@@Nick930 I think it’s an interesting problem since putting a different material to it invites players to destroy them but their goal is to just have destructive environments. So they went for the safe route. although it’s not like Fortnite where all of it is destructive.
Most of these characters were going to play similar regardless because they had these abilities for years. Literally, only jeff and luna snow are younger than overwatch characters. The marvel characters are is 30-60 years old.
actually suprised OW still looks this good since I usually play on low settings. But the performance difference is insane between the two games, i get 3x more fps in overwatch.
Not sure about some of these comparisons since you're comparing Overwatch 2, a "sequel" that mostly carries over a lot of stuff from the original, to Rivals Vanilla. For instance, Overwatch Vanilla and Rivals have almost the same amount of arenas. Also, Rivals does have a button to show all of the areas that are destructible.
Great comparison, thanks for this. I personally weigh heavily on the fact that marvel rivals seems be a direct rip off of Overwatch in so many aspects. That is something that is very important to me even though it doesn't seem as important to other people. Overwatch is built on much more polished infrastructure, where as Marval Rivals seems to take the cheaper route in a lot of areas. Whether it be voice acting, some of the animations / particle effects and sub-par coding, balancing, etc. I don't play either game at this time, and I may be partial as I've played thousands of hours of Overwatch in the past, but I still find it to be a much higher quality game, and most importantly, highly original (but not entirely) in its concept. Blizzard did poorly manage Overwatch, and that might be an understatement. Overwatch 2 was basically a greedy shop re-work, hardly a sequel. We are yet to see how Marvel Rivals will be managed, and if it will stand the test of time. They do have the benefit of seeing the decisions Blizzard made with Overwatch, what worked and what didn't.
Rivals is fun with cool characters and OW has been mishandled to a shocking degree with Blizzard falling from grace. That being said the games are not even in the same league. OW was a masterpiece at its peak.
Another thing to point out, many heroes in Marvel Rivals have the same gameplay loop with their hand movements as if they're holding a magic wand, same fire rate, animations and everything. Meanwhile in OW every hero has a unique weapon and animations.
can you elaborate on same gameplay loop because for example all Melee character is work differently. Also, im not sure about saying all chracter have the same animation need example since i dont really see it.
@@Alert111 The most unique characters in MR are melee and weapon based. Because it allows the character to act how their weapons allow. OW is primarily an FPS and when designing a character first they come up with a weapon and how different it's going to be from the rest of the cast, then they design the character around it. That's the problem with superheroes that most of them have no weapon and you're stuck with uncreative "turret like" function. Luna Snow, Mantis, Cloak & Dagger, Storm, Iron Man, Penny Parker, Invisible Woman, Loki, Namor, Hela and some others, all have the same firing rate and even samey hand gesture animations the way they're throwing out projectiles. Yes they have unique skillset but the primary fire is still core of any character's gameplay. There's also very bizzare choices in this game like why give Loki a huge scythe and....make him fire orbs out of it? Also what's personally painful to me because I love this character and her visual design, why turn Psylocke into a....shotgun character??
Biggest problem I still have with Marvel Rivals is that the characters through out the game talk WAY to much, if it is not the character it is the AI (background voice) that keeps talking.
That issus is easily fixable. Go to settings > audio > mix > change balance to focus. There's also another option called immersion but don't click that as it'll be a cacophony of noise.
It blows my mind that Overwatch still has shooters The release of Overwatch "2" should have been the nail in the coffin And what's even funnier is that they're pulling the same "they ripped off our game" that TF2 players were saying about Overwatch 1 (and I'll freely admit I was one of them, back when I played TF2 during Overwatch's release). Sorry you feel Marvel Rivals' sniper character is an uninspired ripoff since both games have a generic sniper
Unironically Winston is a copy of beast. I genuinely never noticed that until someone pointed it out, a smart intellectual monkey/monster, who’s calm reserved, wears glasses gets mad and rages out if glasses break. I think there’s a comparative amount of similarities I just cringed when you said Hawkeye is like Hanzo, or iron man is like parah. Or even the winter solider comparison, but to be fair you could just be a surface level enjoyer of comics and movies. So I can’t blame you for being ignorant
Comparar esses dois é tipo comparar Warzone mobile e Bloodstrike: melhores gráficos vs melhor jogo. Mas nesse caso, o Marvel Rivals ganha nos dois kkkkkk

the art to indicate to the player what
can or can't be destroyed requiring a
lot of trial and error."
Press B!
The game literally tells us that too , are people just...not paying attention to tutorials lmao
The art of the game should indicate this, not additional UI assists.
This is exactly the problem with games relying on things like "yellow paint" lately. It's not good design
@@Nick930 It definitely should be communicated visually and without the use of a button. They created a feature to fix the bad design.
@@Nick930wouldn’t having the art in the game indicate destructible environments play into the “yellow paint” in other games?
@@Nick930 I think it’s an interesting problem since putting a different material to it invites players to destroy them but their goal is to just have destructive environments. So they went for the safe route. although it’s not like Fortnite where all of it is destructive.
I dont like any of these but cmon Overwatch is clear winner here.
it’s really obvious that they took a ton of inspiration from overwatch and that’s okay since they made it better
I mean they were publishing it for years until Activision broke the deal.
Most of these characters were going to play similar regardless because they had these abilities for years. Literally, only jeff and luna snow are younger than overwatch characters. The marvel characters are is 30-60 years old.
I just can’t stand Marvel Rival announcer 😂
Overwatch is my fav game of all time. Then they replaced it with ow2 which is a complete downgrade.
TPP, Marvels beloved characters, lack of woke, F2P = insta success
3rd person shooters > 1st person shooters 🙏
The comparison will only show how good and polished Overwatch is.
Good joke
actually suprised OW still looks this good since I usually play on low settings.
Marvel characters were made way before Overwatch even existed. Overwatch took inspiration, Marvel just took their characters and made the game.
Overwatch, the technical part of it, has always been great. There are more, deeper problems that make it an infinitely inferior game to rivals now.
It's obvious Marvel Rivals is doing better, because no one cares about Overwatch 2.
Another thing to point out, many heroes in Marvel Rivals have the same gameplay loop with their hand movements as if they're holding a magic wand, same fire rate, animations and everything. Meanwhile in OW every hero has a unique weapon and animations.
If only blizzard could make new great heroes. I went to marvel only because of new overwatch heroes, they all are crap
@redneck9202 No they're not. Juno and Illari actually made me want to play support. Hazard is also very versatile and fun.
can you elaborate on same gameplay loop because for example all Melee character is work differently. Also, im not sure about saying all chracter have the same animation need example since i dont really see it.
No
@@Alert111 The most unique characters in MR are melee and weapon based.
The Marvel game looks extremely generic. SO boring... it hurts to watch.
me: goes playing helldivers 2
It blows my mind that Overwatch still has shooters
The release of Overwatch "2" should have been the nail in the coffin
And what's even funnier is that they're pulling the same "they ripped off our game" that TF2 players were saying about Overwatch 1 (and I'll freely admit I was one of them, back when I played TF2 during Overwatch's release).
So I can’t blame you for being ignorant
...im talking about fundamental gameplay similarities. These characters behave the same in terms of gameplay usage (with plenty of caveats).
Actually the first intellectual money I think is the detective monkey from Batman.
To me Winston getting angry is always inspiredby hulk but Hulk gameplay in Marvel is inspired by Winston
overwatch is dead
NGL, this is not the best moment to upload this Kermit my man. Ur community is going to talk about the Switch 2 for today.
You didn’t compare, which one has the best pronouns…. Oh wait…. Rivals doesn’t have pronouns 🏆
Comparar esses dois é tipo comparar Warzone mobile e Bloodstrike: melhores gráficos vs melhor jogo. Mas nesse caso, o Marvel Rivals ganha nos dois kkkkkk
So tired of all live service games.
Marvel rival’s gameplay looks jarring
Rivals' Ui is terriblble compared to ow2, even looks like a cheap chinese mobile game
overwatch sounds like what id expect to hear if it was happenng next to me. marvel rivals sounds exactly like what id expect a comic book to sound like, kinda flat and sorta hollow.
They should make a mode where only one player can be a certain character. That way there are no duplicates on the field on both teams. Everyone has to be different characters.
