Thanks for this wonderful first journey into PuG! I loved how your enthusiasm increased as the historical story/journey began to unfold. It is truly a fascinating story -- so many layers, so many interesting characters, so many theaters to balance.... Imagine when the Germans show up in Palestine.... BTW, the jihad track was a real German strategy, with the ultimate goal of triggering another Indian Mutiny or a revolt in Egypt. Never happened in real life, of course, but the British were seriously worried and the Germans were definitely trying to make it happen....
FYI, the book "The Berlin-Baghdad Express: The Ottoman Empire and Germany's Bid for World Power, 1898-1918 " provides very interesting perspective about the period covered by this game. For instance, it explains how Germany sought the Ottoman Empire as an ally to create jihad against the British - whose Empire at the time was the largest Islamic power in the world.
Guys, thanks for doing this one. I am SO pumped for my update to arrive next Monday (hopefully!) with reworked rules and a mounted map. I will be back to take this one in when I can take the time to sit through it. Kudos guys, enjoyed the cameo with Ardy at the Con, keep up the great work!
Saw the whole thing, absolutely loved it! I think continuing from the sample game and also playing against the CDG (essentially playing vs a 'light' bot) is ingenious. This was very entertaining! I'd love to see this (alongside a 1v1 vs. Grant) repeated in regular PoG and Ilussions of Glory (which has a new edition coming out with quite substantial changes).
Great AAR. I loved the turn by turn breakdown. I am looking forward to getting this to the table. Do you think this is a balanced game or does the Entente player have the advantage?
Difficult to say, honestly, I’m sure it’s more balanced than what happened here. CP had two hands off terrible cards which really hurt, and better and more experienced players will make less blunders.
This game is so interesting and rich but with a lot of chrome. I have been playing this game side by side with a laptop running the Wargameroom application which enforces all the rules. Amazing experience.
I was in touch earlier this year with the designer and he fixed 2 bugs that I reported. I admire his work and so I made a small donation to thank him. It would be great if a few people could do the same to give him the incentive to continue to support the app..@@mikerichardson1549
***For reference I shot this in August using a 1st Ed. copy of the game and rules, so your 2nd Ed. may well have different/better rules as well.

I wonder if someone will update the wargameroom app for the second edition. Now that would be cool!
