pandangan saya bg pengguna kedua hrv dan x50. masa baru ambil hrv mmg rasa lagi padu. tapi selepas 2 bulan start suka drive balik x50 daily. ada kelebihan pada x50 yg saya tak dapat nak perincikan berbanding hrv.
The main complaint about X50 is the high fuel consumption (9.7 liter/100 km for town driving) but the saving of RM 20 k (difference in price) is equivalent to getting free petrol for 8 years.
Exactly... the RM 21,500 price differential gets you ~10,000 liters of free petrol (at current prices). Also free sunroof & Auto Parking in the X50. Plus you can add in about RM 5000 total in additional insurance costs as well for the Honda over 10 years as well.
Don't forget to calculate bank interest for RM 20K

X50 came out a few years already before the current new hrv. Its like comparing iphone 14 pro max with like iphone 12 pro max. Regardless, x50 held out its own despite the 30k price difference.

love my x50 so far been driven it for 6 month . fuel consumption not bad considering i did 150-160 on highway. 7.3 L/100km is not bad i would say
7.7L/KM - 5.3L/KM = 2.4/KM = RM 4.92 , every month they diffrent RM100, 5 years only RM 6000. i bet X50 is the best for this

In the Philippines, we have paddle shifters for the X50/Coolray, but we don't have rear airvents. and we don't have the whistling sound at high speeds.
What is the function of pedal shif because x50 has manual shifter on gear knop?

The HRV V spec is almost the perfect compact crossover except for the lack of these 2 things - floating infotainment display similar to the Civic FE, and secondly the power boot from the HRV RS.

Yes. X70 cabin is more quiet than HRV.
let say you saving rm 4800 every 100k km for less fuel consumption compare to x50, then you need drive for more than 500k km for compesate the extra amount of money when you buy honda crv that rm30k more than x50, which mean only after 15years you can say buying hrv value for money
Nobody knows if the fuel price remains the same after a year or so. Need to consider resale value too

China cars (I know it's Malaysian brand but it's basically Geely), are known for low fuel efficiency, so the fuel consumption result is not surprising.

Fuel consumption on the X50 is definitely an issue. Coupled with the small tank, you'll need to refuel twice a week based on daily 60km commute
Yes one full tank cant even get you to Penang from Seremban. Had to refuel at Simpang Ampat. Bad fuel consumption 😢

hrv- handling, exterior, fuel efficiency, after sales, branding.
Overall Hrv still win for me.
HRV - lower maintenance costs.
In terms of seating position and comfortable for long distance I preferred hrv. Tested both car.

DCT is much reliable n better performance gearbox compared with CVT
Tested both cars and in terms of handling, smoothness and most importantly NVH level, the HRV wins hands down. If you have the budget, go for it!

20,000 for a 9 year loan is a rm180 difference. Now do the maths for the fuel, maintenance and resale value savings.

Bagi aku.gearbox DCT lebih power dari CVT. DCT lebih lasak dari CVT. Dari handling kedua² pakai torsion beam. Jadi kurang sikitlah. Jika pakai multi link lagi mantap. Dari value market memang honda menang. Dari kelajuan x50 menang. Keluasan honda menang. Dari function dlm x50 menang.
Overtime and after the more frequent visits to the petrol stations, the X50 will be the more expensive car to live with in the real world. The new HRV is just a better overall package in terms of performance and practicality. 😊👌

Yes you're right. Also nobody wants those crappy 3 cylinder engines anymore. Even Geely China started to ditch it. Rough, noisy and bad fuel consumption compared to 4 cylinder!
I think the only downside for x50 is the 3 years warranty of DCT gearbox. Buat ak fikir 2 3 kali nk beli. Kereta baru dibeli utk peace of mind usually for 5 years la u get peace of mind. Tp gearbox 3 tahun je warranty.
Lagi2 kalau X50 ni rosak GB,hantar SC banyak yg complain SC lambat buat kerja.
This DCT is quite reliable. It's designed for reliability. Unlike VW, it's design for sporty.. Ive been driving x50 more than 3 years and no issue with the gearbox..
The long waiting period and also the growing numbers of complains on the X50 turned me towards the HRV. So far so good and thoroughly enjoying it.

Honda engines nowdays are really efficient fuel burner

Haven’t take into account on proton’s infamous abysmal after sales service, loss of days usage if car is stranded in SC, time loss frequenting SC and spare part availability.
