn’t even notice the blue for boys/pink for girls - great catch! I really hate it when they do that! I don’t know AdamSews so will check out his page - thank you for the recommendation, I love watching sewing videos! I have told my husband I am making his and hers trousers as a test so he’s had fair warning, the poor guinea pig 😂😂. I’m still baffled over the work trousers and itty bitty crop top to be honest, it haunts me 😂. Hope you have a great weekend love! 😘😘❤️
v2037 - we do disagree slightly. Instead of screaming "naughties", to me it screams "70s safaris suit". I know you like the jacket, but personally I wouldn't give it closet room.
V2037 - Argggghhhhh (insert mental image of Kim running around and pulling on her hair). My thought on shirt/jacket isn't that it's Asian so much as nfluenced by someone's perception of how an alien would dress. One thing I find interesting is if the shirt is lined or not. The cover image has a pale fabric but where it shows against the pants, the inside of the shirt look dark, which is making the pants appear very baggy. I would be tempted o make the inside of the shirt in a fabric that contrasts to the pants, not that I'm being picky or anything. 😜
Haha I thought you would have some thoughts on this one! I checked the pattern and it doesn’t say lined so I think it could possibly be a shadow but yes, I totally see where you mean! Okay hear me out though - in a metallic fabric, leaning into your alien vibe, would look pretty cool?!?
I disagree on a couple of patterns, but on the whole, no, you are bang on the money. Vogue really has moved away from the concept of style that once made it such a high end product. Personally, I would like to see vogue step back and re-assess it's core clients and what they want. Maybe I am not their core client, perhaps I am too old, but I really do feel they a missing the mark with each new release. 😥
I will make the jacket and attempt to convert you 😂😂. Yeah that’s totally it, there’s nothing new or exciting or even bizarre in a fun way, just odd combos and absolutely no luxe or high end showstoppers like you’d expect to see. Also, don’t think it’s an age thing - I don’t think anyone would wear a crop top and work trousers together 😂😂🙈
Vogue isn't keeping up with style trends, which is a shame. Considering the plethora of indie patterns with more sophisticated styling and better fit, Vogue isn't worth the money.
Denise, lovely to hear from you. I often wish I have people’s email addresses so I can drop in. How are you doing? Sorry it’s been chaos here with Spud’s cancer, then I had an op and just got super behind on catching up. Yes, completely agree - Vogue seem to be lagging behind, especially against their indie counterparts - absolutely agree. Hope you’re doing well and having a fab weekend 😘😘❤️xxx
I would be interested in part 2 and the vintage patterns. I always enjoy your pattern reviews.

Yayyyyyyeee, It's Sam with a pattern review - my favourite thing to watch. Now to watch the review

Yes, of course I want part 2. I think you do the absolute best pattern reviews. No you were not too harsh with New Look.
You are far too kind, thank you 😘❤️
Also think it would be really interesting if you made the his and hers trousers.

I think you should be a pattern advisor- you have a good eye!
You are so kind, thank you so much. Such a lovely message! I think at this point, simplicity would pay me to stop talking about their patterns 😂😂🙈

😂😂😂😂 not the safari suit 😂😭 not even in a super bold, bright print?! I’m thinking something like a Marimekko Unikko? Delicious!
V2039 - if you ask me , & no one did, the man looks like he's wearing a trendy dentist uniform.
Yesss totally agree, but like a dentist from a thriller movie - like it’s just off?! I think it’s the sleeves!
