I saw your reactions to _The Legend of Vox Machina_ and was going to move on, but now I got recommendations of your reaction to two Jaiden Animations videos and that did it; you got a new sub.
The only nuzlocke I've ever completed was Pearl. My starter, Empoleon, was the only survivor. Its a rewarding and sometimes soul-crushing experience but one worth trying.
In case no one else has said, both of Jaiden's birds are Conures! Tofu (the newer one) is a Crimson Belly Conure if I remember correctly, and Ari is a Teal Morph Green Cheek Conure!
@@SuperHalofan64 EV's or Effort Values are basically invisible stats that every pokemon has. By defeating pokemon w/ a specific EV yield, weather it be HP, Attack, Defense and so on, the lead party pokemon will gain 1-3 effort values (depending on the specific mon) to their sum total of 510 EV's. So say you're fighting hundreds of Maril which give HP evs, your pokemon will have a much higher HP value than when it started. Someone can probably explain it better but that's just my understanding from when I used to do competitive pokemon in the Black & White days.
@@SuperHalofan64 Only defeating pokemon. Wild or Trainer. Level ups obviously help. Thing to note is that 4 EVs equates to 1 more bonus to the stat it goes to. And with how many marills Jaiden claimed to have "killed", and Steel types being very defensive most of the time, really helps the survivability.
The really amazing thing about Zip Zap Zop surviving that earthquake is that if it weren't for the fact that it was trained specifically by battling Marills, it wouldn't have, because KO-ing Marills boots your Pokémon's HP EV, which means it would've had much less HP to tank that hit if it weren't for it's Marill extinction training regiment. Edit: We are currently on Gen 8, but we recently got a trailer for Gen 9. It seems to take place in the Pokémon world version of Spain, and all we've seen so far for new Pokemon are the three starters. The three of them are are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Qwaxly. I'm on Team Sprigatito, personally.
@@Guardian-of-Light137 I don't either, but I found this out by researching how far you can boost your Pokémon's stats with items like Iron and Zinc. Because those items boost their EVs. I think there's plenty of people that tinker with their Pokémon's EVs that only play the base game because it's not that difficult to do, but the IVs are the ones that are usually more associated with competitive battling since they used to be much more difficult to manipulate.

22:00 so fun fact: Sheer Cold (and all 1 Hit KO moves in Pokemon) have 30% accuracy…for Pokemon of the same level. So if you’re level 50 going against a level 50 there is a 30 percent chance of Sheer Cold hitting. However, what the game doesn’t tell you is that the higher level you are compared to your opponent, the higher their accuracy gets. I don’t know the exact amount it raises per level but a level 100 using Sheer Cold against a level 20 is a guaranteed hit. It’s also pointless because a level 100 one shots them regardless but the more you know.
Just to crush the dream. The Gen 2 starters don't have Mega Evolutions. Only the Gen 1 and 3 starters. But Typhlosion does have a regional variant in the game "Pokemon Legends: Arceus"

In most nuzlockes, i would chose the fire type simply because of how rare they are compared to what is accessible. just look at diamond and pearl. only two lines of fire types in the entire game (honestly its just bad game design). Though if you're planning on doing one on gen1, pick bulbasaur. it solo's the majority of the gyms.
You guys should react to shaggy ball z vs one jump man by mashed, or the waluigi trilogy they did. They are extremely well made videos with amazing songs to go with them

I lost the Pokemon shining Pearl run on Cynthia on her last Pokemon, and he was like 10 health. Ended up getting a crit on mine. 😭

Marril give good HP EVs, so killing so many was likely what saved him from that earthquake.
