I decided to watch the Spice Girls during the 1997 Brit Awards where they performed Wannabe as well as Who Do You Think You Are. This performance is remembered for Gerri's iconic Union Jack Dress. What did I think? Watch the video to find out!

This performance is so simple and effective at the same time. They have great tunes! I think it was common to lipsync at the time. Mel C has the most distinctive voice, so strong, you will get to know them all. You should react to their videography to help you. Emma has an awesome voice as well so sweet and you can hear it almost everytime harmonizing. Geri is raspy, Mel B so deep and Victoria so elegant, their voices matches their personalities as well.

Then the Spice Girls performed the next year at the BRITS their single:"STOP". They did it amazing!!!! I remember between the crowd: Jools Holland's huge smile & Tom Jones with eyes wide open.

For the first time, Emma & Victoria swapped their theme colors; Emma wore little black dress while Victoria wore white & while Geri stole the night with that iconic Union Jack mini dress that became the trade mark of the Spice Girls, Mel B made the leopard print as her signature style.
Mel B is my favorite fit of the night!

You should react to Spice Girls Live at Wembley in 1998 (their greatest concert ever) or at least "Viva Forever", "Naked" or "Something Kinda Funny" from the show. "Viva Forever" in particular, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The final part with Mel C's amazing voice, the blending of Mel C and Mel B tones and the children's choirs is breathtaking. Speaking about the Brit Awards, "Stop" in 1998 was great, even better as the vocals were live.

Live in Istanbul 1997 is far better, it has the vibe of the 5 girls at their peak of fame, coolness and concentration. Wembley 1998, as big as it was because it was Wembley Stadium, they were burned out, and it has a weird vibe because since the very beginning you know the biggest element of Girl Power and the leader of spices is missing aka Ginger Spice, so weird have them play a pre recorded voice at the opening for her Spanish rap in “If You Can’t Dance”, even at the very end, the voice calling them back to the “mothership” is Geri’s voice.
I remember watching this on that night, and was transfixed on Geri and her outfit. Love that Mel C nearly didn’t make it back to the girls and had to run to get there in time. Happy new year Sal.

Love that your enjoying them so much! They're my favorites of all time. Id definitely recommend watching their 'Giving You Everything' documentary from 2007 it gives you a fairly good insight into them and just how big they were. Hope you keep reacting to more Spice Girls performances / concerts

I LOVE watching these SO much! I came out amonst the backdrop of Girl Power, my first boyfriend took me to see the movie 7 times! Such good memories! You should review Geris performance of Bag It Up at the Brits in 2000 when she emerges from between a giant pair of inflatable legs! ❤

A friend of mine is Melanie C childhood friend so I met her and Geri once, they are very nice, Melanie C was the real singer between of all them, she really can really reach high notes in live concerts, they were chosen more because of their personalities than singing talent, Melanie was the only one chosen exclusively because of her voice, Geri is married one of the richest men in the UK, she is posher than Posh now lol

@Skunky Stinkerson IMO the 2007 reunion tour is too dark and not "Spice" at all. 2019 shows were fun, colourful and dynamic, it was the most "Spice" show they've ever made.

@@SalRocha Apparently the stylist said she couldn't wear it because it was "racist" i.e. National Front. She said sod that I'm British and just to make sure there was no misunderstanding she added a peace sign on the back. The boots are second hand and sprayed with Red car paint. Geri always had an empowering message to send out. The dress went for £44,000 at auction for charity. The most expensive clothing in pop memorabilia in history. Mel B is my favourite too but there's no doubting Geri's vision and message of equality and empowerment which made her so popular.
