@@TheFreshRinseI wish Diamond Back would rerelease this classic in both 20 and 24 inch.I know they did a 24 inch prototype for Diamond Back pro David Clinton in about 1982/83, but it never went into production. After the rereleases from SE,SKYWAY,MONGOOSE,RALEIGH, I got in touch with Diamond Back to ask whether they’d be rereleasing the Turbo, but they’ve gone cold on BMX, which is odd because BMX made their name! I’d love to buy one of these bikes(couldn’t afford one at the time),but when they come up on eBay,they’re fetching big money, the same as the Patterson’s.Oh well, one can only dream!😿
Absolutely stunning! Great job! Had one when I was 14.. I kept it in my bedroom… I would stare at it for hours. One of the most beautiful bikes ever made.
Great rebuild!, my dream bike just perfectly brought back to life. I been slowly restoring 1981 silver streak being in uk parts hard to locate. Thanks Mike!
I brought one of my BMXA’s Harry was featured in to have him sign when he came to one of my local bike shops in Fresno back in ‘83 I believe. While I was there, along with many others, some guy brought his young son (10ish yrs) and bought him a Turbo and Harry signed the bottom of the bottom bracket. I KNEW it was be a future gold mine then!
That’s one sweet ass bmx the BD Turbo. One of my favourite bmx of all times. But my favourite would be the kuwahara neon pink I had back in 85/86 before it was stolen.
Diamondback was my ride back in the day. Started with a Superstreak for racing but bought a Mike Dominguez Strike Zone for freestyle. Missing those bikes hugely!

Love Diamondbacks.I probably would have wanted to have Chrome Handle Bars instead.Aside from that! Beautiful Bike.Nice Build indeed.😎 long Live The 80's.
Im not a Diamond Back guy, and can tell by the frame size, and Geometry, I wouldn't ride this bike being 6 ft 1 and over 240, but that being said, absolutely amazing build!!!!! What cranks are those?
@@TheFreshRinse Hope is well with you. You know the effect that the “Harry Leary” Turbo had on all of us. And I say it again the work that you done on that piece of art, is pure art. Outstanding….!! Im sure you’ll have another project coming up, can’t wait.
Was the lightest production bmx 21lbs. Maybe I'm thinking of the turbo lite..expert not the pro. What's this turbo weight?. Frame supposed to be 3.5 lbs.
@@TheFreshRinse are you sure? I think I see some duct tape residue on it from where I taped 2 L bottles on it so it would float. Or is that the one that sank?
Hmmm I'm bout ta ask ya a question one shouldn't ask about anothers dream build anything from your 5 star job on blending new bmx era with oem from our era. But heres my question I'll explain y I'm askin could ya gimmie a ballpark of this build keep in mind my buddy own a bike shop n built a re release big ripper went overboard on it hand kad bassett 29s with those sick hubs. But im asking cos I still have n use my 84' Superstreak not Silver n no I'll probably make my kids bury it with me b4 I sell. Broken so many parts over yrs I still have my orig frame forks n neck tho. I've updated it with 3piece 48 spoke straight laced rims. But I been curious bout getting all my parts n storin em just cos It was a only run for the later few mnts of 84. DB brought it in to replace the pacer 500 which was the Silverstreak frame Tiwain w 500 on the drops. Both the Turbo an Pacer came out n 84 with all racers n mind. Turbo a 100% success...pacer flopped. Designers sent the Japanese built turbo prints to Tiwain the only changes are angles. Both introduced the smaller diamond gussets and were the beginning of the end of the beautiful rear loop backs.
Sick build. Love the diamond gusset. Completely awesome
Thank you brother

The Turbo is my personal fave BMX and I have never even seen one in person. Awesome. You are doing god's work!

It must feel very special to have a Turbo mate. It's beautiful. I have some great old DB's, but sadly never got my hands on a Turbo. Great build!

I really miss having mine... This was the most beautiful bike aside from the Hutch Pro star in my opinion
Still loving this one
Turned out good. Blueing still looks a bit dark. My cranks were a lot lighter. Couldn't afford the whole bike in 1983
