This is a uniquely different way to make a picture frame, but Paul designed it specifically to work with hand tools.
Sizing the eight components with the level of precision needed can be tricky, but two guides make the whole process quick and simple. We have dispensed with the mitres normally associated with picture frames altogether, giving these frames an assembly process and look you've never seen before.
It's a step-by-step process with accuracy and we walk you through every step.

Back to doing what you love, and we love seeing you do it too... Good on you Paul. Three more weeks until my arm is out of the sling and I start rehab... Your comments about woodworking being good for rehab are very encouraging... I'll ask my surgeon. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through your hands. Thank you so much, Paul
Best wishes and happy healing 💖 Remember- don’t strain! 🙏👍🌟
Great to have you back.
Like woodworkers all over the world, I am overjoyed to see you back in your shop.
So glad to see you mending and back in the shop doing what you love, teaching and wood working.
Great to see you back in your happy space Paul!
Hi Mr. Sellers - glad to see you working again and healing from the injuries! Best wishes for you to continue to good health and healing. Cheers!
Glad to see you're on the mend Paul.
I'm gradually getting more mobile, by using woodworking as my recovery aid, after having bowel cancer operated on 3 years ago.
Although I spend a fair amount of time watching TH-cam videos, and just sharpening, and honing various tools.
I feel it does make you take your mind off the problem, and concentrate on the movements. Stay strong.
I've been learning from you Mr. Sellers ever since I first saw that first dovetail box build and those first videos of you in the yard planing wood against a tree to build a bench. I've come a long way as a woodworker since those early days. Many of my skills and success have come from watching and learning from you. Your encouragement and positivity have meant more than you will ever know. I was saddened to learn of the attack. Not surprised really, bad things happen to good people everyday. There is rarely anything that makes that right. Your return to the shop, this video in itself, is the best thing that can come of all pain and injustice. The opportunity to move forward with you makes me happy. My best to you and your's sir!
Thanks Paul, glad you're on the mend.
So glad to see you back Paul take your time. One of the best things I ever learned of Paul was the Knife wall.
This is current? Good for you Mr Sellers!! Happy to see you up and going 😊
Good to see you are like your end grain device... more better! Thank you for the inspiration.

-Team Paul!
You should pin this comment.
Your recovery from the accident is remarkably quick. And thank you for putting it in another lecture for us as soon as you could.
I hope the police were able to help resolve this for you! These types of things have a habit of lingering, both emotionally and physically, so please take care of yourself Paul!
I'm looking forward to many years of you sharing your knowledge and woodworking wisdom!
Nice ASMR and i am glad you look better !
Can't wait for part 2. Love these videos.
Lovely to see you back at bench Paul. Great to see your recovery coming on well.
Paul, this is something I have been very interested in doing, in a very simple way. Thanks for presenting it so well. I have a great source of walnut, maple, and madrone nearby at great prices for their short lengths. I know what I will be doing soon.
It is great to see you recovering. Seeing you work the wood is inspiring.
Sending lots of love, happy to see you back in the saddle!
Glad you're feeling better
I''m glad you're getting back to work, Paul. Greetings from Brazil.
So good to see you back to the shop with high spirit!. Thanks for everything ❤
SO happy to see you are healing well!
Broken ribs are the worst. I broke a couple of the low ones and you can't laugh or breathe sometimes. Happy to see you back in the game, Paul! 😊
It is good to see you back in the shop. You look like you are healing well after that awful attack.
I'!! be looking forward to more of these physical therapy classes.
Glad to see you back at the work bench (and producing interesting content as ever)! I'm still aghast that this has been done to you. All the best for the healing process, body and soul!
So glad you are recovering this well!!
Paul, you've always been a huge inspiration to me at least, I've always truly enjoyed your work and teachings. I'm glad and happy to see you back in the shop doing what makes you happy and for those of us whom are always learning from you. As always, another excellent video, cheers :)
Great to watch you working so deftly again Paul. Broken ribs take a good while but your woodworking has stood you in good stead.
I am very glad to see that you're feeling better.
Best wishes from Germany and thank you so much for your work - it's always an inspiration.
Chuffed to bits that you're back in the workshop!

Just great to see you are on the mend Paul! Take it nice and steady and thankyou for doing this video while still recovering 👍👍
Very glad to see you back at it!
Sorry to hear about the incident, but so glad on your rehab and recovery. Great video, BTW.
What a pleasant surprise Paul, ecstatic to see you back in action! Another great video Sir, thank you!!!
great to see you looking a lot better and your enthusiasm is back I was a joiner all my working life but I am still learning from you, keep it up.
It's great to see you on the mend. Take it easy fella.
Glad you are mending well and feeling better.
Glad you are recovering! I'm looking forward to the jig, at the first glance it reminds me of the way wood strips are prepared for kumiko - excited to see your take on it!
Indeed, the bitch of broken ribs is just expanding the diafram enough to get air in and out! Glad to see you on the mend, Paul!
Nice work Paul, good to see you getting back into the swing of things. Always enjoy your videos and certainly appreciate you sharing your skills and teaching. Stay well buddy.
Gladyou are feeling better. Sometimes it takes a while.
Champion and a trooper. o7
Dear Paul,
Sad to hear about your injury.
Take care and get well soon.
God bless you.
🙏
Great to see your on the road to recovery
Great video! Thanks Paul!!!
Удачи Здоровья ❤
We love you Paul and wish you a full recovery
Bendiciones Paul desde Piriapolis Uruguay 🇺🇾 🙏
Love ya, Paul. Keep at it.
It's good your back
thanks
Glad for your recovery and your determination in getting back to work.
I have a question:
You’re using a jig to plane to a desired thickness. How do you avoid planing the tracks of your jig while planing the workpiece? Did you grind a special plane iron to accomplish this?😊
Hope you get to feeling better Paul!! And what did you get attacked by a mountain lion?
Would have enjoyed seeing the final product. 😊
You and I have different ideas about the word simple.😊
0:55 now that's some classy cat's paw right there
Get well soon Paul!
It is so good to see you doing your thing Paul! Quick question; you probably covered it, but if so it went in one ear and out the other. I love all your jigs, but why do you choose those over a shooting board? That jig you use to square the ends of your stock looks HEAVY.
I made it, its not that heavy, and works really well. Try one.
Nice
I can't believe you have been assaulted! I haven't watched any of your videos for a while, but this one stood out as it seemed like something I (one day) might like to try. So sorry to hear that this happened to such a nice guy.
Hi Paul, relieved to see you recovering :) Could you please, someday, explain how you would make a beveled frame for stretching a canvas with handtools ?
Paul - it's so refreshing to see you behind the bench and doing what you love! I pray your recovery is without complication and you can put this unfortunate moment of your life behind you. Thank you very much for ALL that you've done (and continue to do) to educate us willing students of your woodworking philosophy. Cheers!
Good to see you back at work Paul!
I was wondering how long such two by fours need to acclimate/dry before being fit for projects?
Do you ever find that your pieces bow after you rip a small piece off the edge of a board? Do you just deal with it, do you straighten and redimension? Maybe the joinery will pull it back in, I guess it’s different case by case.
Sorry to hear that, get well Mr. Sellers!
Get well soon Paul
A timely project for diploma frames with people graduating College and High School.
not much of a comment, but - "best wishes!"
It's nice to see a craftsman at work and I have no doubt that his skill is beyond reproach, but it does seem a very long-winded way to make a simple frame, additionally, one can see end grain on every corner due to the method of construction, which is certainly not attractive and not how picture frames are normally made using mitred corners which are quicker, look so much better and can be just as strong.
You were attacked? By someone? What happened? I'm glad you're ok now. Gratings from IL USA.
I feel for you brother I broke 5 one time . Thanks Paul
I've had 3 broken ribs, but not at the same time ! The worst part is trying to sleep. 6 weeks recovery is about average.
Apparently your British bones heal quicker than my Oklahoma bones do.
Hi Paul. My wife and I just watched ‘picture frame 1’ and now on vlog 20. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. Has the runner been caught? Self-Entitled pomposity is no reason to go about assaulting innocent people who were in the right in the first place. We both hope you heal well.
I’m a beginner woodworker at 61yrs old. I was diagnosed with MS in April 2017, forcefully retired by the DVLA because they took my vocational driving license and practically shredded it. I can still drive cars but not much else. It’s taken me until now to find something worthwhile to do with my time. What ‘F’ clamps do you use please?
Best wishes always
Anthea and Dave Simpson
How sad this lovely man was attacked by a thug.
good to hear things are going well. Was the culprit apprehended?
Also, your vise fixture gives me a few ideas to extend its utiltiy, and possibly for work away from the shop.
Does anyone else have problems with playback on this vid? It keeps pausing and de-syncing for me on 2k and 1440. All other youtube vids play fine
At your age, not being able to recover fully is a reality. So good this not applies to you!
..
I watched this video and I don't see the bigger picture (,no pun) yet. Hopefully this will unfold in the next episode.
Our governments have failed us. "Nuff said.
Theres a lot of angry people going about the streets. They have a lot of problems
Practice back breathing.
Taking zinc supplements can aid bone healing 😊
🥹you poor thing. You always got a great attitude 😊🫣
