Always nice to see you and Roberto. Recently I got the Fuji XF33 f/1.4 (excellent lens) because I wanted the equivalent to a 50mm f/1.4 and I’m mostly using it at f/8 or f/11🤣Great song at the end, I just love heavy metal.
I just sold my Olympus 25mm 1.2 as I hardly used it. As a casual shooter I enjoy shooting with the 1.8 version more. Very small and compact. All the 1.8 primes are 👌
Wow you had the 1.2 pro. That's full on. Same here my needs don't really suit pro lenses. Still deciding if the oly 1.8 would have been the wiser purchase.... Prob buy that too 😆
I have the 14-42mm ez mounted to my Pen-F just about all the time as I can't be bothered changing lenses. I have found 20mm to 30mm focal lengths used the most. Great video Rob.
Congratulations to Jerry on that scratch, fantastic! I've seen the Leica come up for sale a few times but once I've differed about buying it, it's gone so it must be good. I have the Olympus 25mm 1.8 which does me fine and is a very good lens but, here's one for you Roberto.... I've also got a Sigma 30mm f1.4 and I have to say that it really is rather good. Narrower field-of-view compared to a 25mm than you might think but as sharp as you like and lovely out-of-focus backgrounds. I'll keep an eye open for a Leica again.
Yeah. I was thinking too doesn't the shutter curtain make a sound too when in mechanical mode. But then when in silent mode why is there no sound.. haha I'm confused now 😆
I was shooting 80% at 5.6 in the end. Lol Yes portraits is good. Because I use a zoom a lot I must go through my photos one day and find my most used. Not that it matters but would be interesting
Haha Enzo welcome on board plenty of pasta fagule here.. unless Jerry eats it all. Yes the mft gang are few sonwe need to stick together. What system you got?
Another great Video! IMHO both you and this lens are gems! The lens is part of my EDC - 15 f1.7 + 25 f1.4 and 42.5 f1.7 together with LUMIX GX9 or PEN E-P7! Sometimes I use the Olympus trio, 17 f1.2 + 25 f1.2 and 45 f1.2, instead together with E-M1x or GH6 but I honestly don’t see that much of a difference (even if the 1.2 combo in absolute terms is a tiny bit better..) I used to own the 25 f1.7 but experienced focus shift just like you so I gave that one away! Keep your entertaining videos coming!
Wow Rik you got an impressive lineup to juggle 😆 I thought I was the only one that had prob with 1.7 focus. Most times I just use the zoom but these primes are training my brain to think about composition. And of course the low light benefits are great. Hoping to do more night street. Jerry loves a good summer night walk through the city
@@robdidomy copy of the 40-150 was pin sharp in comparison to the 14-150. Interesting that my first copy of the 14-150 was very poor to focus and I sold it on. But I recently bought another for silly cheap money and it’s very close to the sharpness of my 40-150. The lens that’s glued to my em5 mkiii is the 12-45 pro it’s a gem!
Your pics at the end were amazing. The sound of The blades sounds like the title of a a heavy metal album, or a novel.
Haha. The Sound of Blades. my new photography podcast show 😆

Haha. Yeah I ended up just stopping it up but having that extra light is handy. Jerry fav singer Luciano Paw-varotti
@@robdido I’m old school, for “heavy metal” tenors I like Enrico Caruso (he was a Japanese guy).

@@robdido yup I have even considering selling it all and just keeping the EPL9 and the 1.8 primes.

Yeah. I love that little thing. I should go through my photos and see what focal length I subliminally use most 😆

Prob psychological but I think I should have got that 1.8 Olympus. I hear sigma is just as good these days. Lol.. Jerry the doggy &
Just thinking the lens sound you compared was actually the shutter. Otherwise ‘Silent’ mode wouldn’t work. Thanks Roberto and Jerry!

Can't go wrong with the nifty fifty. To quote the crusader knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... you chose... wisely! Some 🔥images.
I took a leap of faith 🙂
I have the water resistant version. I hardly use except for portraits. I just feel so limited with a 50mm and use a 40mm and 35mm so much more.

The only primes I have are for macro photography. Give me a zoom any day.
yep. i can't live without my zoom. it saves me most days when out an about.
Love the 14-150mm. My first lens ever and perfect for the Em5 III. Versatile and great ergonomics. Lightweight. A Gem 👌🏼✨
yeah. that thing is practically glued to my em1ii - I used to love the cheap 40-150 but it broke. looking to buy another one
