Can't you get infinite treasure on just Chatterfang and Pitiless Plunderer, assuming you have 2 squirrels on board? Pay a black, sac one squirrel, targeting the other. Two creatures die, so you get 2 squirrels and 2 treasures. Use 1 treasure to pay for the next loop, and keep going until infinite treasures.
Actually, you only need 1 squirrel token, not two! Pay 1 black and sac a squirrel token or any squirrel other than Chatterfang itself to target any other creature, then Pitiless Plunderer will trigger and resolve putting a treasure token which triggers Chatterfang to create a squirrel token, then use the treasure to keep the loop going. With a die-and-drain creature on the battlefield, you'll be able to go infinite till every opponent is dead. I believe you can even use the 1 squirrel token to target itself too even if you had no other creatures to target that you'd want to target.
@@chedddargoblin The case that you can is relevant due to the possibility that your opponents don't have any creatures at the moment you assamble your combo. It's about "you could do it on your own".
If your were to couple dina, soul steeper. W/ ur slimfoot combo. Wldnt that hit them x2? Just thinking out loud Trying to build a squirrel deck myself. But its difficult bc ive also never played commander format. So im learning & building on the fly.
Yes that would hit them twice since Dina would also trigger when you gain the life. If you’re going infinite you don’t need it but if you just want to value ping everyone to death it can definitely be good. If you want more help or advice with your build we have a channel dedicated to building Chatterfang on our discord server! Myself and others have been sharing squirrel tech in there discord.gg/BHQ3mEBcRC
Nice builds!!!! Is there a reason why Ruthless Knave isn't in the Hulk list anymore? And what's your experience with the deck so far? I kinda really dig it tho I'm wondering how strong it is...
He was just kinda clunky and I found I didn’t really want him on the field compared to other faster combo options. I think the list is strong for sure but not necessarily stronger than other similar GB hulk lists like Varolz or Dina. It’s main strength is it has the best backup plan out of any of the other GB hulk decks and it has a great hulk pile but you trade that for your combo being a bit more expensive.
Theres a squirrel deck in my playgroup.... I cant hate on other tokens... I'm playing abzan combo tokens myself.... the others in the group are not fans of us....

Yep! The combo is even better than we thought! You get get like a blood pet or something for the hulk pile.

Why target the 2nd squirrel? Why not do infinite +2/-2 to your opponents creatures? Clear the board and get infinite mana

@@schattenmund yeah, you can do that after you wipe your opponents board though
"maybe my squirrels like microdosing" got me
Squirrel/pirate tribal is awesome, you gave me an idea to make a budget version of chatterfang
Made me laugh. Subscribed.

@@ElderDrunkenHighlander thx!!!! Yeah....kinda felt this way...less explosive...more clunky...
But I love the combos and the lines....kinda refreshing
How do you use Dockside if red isn’t in Chatterfang’s color identity?
You can steal other players’ Docksides by using reanimator spells or Praetor’s Grasp
