Hey Friends! We had an incredible time exploring Egmont Key! Egmont Key is accessible only by boat or ferry. We took Hubbard’s Ferry from Fort DeSoto Park, which offers daily trips to this secluded island paradise. Capt Zip!!! You’re the BEST!! I appreciate you making our trip so memorable. We loved it so much, we’re thinking of going back and visiting Shell Island next! 😁
Hmmm, initially I thought you got on cruise to nowhere, LOL. Too bad it was only 3hrs stay hardly enough time even just for the beach. Thanks for showing something on the Gulf side. I'm guessing more amenities once it's more popular? (ie quick shower & change rooms etc.) Still, it's different & enjoyable. Tanks for sharing.
Hey Phil! lol…taking a cruise to nowhere sounds like something Noah and I would do! 😆 To be honest, I’m not sure if they’ll ever build anything back on the island. It would be nice to have bathrooms, but we didn’t mind it too much since we weren’t there that long. 3 hours definitely isn’t a ton of time…but we were still able to see the entire island and spend some time on the beach (about an hour and a half). There is a beautiful beach just down the street from where they drop you back off at in Fort DeSoto Park if you want to continue your beach day. We’ll have to go back and do a video about it one day.
Ooooo this was so calming to watch! I love the detail and history you provide for these hidden gems! Being able to spot different wildlife is an added bonus. This is definitely a break away from the parks!
It is! We loved it, and only wished that we could have stayed on the island longer. We definitely have to go back and check out Shell Island next which is nearby.
Thank you so much! It took us about 30 minutes to get to the island. The average cost for a round-trip ferry ticket to Egmont Key with Hubbard's Marina is around $45 per adult and $22.50 per child aged 4-11. Children 3 and under ride for free. These prices include the ferry ride to and from the island, as well as approximately three hours on Egmont Key to explore.

It really is so beautiful! How was the snorkeling? Did you get to see the ruins?

A lovely tour thx. How long was the ferry ride to the island and what is the average cost per person?

We never heard of that island. What a great place to explore!
Isn’t it cool? We can’t wait to feature more of these little gems in the near future!
Love the ghost town!
The ghost town was so interesting! You could almost imagine what it was like to live there. If only the fire didn’t burn everything down!
