    Light leader is definitely better to get the bream to bite. Can go as low as 4-6 pound. Love the light tackle sessions, keep ‘‘em coming

    Walking and fishing long stretches of varied shoreline with light tackle as you did is absolutely one of my favorite ways to spend the day. And it works all over the world, from here in the States to there in Australia-and everywhere in between. One of my approaches is to cover the route with a light 8- to -10-lb. rig like yours, then try it again at a later date with an 12' surf rod, 30-lb. line, and big lures. Thanks for sharing your trip, Chris

    Hey Briggsy, nice vid, FYI saddleback is a deformity fish get when they're young from not developing their dorsal spines properly. Comes from not eating the right foods or genetics. That bream you got looks like a squid had a shot at it when it was younger but it got away. See it a bit around bommies and kelpy areas where squid hang out.

    • @Briggsy
      @Briggsy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I have seen it in many species including a bonito that had a fresh wound and sucker marks. Squid bite through the base of the spinal cord behind the head to quickly disable their prey'

    Love all the Vlogs even though I'm in Pismo Beach California 🇺🇸🌊🌊🌊 we have some spots that are rocky that we use light line to get em..water is around 59 degrees yearly so not fun getting all the way in the water without waders or a wetsuit. We do mostly Barred Surf Perch fishing with 9-12 foot Salmon Steelhead Rods and 3000-4000 series spinning reels/8-12lb Fluro Caroline Rig with a 3/4oz-1oz egg sinker with Big Hammer Bait company Crappie Paddle Tail Baits or Kalins Paddle Tail plastics.

    3:55 "Tailor", or "Taylor"? Bluefish of that size are common in America and we use the same name for them. In USA that would also be a taylor/tailor Blue. It's so cool how that species of fish can be caught in opposite corners of the planet.

    Hey briggsy i got a question would you ever go back to the morningtide fishing channel?

    • @Briggsy
      @Briggsy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mate, nah it's a long story but at the core of it the MTF channel never made any coin. The films took so long to create and there was three of us to coordinate, such a huge $$$$ expenditure to shoot/edit a MTF film they honestly didn't come anywhere near even paying for themselves (we'd put 100s of hours into a film and the film would make like $300 haha). The vlog channels are obviously way less time/$ intensive but get a lot more regular views so we can actually make a living doing it this way.
      BUT... I've just recently recorded a new song (for the first time in about 4? years) and I plan to make higher level edited films here on my channel a few times a year that should be reminiscent of the old MTF films (just gotta do a trip and catch a couple good fish and i'll make one, the first song's all ready to go!).
