Agreed. I actually struggle with my weight also. But i used to work with a lady who had to sneak behind her husband's back to go to the gym. He wanted her to stay big but she was worried about her health. I will say though, she was probably 400 pounds and he adored her. I wish i had a guy look at me like that...

I had a boyfriend encourage me to eat badly, and I went from a normal bmi to being overweight. He “joked” at one point that he was glad I gained weight so that he could basically keep me from being with other guys. That’s messed up.

I don’t think most people that are body positive are condoning it and saying there are not downsides, it’s that just because you are obese doesn’t mean you’re not human and don’t deserve to be treated as such. At the end of the day they know what they are doing will kill them and their body hurts, but it’s not my place to make you feel like shit on top of that. I don’t think your comment is disrespectful because I agree it is a problem! There are usually physiological issues that go along with it or past trauma that led to relying on food as a unhealthy coping mechanism so often I think therapy is required before many people can loose weight.

My grandfather was like that and he had to have his legs cut and he was blind of one eye. Sadly he died but his death made me more healthy. Being overweight like that can cause you harm or death
It’s not just “obese” people that get tired from walking down stairs. And just because you’re “obese” doesn’t mean you’re not healthy. The people that you see as “obese” or “fat” could be healthier than you ever will be. Weight doesn’t determine whether you’re healthy or in shape, its just a representation of how your body chooses to handle it.

Honestly, shes at a weight that she doesnt have to do crazy exercise to lose weight. Romantic walks with her husband every morning is perfect for her.
From a formerly morbidly obese chick...I can guarantee you that it’s 90% a food issue that she has. People assume that obese people are just lazy and don’t want to exercise and hitting the gym would solve our problems. Though exercise could help when it comes to simply overweight people....usually when people are obese or morbidly obese; exercise would hardly make a dent in the amount of excess calories they’re consuming unless they’re doing it several hours every day. (Which could be easier for thin folks to hop on a treadmill to do after they have a cheat day or a after a weekend eating a lot of excess calories etc...but when regular every day tasks are so difficult for morbidly obese people, that isn’t at all likely/plausible an option...so the excess fat just adds up and continues doing so)

She is addicted to food and is self medicating most likely to attempt to heal her depression, and he is addicted to obese women most likely to compensate from a previous relationship where he was cheated on or made to feel inadequate and insecure. By being with morbidly obese women he feels safe knowing that they are so “grateful” to be with him - that they won’t cheat and will worship the ground that he walks on. Wow, kudos to you! I've been on weight watchers for almost a year. I have lost about 15 % of my original weight and I feel really good. I am still in the obese catagory but I have learned to focus on feeling healthy rather than the numbers on the scale.
