We speak English, have the same humour, music, fashion, sports etc. as the British (English/Scots/Welsh). By the way the I.R.A didn't exist in the 1910's and during the war of independence the I.R.A where just as ruthless as they where in the recent troubles, if the old I.R.A had the weapons then, they would surely have used them as the Provos did. The old I.R.A disappeared alot more people than the P.I.R.A ever did and that's just in Cork. It was all a very sad time and actions taken on all sides where bad and hopefully never repeated, but there certainly should not be a hierarchy in which the Provos where worse than anyone else as that just factually is not true.

I’m British, we have too much in common with the Irish for me to have anything but fraternal feelings for them. My own family has an Irish wing to it, and my wife’s family even more so. Tea, Alcohol, the weather, sarcasm, comedy… too many similarities. Don’t get me wrong, they are their own people, but I like the people they are. I just wish that our joint history was not so full of horror.
Ordinary people are the same in every country. We are all human beings with the same dreams and aspirations. If we ignored political propoganda and sought the truth it would make for a better world.

If anyone ever asks me about the impact of the Irish in England, I would always tell them to watch (on TH-cam) the speech by the Irish President Michael D Higgins given in the Houses Of Parliament London during his State visit there in April 2014, it was really funny but so important.

I’m an Englishman living Northern Ireland, one of my closest mates here is a West Belfast man. He makes a very distinct difference between the actions of my government over hundreds of years and the modern day Englishman. I’m not responsible for anything that has happened throughout history and although I am very proud of my country I certainly do not agree with everything we have done throughout history.

Oldest brewery in the world in Dublin, oldest whiskey distillery in the world in Co. Antrim - Bushmills. Largest amount of Neolithic art in the world, at the world heritage site at the Bru na Boinne complex and the intact passage tombs at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth and thousands of other sites across the Island. The beautiful Long Gallery library with its many ancient volumes and manuscripts incl the world famous Book of Kells. Ireland is a beautiful ancient country, well worth a visit.
But an Irish full breakfast is far better than an English one. 🤣
You put chips on it, often no beans or mushrooms, no fried bread and why in the name of christ invent white pudding? It's just grain.
You do however do a good bacon and cabbage once you have the right sauce.

My grandfather was born in County Mayo in 1927 and landed in New York he was 6 without a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, and worked multiple jobs until he was 74. He was as Irish as you, and I will continue to hyphenate my heritage like every other American son of immigrants. And I'll do it with or without your permission. I'm a proud Irish American.

I am irish,I am 39 and have no problem with English people, I have English friends and they are brilliant, it's the government, army and the powers that be allowed all the horrible things happen to Irish people over the years and still letting it happen in 2024.
Here in America, most white people with Irish last names have some English ancestry and most white people with English last names have some Irish or Scots-Irish ancestry, depending on the region. Interestingly, many people in Ireland and Scotland probably have some English ancestry due to the past conquests and many people in England probably have some Irish or Scottish ancestry due to migrations to the cities where a lot of jobs were in the industrial revolution.

We have very little English dna in Ireland with a bit of Briton like welsh.
We have more Norse here than English
We were not left mix Catholic and Protestant for centuries Irish and British didn’t mix here like they did in the uk with Irish immigrants

We would like England a lot more if they gave back our 6 counties in the North, they’ll travel around the world to stop other countries invading neighbouring countries but turn a blind eye to Northern Ireland…
I think ulster should just be it's own separate country from the rest of the Ireland as well as not be part of the uk.
Our viewpoint is that the people living in Northern Ireland should decide. Not us, and not Dublin.

As an Half Scottish,irish and English I can say only two people in my family tree were ginger and I'm telling u now I have 100+ family members (obviously some are passed bc yk decades ago)

Only a minority of Irish people are "ginger". (around 8 percent) The vast majority of Irish people are brown haired and always have been. This idea of Irish people being a "red haired race" is a false stereotype

Brits are even better at bombing civilians in other countries or selling weapons to those who bomb civilians, including children.
Ireland, as well as Britain, once had terrorist groups in the UK that both used semtex to create bombs. (I fixed that for you) The Irish group was formed to stop the British one, and the British RUC from killing civilians. A common British trend (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc etc)
